Our server Nicole and bartender Joe are absolutely amazing !!!!
Loved it! Great experience and loved the setting.
Food was very fresh and expertly prepared and served.
Where to begin. We have been big fans of Urban Farmer in the past. It was one of our "go to" steak places in Portland. Unfortunately, I think that has come to an end.
The chopped salad, while good, looked like some poor tired vegetables were lightly steamed and put on a plate. The 14oz ribeye (Carman Ranch) was ok at best. Ordered medium rare, it came out gray. No pink or red to be found. Anywhere. Looked like maybe it had been in the freezer or dry age case since pre-pandemic. It luckily was semi-tender, but wow. More like a $8 steak than a $60 steak. And salty! Like someone just dumped the salt shaker on top of the steak.
The sides. Mac and Cheese were good, but for some reason topped with vinegary tomatoes or peppers (couldn't tell) that didn't match up at all. The potato tart, meh. They did a great job on french fries.
Dessert was fine. The pastry chef at least hits the mark.
Just glad we brought our own bottle of Napa Cab, because that was about the only thing that made the meal memorable.
Service was just OK. It was bizarre that the server seemed to be unaware of the steak selection. We had a 14 oz Ribeye and 8oz Tenderloin. There's only one variety of each on the menu, yet she asked and which one do you want? Uh, there's only one of each type.
The music was loud. And I don't mind louder music. It was hard to hear at our table with the Talking Heads at a high decibel. It's even worse given that at the Nines, the restaurant is located in an atrium, so a little sounds goes a long way.
We won't be back anytime soon. So disappointing from previous visits. Hopefully Sage Hospitality sends in the emergency team from Denver soon to see what the heck has happened here.
Outstanding food and service. A very special place.
Thank you for the glowing review, Anya! I'm thrilled to read about how wonderful your dining experience was with us. Thanks for choosing Urban Farmer Portland and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
We ate here for dinner and for brunch the next morning. It was a great atmosphere and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant even if we weren’t staying at the hotel.

The experience was amazing! We had initially reserved for a party of 6 but the other member of our party had to fly out at 6am. They were very accommodating, we were seated in a really nice area it was was very roomy, we have a pretty big family, the waitress was very nice, she told us about the shrimp and grits which wasn’t on the list but worked out beautifully since that’s what the Birthday Girl wanted in the first place, the foos was amazing, I plan on coming back to try the Eggs Benedict but we tried almost everything else on the brunch menu, the restaurant is amazing, spacious and so open, such pretty colors and a lot of seating, overall experience was awesome! Thank you we plan on coming back

This place was my top brunch spot in downtown before COVID shutdowns. Since re-opening the menu is limited and far from where it was. I had the French toast which was three cake like pieces of bread dusted with powdered sugar and some cherry jam smeared on the plate. Very underwhelming and disappointing. I told the server about my disappointment and they didn't do anything about it or offer me anything else.
Their potato roti was delicious!
I went here for brunch on a Saturday, it's on the 8th floor of a hotel. The view going up is beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the service was great as well. I have a lot of food modifications and they were happy to help. I got the farmers breakfast and somehow the kitchen messed up and gave me a lot of extra food, and they didn't charge me for it! Overall a great place!
Love this space and happy to always have excellent service. The food was delicious. We went early on a Saturday morning - no one in the DR- which helps with sound. Thank you for the wonderful service.
The service very attentive, the food was amazing, very cozy atmosphere.
The food and ambiance were delightful! The service we received was above expectations! We’ll be back!
Nick was awesome! He remembered my guest from previous year visit! Food was fresh and recommendations were spot on!
We loved our server (maybe Stephanie?) And the busser Francisco!
We enjoyed the experience but my partner didn’t love her omelet
Had a birthday breakfast. Always a great time here
Service and food was amazing from the beginning to the end. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon.
Everything was spectacular!
Food, ambiance, service was great.
