Very nice server. Steak was delicious but the French fries we’re greasy. The server explained it was because they use fresh potatoes. Now, obviously that is not correct, I cook plenty of great French fries an home. The oil was not hot enough, so either crank up the fryer temperature or put less fries in the fryer so the fryer is not over crowded and the oil Tempe drops.
I think I have made for my new neighborhood gem. I will admit that I got there for a 5 o’clock seating, and the restaurant was empty. It was a Thursday evening however, but it worked for me as I’d like a quiet space. There is even an outside dining area. I was greeted, seated, and treated very well. The menu is limited, but the choices are good. The execution was good, also. I would recommend this place
The food was very disappointing- my main dish was inedible and I sent it back. This used to be our favorite restaurant, but not anymore.
Casual, fun, good food. Had a very nice time. About 15 mim before we left, a group of about 10 came in and were seated at a table next to us - VERY LOUD. Glad we were finishing up, as it made conversing at a normal level impossible.
Friday night spontaneous dinner in hood. Octopus was yummy. Mushroom cups were a good call but expensive. Pork hop was flavorful, but tough, not my usual go to. Maybe that is the norm. B+. Server was friendly but minimally engaged. B. Wine glasses a D-.
Still looking for “that place” in our hood.
Valentina was a delightful surprise. Food was delicious, ambiance very cute. It was a step above yet still felt like a neighborhood place. We loved it and will definitely be back to try other dishes!!
Everything was good but the dining room was cold! Need to cozy up the place for winter :)
Love Valentina, but the lights are simply too much. No reason they should be at such a high setting.
Very cute spot! A little noisy with the train going by, but typical for this area. Note that they only serve beer and wine. I’ve been three times and always enjoy it, but it is a bit on the pricey side for the value in my opinion.
Everything was excellent. We had the salmon, pork chop & chicken plus spicy Caesar salad. Nice selection of beer & wine. Service was amazing. Can’t wait to go back. Thx!
when we have out of town guests we head to Valentina. The food and service are always excellent and love the build out. The fish is an excellent choice.
Valentina is a charming bistro with a covered, open-air patio on Pacific Coast Highway. My husband and I recently visited for our weekly date night. I loved our time. We enjoyed the seasonal soup and meatballs to start. The house made Kombucha is mellow and mildly sweet with a floral aroma. The menu is focused which means everything is fresh and flavors are exceptional. I can’t wait to return!
I love this place but I was sad the changed their muscle dish. The desserts are amazing!
Nice place, some unique wines and dishes on the menu. Meat and cheese board was good, the muscles nice and the mole mushrooms were unique. They did forget to send the octopus, but overall are a great dinner.
GREAT EXPERIENCE...I LOVED THE EXPERIENCE......GREAT FOOD..
Our friends and I had a great time at Valentina! We split the cheese & meat board as an appetizer and a bottle of wine, and the board was a generous portion of selective salamis and prosciutto, jams, spices, pickled veggies, bread, imported cheeses, and fruit. I ordered the chicken palliard as my entree and the chicken was so tender and delicious, and the arugula side salad was very fresh and tasty. We split two bottles of a red wine from Oregon and then I ordered their house Sauv Blanc and it was so crisp and yummy. Highly recommend the Housemade Churros with Mexican chocolate — so decadent!
Food was good, service was a little slow. Every time the train went by it was very loud and we had to stop mid conversation and pick up after the train passed. Overall enjoyable.
Such an amazing restaurant with excellent food. Great atmosphere and Extremely friendly staff. We had such a great experience and we will definitely be back.
this place is so cute and cozy. The skirt steak is my all time favorite. and churros...................YUM
Very nice for a date. Will be back.
Very nice atmosphere, although loud train does speed by from time to time). Food is good. Service is great.
Excellent pulpo, steak, and wine!
Fun and cozy spot. Really good food. That nice combination of casual but special. Looking forward to going back.
We had a good time with friends at Valentina. My salmon was delicious. Spicy Ceasar salad was a good start and plenty to share. The cucumber citrus salad was small for sharing but tasty. Wine in tiny glasses seemed odd but we did drink it!! The noise level was quite loud but it was a Saturday night and everyone seemed like they were enjoying themselves.
Great food! Great ambiance! We will definitely go again!
Limited menu. No bar. Service was fair. Nothing special.
Good atmosphere, so so service, good food. Will return
We love walking down to Valentina. The service is always friendly and knowledgeable. We started with their new fall appetizer with burrata and persimmon, delicious. Then for dinner we shared the chicken, fish and Mac and cheese. Loved it all. We will be back (again).
My first visit and I can't wait to go back again. Excellent service and the best spicy ceasar salad I've ever had. Also had the meatballs which were delicous as well. Perfectly paired with a nice glass of pinot noir from Willamette, OR. Well done!
Yummm! Great service, great food! A new little gem on 101!
Great restaurant, very cozy, with delicious food and good service. A few little slip-ups here and there but nothing major.
Well we were told the food was yummy but I need to disagree on the COCHINITA PIBIL. It was really a carnitas dish. There was no achiote flavoring on the meat which we were looking forward to enjoying. Therefore either add this ingredient or change the name of the dish.
Great food and service! Will definitely be back soon.
Amazing vibe and great food.
Best value restaurant in North County.
I have now been to Valentina several times and love it. It is charming, inviting, unassuming yet casually sophisticated. The food is great! The service is consistently friendly and authentic. The wine list is limited but reasonably good (no hard alcohol).
Try it. You will thank me!
We were late for reservation and staff very accommodating. Food quality, selection, value were all exceptional. Attractive facility.
Three of us shared several different plates and everything was really delicious! Not only was the food delicious but it was a little unusual and fresh. Service was great and it’s a lovely place.
Hip vibe, great food, friendly staff.
Really neat spot. They offer a diverse menu and really cool daily specials.
We had the Flatbreat w/anchovies and Macaroni (not traditional) for shared starters. Really delicious.
The steak frites dish was amazing. The steak was quality and cooked perfectly.
We will continue to dine here!
Valentina is a lovely new restaurant. After viewing the online menu we decided to try it out...and we are so glad we did. The ambience is warm and inviting. The service was very attentive. The food was really, really delicious. The crudo was a favorite. The charred octopus was also very tasty, as well as the burrata tomato salad. My husband had the grilled salmon with broccolini and really liked it. My son and I had the chicken palliard, which was so good. Valentina is a winner and we will definitely be back!
