   I can not make a proper review because the restaurant was closed when we arrived, as it is part of the st. Regis hotel, they sent us to the bar restaurant and said our reservation was transferred there.. did not like the experience, was not what I wanted and the service at the bar was VERY SLOW, they did not bring us our drinks until the second plate. I Can not say it was bad, but I was looking forward to the velvet buck, not the restaurant at the bar of the hotel.. if it’s not going to be open for lunch, why do you have the option to book a table at that time? Disappointed but it was a ok.

   Overall disappointed in our visit here. First time to the St. Regis hotel and had high expectations for their dining that were not met. Service was really slow, waited 25-30 minutes before we had our ordered cocktails arrive. Our appetizer arrived very quickly (Calamari) and was okay. We ended up cutting our night short and leaving after the one drink and appetizer. Would not return or recommend. However, the bar near the lobby is far better in service and food, would recommend there.

   This was an incredibly romantic experience, perfect for our anniversary! We had a “Private Yurt Fondue Dinner” that the Velvet Buck at the St. Regis in Aspen offers. It was beautifully decorated with rustic accents, candles, two blankets, an acoustic guitar and an electric fireplace to set mood. The Yurt is warmed by two radiators, but you still need a basic layer sweater. Although we had the whole yurt to ourselves, it does seat about 8 people so excellent for groups as well. The fondue menu was delicious overall, the only thing I was not crazy about was having to cook the meat in “oil”, (so basically fry it), instead of a broth, but there’s a descent amount of food with all of the ingredients to cook for $130/ea. There is a la carte menu as well and a good list of wines and drinks. Make sure to reserve in advance!

   Arrived at 7 o’clock. Didn’t even get water until 7:30. Drinks came at 7:45 after I complained to the manager. We were told that they were short staffed but if so they shouldn’t have taken our reservation. Nevertheless, the food was quite good. The mushroom gnocchi appetizer was creative and delicious. The duck breast was perfectly prepared with an interesting sauce. Dessert of lemon cheese cake was unique and delicious. Would I come back? Probably, but……

   I don’t know where to even begin. Matthew, the head of food and beverage, and his team provided an EPIC night for our family. We still talk about what an amazing night it was, months later. Thank you. You and your team are incredible.

    Lovely experience, staff were attentive and delightful. Old fashioned service without being stuffy. Ambience was peaceful. A lovely dinner. I would definitely return for another meal. It was also great to get a time if 7.15pm to eat dinner.

    We absolutely loved our dinner here to celebrate Valentine's Day! The staff was so friendly and accommodating to our allergies as well which is always so so appreciated. Next time we visit Aspen, we will be back!

    We were waiting at our table for 10 minutes before somebody acknowledge that we were sitting there, the options are limited and the food quality is mediocre, we asked for a tomahawk steak medium and it was rare even when we send it back one time, the calamari were burnt to a crisp, very disappointing not definitely what we were expecting at the st Regis hotel

    I would not go here again. The food was Ok, but they overcharged us without telling us. It’s $130 per person which is outrageous for fondue in the first place. We were a party of 6 people. So we could select different items and not all eat the same thing, which we specifically asked the manager when ordering and she said yes 3 people could get meat and cheese and 3 seafood and cheese. But when we got the bill they charged us $130 x 6 plus for 4 cheese fondues?? Why? We were supposed to get 6 cheese fondues included in the $130. We also noticed there was a very small amount of cheese in each pot and were wondering that maybe the only gave us enough cheese for 4 not 6 people, now we that we were right!!! The waitress was completely useless. We confirmed that her only responsibility was our yurt, but she was never there. We sat there for almost 4 hours for 3 course fondue, an hour between each one. Ridiculous! This is the St Regis, but the service was from a 2 star restaurant

    The room was large but not very cosy. The food came in good-sized portions but not well cooked (calamari was over done) and not very imaginative considering where the restaurant was located. However, the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. There are better places to eat in Aspen.

    This was a bad experience. Seated at our reservation time. Polite and helpful hostess/ coat check. Once seated we did not see a waiter for 45 min. The water gents filled our glasses at least three times. Hardest workers in the place. Asked for help from the sommelier - he gave decent advice on the bottle. Wine was lovely. Poured the first round and then decanted the rest. He did not return with the rest of our wine for 30 min. And the first poor wasn’t huge. We finally got to order after being there an hour. Appetizers took over 30 min. Same with the meal. And NO ONE came to check on us. The place was active but not busy. Half way full. After requesting to see the manager he finally came over and offered to comp the wine which was nice. When the bill came the wine was not comped. We had to ask for the manager again. Too bad. We were expecting more at the restaurant in the St Regis.

    The Christmas buffet has a great variety of food. And the food quality was excellent. But the service can be better considering it is a restaurant in a five-star hotel. Especially the Asian lady at the check-in counter rushed my husband and me to the table while another waitress hung jackets for my three kids. And when we finished our dinner and were ready to get our jackets, the Asian lady completely ignored us, so we had to get the jackets by ourselves; she didn't even check if we got the right jackets. She shouldn't be working in St. Regis.

    Christmas Eve dinner - we had the fix menu which was expensive (4 courses). We were very disappointed with the food. Most of the dishes were tasteless and with lack of creativity. The pasta was too hard the the dessert was very basic. We wonder how such a prestige hotel allows such a mediocre dinner in the most important day of the year.. The service and the ambulance were very good as expected.

    There seemed to be a lack of training for the wait staff. Used plates and utensils were not bussed away for 20 minutes. One server pored water over one of our dinners by mistake but neither apologized nor acknowledged the event even when told. Food came out of the kitchen in a very haphazard fashion.     It is a bizarre restaurant. No windows … deep in a pretentious hotel. Harp player, ambience that tries too hard and Filled with the affluent rich who are soulless. Great place to people watch if you like watching lady Gaga wannabes and women who are too old for their leather pants and stilettos. The food was good however but it took too long and many items are overpriced. If you want an Aspen ‘experience’ this might be it

    The menu needs a lot of help!!!! WE were the only ones in the restaurant that night. Felt bad for the servers. Ridiculous for a 5 star resort. You should do alot better. So many restaurant choices with great food in Aspen. VELvet Buck dinner menu is awful.

    Had high expectations for this due to setting in the St. Regis but the room was nothing special it’s used as a breakfast buffet in the mornings, the service was extremely delayed our drinks took a long time to get and our food order took an hour. The food was ok small portions of trout, bland vegetarian dish, good steak but by the time it arrived we just wanted to get out of there. There were only a couple of tables busy so it wasn’t an issue of being overwhelmed. They did comp our meal which was nice but still posting to be fair to others who may be consider Velvet Buck for dinner.
