The meal and the service was excellent. I was a bit disappointed in the Caesar salad, as it was a bit watery. Everything else was perfect.
The ambience and design is nice! We went for brunch/breakfast on a Sunday.
My husband food was ok... he ordered the crab cake Benedict. I ordered bacon with potatoes and the pastry option (blueberry muffin). The muffins were very very average... it was like the ones you can buy at a supermarket or gas station but small. The potatoes were super greasy.
The tea is Sever in a big tea pot but only one tea bag is given therefore you will drink a very watery tea. Coffee was ok
Dustin is a great waiter that helped to acquaint us with the venue, the menu and selections. He was personable, knowledgeable and attentive. The porterhouse steak was very flavorful and tender. The ribeye was tough. The atmosphere is fun but noisy.
My wife and I try to make it here for date night at least once a month. The quality and flavor of their food is always top notch and their service is superb. While I'm a fan of the steak you can't really go wrong here. They also make one heck of an Old Fashioned.
Nick went above and beyond to make our twins 21st birthday extra special.
Absolutely lovely experience. It was not what I was expecting. It is located in the NINES hotel, and it is in the middle of the hotel courtyard. I was expecting a small portland farm to table bistro, and this was not that. However, it surpassed my expectations on every level after the initial 'why am I in a hotel' moment. The service was on point and gracious, the ambiance was very cool and style-driven from the moment you left the elevator, all through the hallway and into the actual dining room. The food was where everything really came together. We ordered a variety of cocktails and plates and each was fantastic. I will return often.
Quite spendy but very delicious
Fantastic food, fantastic service!
Excellent menu and service. The wait staff were kind and attentive, provided great recommendations. They get additional points from me with their decor. The jars of pickled veggies look great and are actually functional. I look forward to going back.
Excellent seating at a corner table of choice with exceptional service. Food was a little different as the selection was enhanced by a new chef. Having eaten here many times for various types of meals, this one was particularly delicious. Love mixing up the menu more. Thanks for doing that. My companion loved the UF’s version of huevos rancheros. Avocado was a nice touch
Great steaks as usual! A couple of the sides were warm but not really hot on arrival, so they cooled quickly. Not a huge issue, still 4 stars at least!
I would love it if the UF bar crew could put a margarita through a blender.
Food was good, if a bit over priced. Our server was great, but food runners didn't tell us anything when bringing our plates. Bussers and server assistants were the real star of the show, very fast, very friendly, very productive.
Enjoyable! Food was tasty, ambiance good, service on-point. This was a business lunch and the noise level was low enough to allow us to converse and conduct business. We both enjoyed our meals and the value was good.
Overall, beautiful place. Cooked my duck breast perfectly and the desserts were amazing. They did a bad job cooking my wife’s steak though and for a $55 steak it needs to be perfect.
Urban Farmer is our favorite place for brunch especially for specials occasions. The ambiance, the food and the service all together makes a delightful enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!
No validation, hotel parking cost me $30 with tip at lunchtime. Mediocre service, food, ambiance... There are better spots to eat.
You can count on excellent service and food at Urban Farmer. The cost is significant but it’s a great experience every time we go, which is about once a year.
Really nice atmosphere with the open Atrium. Liked being in our cozy area of the restaurant. Staff were personable and efficient. Food was very good. The canned corn bread was very unique and delicious. We especially liked the special Surf & Turf. We ordered the creamed spinach which was also very good. We would recommend Urban Farmer to our friends and will return.
Over priced and style is way too trendy for Portland. Doesn’t fit with the city.
The 18 ounce dry aged New York steak was phenomenal!
Valentine’s Dinner. Got reservations in advance because they are typically busy. However, was sat in small corner. The service was average but the waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu including drinks which was appreciated. Farm to table food was amazing.
Valentines place was full but we were treated like we were the special couple by our wait staff and the manager really made for a wonderful experience
A very cool look to the restaurant. Only they have problems, the food was very plain. Nothing unique, and compared to the thousands of other restaurants I have eaten at it would finish in the top 50%. It was just bla! The pork loin was dry, tough and flavorless, for being smoked you couldn’t tell. The $60 steak I had was awful, how can you ruin steak? Don’t waste your money on this place there are hundreds of very good restaurants in Portland this isn’t one of them.
Nice location in The Nines hotel. Food was just fair. Waiter suggested the special thin cut Ribeye. Not very tasty, over cooked and overpriced at $70.
Superb food and service. Only ever so slightly marred by the loud couple quarreling next to us.
This was the first time to Urban Farmer and it was amazing!! This is a great restaurant, food was delicious and the seating was comfortable. We will definitely be back.
My dinner experience was exactly what I was looking for... Intimate, quiet enough to hear my dinner companion, and the food and service were exceptional. Based on the set up I can understand some other comments about the brunch service. That tends to be a much louder affair, and with the extremely high vaulted ceilings I am sure it gets really loud. If dinner is any indication of the food at brunch, I'll come back anyway!!
Disappointed - wanted a birthday cake for special occaision - otherwise food and service was awesome - very expensive
Food and service was excellent. The ambiance was pleasant but the seating for four was at a long table so that others were nearby. I prefer a booth which is more private. Unlike too many restaurants today, the noise was not a problem. The prices were high although not out of line for other steak houses.
Service was slow. Restaurant wasn't super busy. Eggs Benedict was cold and the eggs hard. Shame, really nice hotel.
The food is amazing. We particularly enjoyed selecting our own cheese from the cheese cart, thank you Alder!
We found the meal very nicely paced allowing us to enjoy our meal as well as each other’s company. We never felt rushed so they could turn over the table - excellent service - thank you Devon!
Absolutely delicious food. Steak was perfectly seasoned. Everything on the menu looked delicious and unique. It was difficult not to order every dessert they all looked interesting and delicious. Hope to come back soon so I can try more.
The ambiance was great, the service was excellent, but the value was not too great. I ordered a 30-day aged New York strip, which tasted fine, but not very tender and a little dry. She ordered the King Salmon, which was fabulous and the dessert was superb (Butterscotch Sundae). All in all not bad, but too pricey for the quality of that steak.
I love the restaurant itself and the overall feel. The food is good. For the price i would expect larger portions. Also, most of the menu is a little too different to me. I would almost rather you have more traditional items on the menu and not make everything soooo unique
Our server was awesome!
The food was so very good. We started with the Fois Grois, best I've ever had. Then my wife shared two entrees, having the Duck Confit (also the best I've ever had) and the NY Strip Wagyu sliced. Our server was excellent, recommending a wine he thought would suit our tastes, based on what we had told him. It was not extremely expensive, but extremely enjoyable. Only negative is the space. The atrium ceiling is so high, it's just two open...not intimate. If they could do something with that, it would be perfect.
My review won’t paste... I’m emailing it.
I was less than impressed with the seating as it was basically the hotel lobby. The food was good. You do have the hotel guest creeping on your dinner dates.
We got there 15 minutes early and were thinking we would end up at the bar waiting but the staff quickly found us a great table. The ambiance was up beat and modern with a ton of ceiling room open to the floors above. The cheese board chef special was amazing and they even have a fromager come out to walk us through the cheeses available. Super cool.
We ordered the chef’s choice steak sampler and it was perfection! The sides (brussels and a mashed potato pie) were yummy.
Great place for a date night or just a night out with colleagues or friends.
Wonderful food and impeccable wine list!
