Verbena is a restaurant and bar located in the heart of West 6th Street occupying the street side ground level of the award-winning Canopy by Hilton Hotel. The venue is comprised of a 36-seat bar and lounge, a 60-seat dining room with open kitchen, and wood-burning hearth, both which open to a lush open-air courtyard.

Journey through Chef Paolo’s gastronomic narrative where he pays homage to his contemporary Mexican roots. His menu is highly influenced with essences of French techniques and contains stories and flavors he’s discovered throughout his travels. It is truly a memorable dining experience.

Food good. Service great. Value good. Wife and I dined out on a Friday night at 8 PM after a summer evening. Sat outside which was a bit warmer but it was a nice romantic vibe. Dustin, our server was fantastic with the descriptions and recommendations of items on the menu. Food took a little longer than usual to come out but understandably on a Friday. We had the burrata app to start and that was great though we didn’t care too much for the thickness of the bread or the nuts or pomegranate. We also had the lamb shank tacos as the entree and most of it was moist, tender and flavorful and it was also enough for both my wife and I to share (but we were not very hungry and wanted to save room for dessert). We had the tres leches for dessert which was decent. It was better than others we have tried at normal Mexican restaurants and it was a safe option for us. For drinks (non-alcoholic) my wife had a guava margarita mocktail which she thought was just okay, and I had the whiskey sour mocktail which I absolutely loved. Overall great experience, good food/drinks, with amazing service.

Nicely located restaurant in a Hilton property. Their patio in the middle of the building structure is good, but it was a bit too hot to sit outside in June. Their citrus salad is great. I highly recommend it.

For Mother’s Day brunch there was a mariachi band that was so loud we could not have any conversation at our table. And we we were at least 5 tables away from their location. Other diners were closer and there’s no way they could hear their conversations either. The band was really good and the idea of having that type of entertainment is nice, but they were using microphones and amplifiers which were completely unnecessary. We asked our server about the possibility of asking them to turn it down slightly but she said other guests had already raised the question and management said no. Great place. Good food and drinks. Usually great atmosphere. But this particular visit wasn’t very enjoyable.

We ate on the patio and everything we had was delicious. We were celebrating a birthday and graduation. We had the octopus, dumplings, ceviche, gem salad, chicken dos moles and the pork chop.

Fantastic food! The appetizers, main plates, and dessert were all awesome. The only thing that didn't blow us away was their cocktails. They were okay, but kind of bland and not nearly as flavorful as the food was. Would definitely go back and recommend to anyone looking for some upscale Mexican food.

Tina was our server and was awesome. She was attentive, helpful with answering questions and guiding us through the menu. AnD she was delightful! The food was creative (great selections) and absolutely delicious!
