Each spring/summer season, the buck's velvet supplies developing antlers with vital nutrients and oxygen required for a rapid regeneration and growth before the antlers are shed in the winter.
The elegantly raw evolution of the Buck metaphorically translates into the story of the rustically refined men that developed the Mountains and Aspen in the early 1800's.
Amazing food, super attentive waiter. Anticipated all of our condiment needs and our coffee was never empty! A perfect experience.
A beautiful room and excellent service. We shared the escargot with a garlic butter candle which is unique. The pastrami spiced short rib and Korean spiced Brussels sprouts were both outstanding.
Amazing service. Very large portions, delicious food.
While the ambiance was nice, we were the only table for most of the dinner. We were treated well but the staff was very curious to know about our lives as we were not staying at the hotel. The food was good; however, it is worth noting we were not asked the temperature of the wagyu and had to have it recooked. Overall enjoyed but these were our notes
The food and service are outstanding!! The ambience is a bit meeting room or ballroom like. It’s not what you would imagine based on the name of the restaurant. It could use a more cozy western atmosphere IMO.
Exactly what you would expect from a restaurant in the St. Regis! Perfect service and perfectly prepared food. A surprisingly good value as well! Will definitely return!
Absolutely delicious food with great service!
We came in with a hockey team and the staff was great in accommodating us. The buffet selection was very nice just was not prepared the $42 per person buffet price.
Good food, no atmosphere and the server did not know the menu. Wine sommelier disappeared so we could not discuss and second bottle of wine.
Food was fine, not anything exciting or notable. Decent enough. Service was fine.
It was more than terrible!!!
I do not know how you can let them stay on your list!!!
I made the opentable again in my phone because we came visit USA!!
That’s the resume!!
We asked for the food !
After 40 minutes ,a waiter that supposed to be a kind of maître said he could not say anything for us...
But we were with a child, and most of the restaurants we went ,the food came always quickly for them.
And 55 minutes after our order they came to tell that the filet I have asked had finished!!!
55 minutes and they did not started my food and realized there were no filet????
I asked for my granddaughter meal and they told they would asked to be made!!!
How can a child of 6 years old could wait for another hour to eat!!!
I went to the kitchen to see if they were with the child food ready, but they did not started yet!!
The people around happened the same and they left!!!
We made the same...
leaving without food, because there is a limit for everything!!!
How I hotel like St Regis have a kind of restaurant like this for serving the guests???
Probably you have to send someone there to check but not informing you are for opentable!!!
The other reservations we made with you were perfect..
But Velvet Buck ,never more!!!!!
Poor service, waitress forgot half of our food and drinks. Started taking orders at one end of the table and then moved to the opposite end for no reason. Food came out cold and took too long.
If you want the ambience of Denny's with screaming infants and the prices of a Michelin 3-Star restaurant, then the Velvet Buck is for you. Otherwise, stay away! St. Regis Aspen touts the Velvet Buck as fine dining but it has a limited dinner menu, nice but totally untrained waitresses, and management does nothing to try to isolate families with misbehaving, screaming children from the rest of its dining guests. I hosted my adult family and guests at the Velvet Buck for what I hoped to be a special holiday evening, but instead I was totally embarrassed by the unpleasant dining experience but still got to pay $80 per bison steak and $20-25 per drink with no apoloiges or regrets from the management upon leaving the restaurant.
We expected much more from the Velvet Buck. There was nothing memorable about the food although it’s good. It’s just not what we expected being housed within the St Regis. The service was very good - nice and attentive. The ambiance was lacking - there was non descript music playing on a low volume, very high ceilings, very low energy. It’s a quiet place. Compared to other restaurants in the area, the Velvet Buck doesn’t measure up, especially for the price (over $800 for 5 with two bottles of wine).
Poor service. Waiter took FOREVER. Could not get the order straight. Ended up over billing us significantly. At the end, the manager felt so bad for us we ended up not being charged at all. For a St Regis restaurant, pretty poor experience - Skip this restaurant!
