We've been to La Vaquera a number of times going back to their opening. Food and service have always been excellent. This time, the service remained very good but the food was just ok at best. The steak was overcooked and surprisingly tasteless which has not been the case at LV before. Potatoes seemed overly greasy/deep fried. Some of the otherwise impressive shrimp/prawns in the appetizer were partially frozen solid. Perhaps just an off-night for the chef and team, but at these prices, it's not unreasonable to expect excellent food. We are confident next time will be better and will be happy to write an excellent review when that happens.

We sat outside which was perfect. The food was amazing. But what was really outstanding was the SERVICE. Our waiter Brison was awesome. There was tiny glitch with one meal (out of 8) that was corrected immediately by Brison and then manager also checked on us. Staff seems so happy doing their jobs and eager to get things right. Great vibe and great food and service. Definitely on our list of places to bring friends for a great meal!

Service ended up ok, but took a while initially. Then, I got a call from my credit card company that my card was fraudulently being used with 2 transactions afterwards. The last place I used my card was at this restaurant. They have a claim and investigation- maybe it’s someone from the restaurant, maybe not, but I’m bummed it happened right after. Cornbread is amazing. The brisket sandwich is nothing special. Meatballs were ok, but the sauce they’re in is really good.

Walking in to the restaurant we were greeted by a smile and friendly conversation. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. Looking forward to our next visit.

We ordered the wedge salad, mushrooms, and surf and turf. Everything was great, lovely atmosphere too. We’ll be back soon!

I went with a table of 8 and we tried many appetizers. The octopus was fantastic but a small portion for $26. LOVED the cornbread. The meatballs were just ok and the beet salad had a bit too much peppercorns. And I like spicy. My trout was very tasty but I felt the $49 price tag was a bit much. Husband had the pork chop and while it was HUGE, he said it was average on taste. My friends had the ahi poke app as an entree and the tuna if more kibble bites size than chunks. Tasty but off from expected poke. Drinks were very good and the place is beautiful. This restaurant is divine to sit in or patio but you have to take the good with the meh 🫤. I will try it again.

Very slow service, while not being busy enough to warrant it. Drinks took forever (1 cocktail, 3 beers) and the food took a long time. No app plates brought out until the runner dropped the app and then had to go get them. Asked for salt when food was dropped and waited 5 minutes for it.
