   We love the the chill ambience of Verbena! Bartender Joe and his purple cocktail…Emma with outstanding service…and everything we ate was delicious! (Chips and green goddess, oysters, linguini + clams, filet, broccolini and fries!) Favorite of the night was the linguini and clams. Absolute perfection. Thank y’all for a fabulous date night!

   Have had two wonderful lunches at Verbena. The only thing I suggest is lowering the music. Too loud for an older crowd. And the crowd is "older." Maybe pipe in something more classic and soothing for dining, less loud "pop" tunes. A little annoying. Thank you!

   Plenty of seating on the patio although I was told over the phone and upon arrival there was none available 🙄. I am on a walker after hip replacement and asked if we could have a four top so I could elevate my leg. Nope. That four top (among others) sat empty the whole time we were there. Server forgot part of our order but offered no compensation. Had to fetch host from bar to be seated although restaurant wasn’t busy at all on a beautiful day at 1:30. Got the feeling they didn’t really need our business. Food was amazing so will probably go back. 🤷‍♀️

   Food was very good. Service started out slow but improved as dinner went on. By the glass wine prices are ridiculously high but bottle prices are comparable to other restaurants. Old fashion cocktail was well done.

    Every item we ordered was so salty and we brought it up to waitress when she asked us how our meal was, soup, gnocchi, and even the bread that I had to pay extra for had salt all over the top. My friend who is diabetic, could not finish her dinner because of the excessive salt. All the waitress said was Im sorry I will pass it onto the chef. I also called about a corkage fee, and was told by a young girl that there was a $30 charge maximum 2 bottles. I asked for clarification, and she confirmed they would open 2 bottles for that price. I was then charged $60, in which the manager came over and told us that she would take off the extra $30, but condescendingly, told us we were wrong. RUDE! I will not be back!

    I love this restaurant. I visited last winter and loved the food. Went back again last night and loved the food again. I had chicken with a smokey farro stuffed pepper. This dish was fabulous. The pepper and the stuffing was really good. I had an asparagus salad that was also fantastic. Finished with a blueberry crisp. Everything was great. This is one of the best restaurants in KC, in my opinion.

    Chris was knowledgeable about the food. Friendly and helpful. The rolls, crab fritters, steak tartare. Delicious. Our entree-salmon with trout roe was prepared perfectly. Verbena is a jewel of a dining experience.

    Wonderful service and food! Started with smoked old fashioneds, which were great. We had crab cake appetizers and wedge salad as starters, spinach ricotta tortelli, and filet for entrees. All were phenomenal and prepared perfectly. Lemon creme brulee and blueberry crumble desserts were amazing. Really neat atmosphere and views of the lake and patio. Highly recommend.

    First time reviewer as I’m interested if this is a normal occurrence at Verbena. We had a party of 3, first time diners at Verbena. I will start by saying that the atmosphere was lovely. Our waitress, Amy, was absolutely wonderful. She was attentive and did a great job explaining the menu to first time visitors. My only concern was that an hour and twenty minutes into our meal, and while we were discussing what desserts and after dinner drinks we were going to order, the manager came over and told us that they have a reservation for that table in 20 mins and that they would offer us to sit on the patio but “the wind was starting to pick up”. The manager didn’t offer any other options. Amy brought over our tickets and apologized. We asked if we could sit at the bar for another drink since there were seats available and she said yes. The manager then came over and closed out our tickets. An hour later while we were finishing our drinks the manger did came back and offered us a free dessert which was appreciated but why wasn’t the bar seats and dessert an option earlier? I felt bad for the waitress as that took money out of her pocket! Plus when you book a reservation it says the following: IMPORTANT DINING INFORMATION Your table will be reserved for 1 hour 30 minutes for parties of up to 2; 2 hours for parties of up to 4; 2 hours 30 minutes for parties of up to 6; and 3 hours for parties of 7+. We had a party of 3 and was asked to leave 40 mins before the allotted time. It just felt tacky! We will not be back.

    We had reservations on a busy Friday night; seated right away. Parking was easy because we lucked our way into a nearby spot. Only one handicapped parking space and it was taken by no-placard vehicle (still there when we exited). The meal had a good pace established by our server. Excellent soup of day and wife enjoyed the New England clam chowder followed by her linguine and clams. I enjoyed the spinach & ricotta tortelli with the Parker rolls to dip into the delicate sauce. Highly recommend for dessert the Lemon Verbena Creme Brulee. Conversation was challenging because of loud background noise and the dining experience, while pleasant, was pricey. Overall, we would like to return to try other menu items.

    Overall a very nice place. Service was excellent, however, the restaurant was cold which led to some discomfort. Had a French Martini which as not very good. The lobster roll was a good concept, but it needed more spices and another spoonful of Duke's. The blueberry-ginger crisp was very good and my wife really liked her salad and fish entree. So...overall a good place and we will give it another try sometime soon.

    This beautiful restaurant reminded me a lot of a Parisian bistro, which isn't surprising since it's owned by the same French people who have Cafe Provence and French Market. The Parker House rolls were possibly the best bread I've eaten in my life! My smoked salmon grain bowl was delicious (with a very generous portion of salmon). I found the clam chowder to be slightly salty for my taste but that didn't stop me from draining the bowl! It's fancy and only a little pricy. It will be a special occasion place for me, but I'll definitely go back.

    The menu is seasonal and changes. The restaurant is attached to a cute boutique hotel and both have cute chic decor. We had the yellowtail hamachi appetizer and clam linguine and the pork chop w mustard maple glaze. All were divine.

    Reservations definitely recommended. We had Crab Fritter (very good, enough for 2), split a caesar salad, also good, spinach & ricotta tortelli (creamy good & rich), roasted pork chop, outstanding, & lemon creme brûlée, also outstanding.
