Urban Meadow is proud to serve great fresh food in a fantastic location, nearby Kensington Gardens and opposite Hyde Park, we are an all day dining venue open for stylish farmhouse fare and superb drinks from breakfast through to late night. In addition our spacious patio area provides the perfect calming environment for al-fresco dining.

Wherever possible our food is sourced locally and we have an extensive selection of beers from London Breweries for a true taste of the city. We also offer an array of wines from around the world, fresh juices, a wide selection of teas and freshly made Coffee.

Our menu is designed for you to choose any style of meal at whatever time of day. Our grazing dishes can be sampled as a light snack and can also be eaten tapas style, while our selection of mains and desserts can be enjoyed by those who prefer a multi-course dining experience.

Afternoon Tea is a meal composed of sandwiches (usually cut delicately into 'fingers'), scones with clotted cream and jam, sweet pastries and cakes. Interestingly, scones were not a common feature of early Afternoon Tea and were only introduced in the twentieth century. Urban Meadow is serving the traditional afternoon tea daily from 12 noon to 6pm.

The girls in the cafe are wonderful. Cheerful, efficient, so obliging. They make the restaurant a great place to be in. The food is good too, tasty and well presented and there is no waiting to be served. You don’t feel rushed. There is plenty of space between tables and overall.

Breakfast is normally available until 12pm, but was closed at 11am. The lunch menu is very limited and uninteresting (burger, pizza, sandwich) and the service is not very responsive. The terrace is pleasant, however.

Place was totally empty which makes sense now. Wasted opportunity of outdoor area. Most items on the menu were not available . Waiter was friendly but took a while to get us menus etc initially. Food that did arrive was underwhelming. Definitely wouldn’t go back.

We booked a table for 11:15 for brunch. The website says that breakfast/brunch is on until 12. There’s also a huge sign outside that said “breakfast”. When we walked in it was an empty room with a few hotel guests sat around and cleaners hoovering and the breakfast bar empty. Eventually a waitress came out and said they only had a lunch menu which wasn’t what we wanted / had booked for. We left and went down the road to another restaurant that served brunch. It basically was only suitable for the hotel guests which is a shame because I’ve walked past it many times and wanted to pop in. If the website had been updated or if we were unable to book then it would’ve been fine and we wouldn’t have wasted our time.

We went for Afternoon Tea around 4ish. The picture in the Wowcher is not the same afternoon tea as we’ve experienced. Firstly, we weren’t given a menu of choices for the 11 different types of tea(as indicated in the wowcher), it’s just 3-4 choices of tea from a waiters mouth. When the tea was served to us, we we’re given a wooden stirrer- it was appaling! I had to ask for milk and a teaspoon. Second, the cakes and sandwiches are so-so nothing special. There was no mini buns as shown in the picture. Lastly, prosecco was suppose to be included in our tea but the waiter said that it’s not available. They’ve offered us any drink from the bar instead. Overall, was dissapointing and we won’t be coming back again.

I used my Groupon Voucher to treat my sister and myself for high-tea. The venue is nice, especially because we had such lovely weather and the weather was good. The gentleman that served was very pleasant and helpful and I love the selection of the high-tea. I would definitely go again. I hope to give them 5 stars next time. I 3-stars was because I found them just to be a little unprofessional in some areas.