The food was outstanding, especially the meats. It was kid friendly too.
I was greeted by name upon entrance by Kiran, the host. The wait staff was very pleasant and efficient. I had a Ceasar Salad, with 4oz Salmon addition. The Salmon was very tasty, the salad was average. Bread served was very good. The ambience, environs at The St. Regis...are the highlight.
We enjoyed the Thanksgiving buffet and enjoyed everything, all tasty and great variety. Good value for Thanksgiving in a pretty and festive setting.
My steak was over cooked .
Food over wall was just ok .
I went back for breakfast and the breakfast food was great and service was too intense , meaning they asked me if I needed anything else 10 times. Next time they should let the guest enjoy their food .
Excellent food, wonderful staff —thank you kindly!
Quite unfortunate. The worst Chef and Management on the planet! Our server, Chris did the best he could, under the circumstances he was given. I asked for a fried egg with NO yolk. WAY too much for the chef to handle. Simple solution, bust the egg yolk and fry both sides. His/her lack of listening to the customers needs and not staying his/her own course, was his colossal failure. Plate was returned three times. Finally asked for a scrambled egg, well. Received a runny scrambled egg. Any other restaurant would have had a manager check table side. No one showed except for the server's who were the face of the disconcerted, yet cordial customer, while the Chef hid behind closed doors.
It’s pricey, but very much worth it. The food was sensational! My wife who has a very, very discriminating palette could stop going on about the braised short ribs. I tried the king salmon and very much enjoyed it as well. The skin was seared to perfection. The more you enjoy mash potatoes, the more I would encourage you to try theirs. I dare say, they were the best we have ever found 😃
The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Perfect recommendations, atmosphere and service.
We had a very tasty and quiet meal here with attentive service. The place was fairly empty late in the evening, but the meal quality itself was very high.
Very very nice . Food terrific. But not $$. Quite expensive!
Great food, but terrible service. Every table on all sides of us had to complain to get their order within an hour. One manager was trying to listen to all the complaints while four people who looked like management stood around the entrance and did nothing. Once we got what we ordered it was amazing.
Terrible food, slow service, overpriced. Will not be back. Run!
The service was horrible even though it wasn’t busy. Our food came out before our drinks and we had to remind them several times
All the food was cold, but the service was nice
Had brunch, it was nice
We’ve always enjoyed the St. Regis hotel where velvet buck is located, so we decided to try velvet Buck for lunch one day. We weren’t expecting anything special, but we were blown away by the amazing food, attention to detail, and over-the-top friendly service! We will definitely be back, and would recommend this place to anyone who appreciates an upscale atmosphere and fine food.
Excellent food, very good service, but the dinning room was quiet, we didn’t feel in Aspen, or a mountain village.
it was great!
Beautiful cocktails to start, the color-changing G&T was a cute highlight. We shared several appetizers, and two entrees as a group of three. The food was delicious and beautifully executed. Our server did a fine job, she seemed a little hesitant, but was pleasant. Very quiet dinner ambiance (Apres may be more their thing?) but the quality of food did not suffer from a very empty (beautifully decorated) dining room. Glad to have finally tried out the Velvet Buck, and will come back.
The food was delicious and creative. We brought our children and the children’s menu was varied and included smaller portions of salmon and steak. Our waitress was extremely helpful and brought tableside s’mores to the kids for dinner.
Great menu selection, presentation beautiful, food was wonderful.
Honestly if I could give SIX STARS for service, the staff at Velvet Buck deserve ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — Food was delicious as well. My St. Regis G&T was strong but fine still, worth the $$.
Love this restaurant! The staff is always amazing, professional and friendly and the food is five-star. I love how they switch up their menu throughout different seasons as well. Great ambiance that is a quiet and comfortable for long evening of conversations.
Great restaurant with excellent foods and service, we really enjoys lot
Great food, good service, nice ambiance. Highly recommend.
