Upstairs at Pier 38 is inspired by the rich history of Pier 38, where you can enjoy locally caught seafood sourced from the renowned Honolulu Fish Auction, along with USDA Prime Steak. Our Culinary Team collaborates with Chef Nico Chaize to add their own creative touch to the menu, creating French-inspired, island cuisine.

Experience our cozy lounge setting, designed to be a "home away from home."     It was our first time dining here. We try to dine at different restaurants when we can. The menu isn't overwhelming. Our server Anthony was great....very personable and knowledgable and informative with the menu. Great place for two. Highly reccomend Upstairs at Pier 38.

    First time Easter Brunch held at Upstairs @Pier 38 so they need to resolve some issues. Prime rib was perfect, seafood tasted fresh but poke needed a little more flavoring. Our table didn't seem to have a waiter assigned to it so we had to constantly flagged down staff for service (drinks, utensils, refills, etc). We also had to finally ask for the bill cause no one was coming to tend to our table. Overall, food was ok, but the service could have been better. (Once we got some help, staff was accommodating).

    We were so confused on who was our server. At the start we had to wait long for someone to take our orders. Continuously changed our server. Food was good and price was reasonable.

    Located at pier 38 restaurant complex, 2nd floor. Most tables have decent view or pier/harbor. salads and entrees were delicious, well done, not too salty. We had the French onion soup, which was delicious but a bit too rich; beet and pear salad, which was excellent, sea bass with miso sauce, which was out of this world; and filet mignon, which has quite good. Service was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. Dessert was small but excellent. Only issues was prices were pretty high--most mains were $40-75. Overall good for special occasion or date night.

    Reservations were made upon opening and the restaurant was not busy. They had us waiting over 15 minutes past our reservation time before seating us. Staff was polite but food took long.

    The food items we ordered were all very good. The baked Brie was very tasty. Our entrees were all delicious. Service was excellent from all of the wait staff. Very attentive and friendly. Thank you, we enjoyed celebrating our birthdays!

    Far and away one of the best high level gourmet restaurants in the Hawaiian Islands. Everything was impressive, from the high quality of the food to the superior service.

    Always an awesome experience! I had to call to indicate that two of the three couples were going to be late, and discussed if we should adjust our reservation. The hostess was quite accommodating and said she’d change the reservation , but it was quite early that it wouñd still be easy to get a a great table when everyone had arrived. Lovely meal indeed! All three couples got the Misoyaki Chilean Sea Bass with it´s Miso Caramel’ and it is definitely a 5 star do over!!!!
