My wife and I really enjoyed this place, the setting was amazing the service was great and the food was second to none! Definitely going back and letting friends and family know!

We got an orange mimosa caraffe and two soul food plates. The mimosa tasted old and sour. Even the server tried it and said it was nasty and said the orange juice that was used was old. Ended up switching that for a different flavor. The soul food plates were DRIPPING with grease (quite literally). There was so much grease I couldn’t finish my food. The cornbread tasted old and frozen and the yams were tough. Overall this may have been the worst meal I’ve had here. I left still hungry.

Black owned businesses done right! Food was divine! Service was amazing I mean suggestions were to the T and the food was 5 star for taste! Pleasantly surprised given that it’s 5 spots in one but can’t wait till we go again! Free entertainment next door. It was a pleasant way to spend our anniversary and we actually got a free yummy bread pudding dessert! Way to go Upper Kirby/Five Central y’all did that!!

The food was delicious and met everyone's expectations. Everyone had a great time. The service was fast and very attentive. The vibe and music were good.

Was a nice restaurant. It wasn’t that busy when we were there however our main entree took a little over an hour to come but when it came it was hot and delish. Luckily we were able to sit on the patio and smoke hookah while we waited. Our server wasn’t that great. She was nice but seemed to forget about us several times during the evening. Overall a nice place, I would give another try.

The food was tasty. The fried chicken was crispy, the mashed potatoes creamy and the broccolini appealing and delicious.

Food was very good. Unpleasant surprises came with the bill which stated checks over $100 got 18% gratuity automatically added. Looking carefully once we were home, the amount was 20%, not 18%. Then a 3% charge added for using a credit card. Then, tax was added to all of this. Had I added my own gratuity after the bill tallied, I would not have had to pay tax on gratuity or credit card charge. None of these charges were explained either in Upper Kirby Bistro's website, Open Table when we made the reservation, or when we were seated or order taken. We will not return.