Our sever was amazing. The food was even better! Excellent atmosphere. Will re
Our lunch was very relaxing and the service was great. The Eggs Benedict was one of the best I ever had. Fresh made English muffins and a very generous portion! Would definitely go back
We love to come have brunch here. The eggs Benedict is very good!
Loved the food and service! Very pleasantly surprised to find this gem right inside the hotel we were staying at.
What a wonderful Brunch Menu and a delight to find in the middle of our beautiful city. Will definitely be back!
Went for brunch and all of us except one( group of 4) ordered breakfast, it was delicious, hot and large portions. One person ordered lunch ( burger) possibly the timing in relation to breakfast dishes, but it was cold and a bit undercooked and also expensive. Our server was awesome and kept our glasses full. Very nice environment and not crowded. I will return.
Beautiful space and the brunch was wonderful. They don’t have a large menu but they have a great variety that would appeal to most palates.
From the hostess and greeting to the bussing, service was superb. Really enjoyed Nick, our server. Great personality and top notch service. Overall a very nice evening.
Came to celebrate my husband's birthday. This place used to be superb. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive, so no complaint there. We ordered 3 steaks and the kitchen screwed up all 3 of them. Medium well instead of medium rare, no seasonings. It's a rookie mistake. For the money they charge, the steaks should be prepared perfectly. We got charged for a side dish that we ordered but was never served. We pointed out and they fixed the bill with no problem. I accidentally spilled 2/3 of my drink and had to order another one to replace. They didn't offer a complimentary replacement or any discount. Full charge. Once again, no big deal, but when they charge top dollar, one is expecting a different level of service.
The server was very rude and was very rushing. She didn’t even ask if I wanted any appetizers or any dessert. Just seemed like she didn’t want to be there at that moment in time.
We got Nick as our server and he was amazing! Helped guide with the menu and made it so fun! The bar tender Joe was also great and helped us with pre dinner drinks! We had some allergies at the table and the Sou chef came out to help! Comparable to a 5 star meal I have had in NYC and the service a 10!!!
The charcuterie board was great but both mine and my dates entree’s were under seasoned.
Not sure if it was a bad night for the chef but every single dish had issues. Ordered the bone in New York strip Medium Rare and it came out well done, my wife ordered the mashed potatoes and they has some kind of OVERPOWERING condiment that they were inedible. Clam Chowder soup was cold.
Service on the other hand was very good.
Great eggs beni w/house-made English muffin.
We had a wonderful dinner. Urban farmer is a great restaurant!
Service was nice
A bit slow on the reorder on the drinks but all and all I will definitely return
the restaurant was not crowded. given the seating location i requested. my companion ordered a 6oz steak cooked medium well. i specifically asked the server if the kitchen could cook steaks to order. he told me they could cook steaks any way they are ordered.
meals arrived. mine was fine. steak was cooked medium rare, not medium well. i didn't send it back because we were there to dine together. sending it back meant i would eat alone or let my dinner get cold. my companion ate around the edges of the steak and took the rest home to cook it properly for lunch the next day. urban farmer bills itself as a steak house. great steakhouses cook steaks to satisfy the customer, not the kitchen. there is no excuse for the undercooked steak. either the meats they offer are the cheapest cuts that become tough if cooked past medium rare, the person cooking the steak doesn't care how it is cooked, or they don't have the skill required to achieve the requested doneness. i dine at urban farmer on a regular basis (when they are open)
and i always enjoy my meal. when they are selling that steak for $39 it should be perfect - no excuses. when i want my next steak i will go to el gaucho. suggest you show this review to the kitchen manager and the person who cooked (?) that steak.
Loved our experience at Urban Farmer. Wonderful service and staff
Atmosphere was awesome, music was fun, food was INCREDIBLE. Service from Nick was some of the best me & my family have ever had. Great first time back at a restaurant & will be tough comparing any outing to this one for the near future! Order the dry aged ribeye if you can.
