Top notch in all ways..service server menu..perfect.
We had a great brunch at Union Kitchen. The food was great and so was the service. I would definitely come back for brunch.
The waitress was not very friendly and seemed rushed to get us out. The fried chicken sandwich and tuna tacos were delish, everything else was mediocre.
My boyfriend and I were there for a date night. Great food and atmosphere! Can’t wait to go back and try out their happy hour.
Everyone was so nice.
Solo guitarist/singer whose music was way, way, way too loud. And not relaxing, as in hard rock (The Who etc). Requested that he lower amps but didn’t happen. So we left.
Great food and wonderful staff. Fun place to sit at the bar
I love this place, inside and outside. I have been to this restaurant three times this summer and ordered different dishes all three times -- and all three times the food was excellent. Marla was a perfect server -- attentive without being intrusive (or neglectful) and had perfect timing. The noise level from the restaurant next door was deafening at times, but not Union Kitchen's fault. Great food, great service, competitive pricing. I'll be back!
Fish and chips were raw in the middle. Enough said.
service a bit slow but totally understand no help is available
We ordered appetizers, a salad and an entree….they brought us all of the food at once…which was not ideal…otherwise a very enjoyable evening
Had a great time celebrating a birthday.
I LOVE Union Kitchen!! Great menu, cocktails and atmosphere. The menu has something for everyone, feels familiar but has their own twist on it. Their NY Strip is one of my favorite plates in W Hartford. I substitute the amazing fries (they are insanely good, but I’m a low carb guy) with their delicious Brussels Sprouts…a fantastic appetizer to share as well. Hey families…they have a wonderful kids menu. Really good portions at a value, $5-6. We usually invite family and sit in the corner table inside, but this time we sat in their expanded outdoor area which was lovely. Definitely one of the top spots in West Hartford Center.
Great menu, nice diversity of choices. Service was great!
No complaints on our end… Food was wonderful!
This was my second time at Union Kitchen. Everything was excellent once again. Cannot wait to go back, the next time I am in West Hartford.
Grabbed a reservation last minute off Open Table not knowing anything about the restaurant but it had great rating - which is obviously well deserved as the food and service were fantastic !!!! Would def go back again !
The food and staff were both amazing!! I would definitely recommend this place!!
Food never disappoints!
Food was terrible
An evening out with my partner and mom.
The atmosphere was good but a couple of issues with the food. My boyfriend had inquired with the server before requesting a change for the fry chicken on his sandwich to be grilled. The server said that was not an issue she had that adjustment in, however his meal came with fried chicken so obviously the adjustments were not made. My partner is the sweetest of person so he didn’t want to make it an issue so he picked around his sandwich to avoid health issues. My mom ordered sticky rice with a fish, however it was a runny wet rice the fish drenched in it. The crispy Brussels sprouts I got was good, the Calamari a bit soggy. It’s a nice location for outdoor dining. Am thinking they probably had a busy kitchen and also with Covid nothing is normal for now.
We enjoyed our last visit to Union Kitchen. The menu has a great variety, and our server was very friendly and helpful in making recommendations. Given the rising prices of food we feel the menu prices are very reasonable. We appreciate the fact that all staff are vaccinated, however I’m not sure I agree with them being forced to do that. Also don’t agree with them having to mask up again in the next week or two. We understand the desire to provide a safe environment but at a certain point everyone needs to accept the fact this virus is going to be here for years to come. Vaccines are available for those who choose to get them. Don’t force staff members to wear masks which are very uncomfortable when working in a restaurant setting.
Megan was an awesome waitress, the food and cocktails were fabulous, and sitting outside on a beautiful day was wonderful!!!!
Went out for a girls night. Ate outside because it was a beautiful night. Our server came over right away with water and our cocktail order. We had great appetizer, pot stickers, fried calamari, roasted Brussels sprouts and lobster bisque. Two of us had the rigatoni with the chicken bolognese, one had short ribs and one had the half chicken for our dinner. We were full so we didn’t have dessert. It was a Friday night and they had live entertainment. A fun night!
Last evening was my first visit to Union Kitchen. A friend’s daughter is a food blogger and recommended it. Great ambiance, very friendly and perfectly attentive server (Tanner), and delicious food. I had the seared swordfish and it was perfectly cooked, accompanied by warm Yukon gold potatoes, blistered tomatoes and leeks. Yum! My friend had a beautiful (huge!) arugula salad with cheese (Feta, I think), candied walnuts and blueberries, and seared tuna tacos. Everything was beautifully prepared and presented. We sat inside near the open windows. They also have outdoor seating. The food offerings range from apps to soups and salads to hand-helds to full entrees. Something for everyone. I’ll be returning. I highly recommend!
Casual vibe on a Friday night. Highly recommend the truffle fries! I had the boneless short rib which was super tender and delicious. My companion had the snapper. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Would return. (FYI - There was live music 6-9, which while good, was a tad loud at times for dinner conversation)
Great lunch, festive, great menu.
Great food, excellent service. Thanks very much for having us.
The happy hour food offerings included a delicious guacamole with chips and good quality beers. The dinner portions were so nicely prepared and delicious. Service was very attentive despite eventually becoming Saturday night busy.
This was my first dining experience at UK. Before entering the ambience looked pleasant and inviting...unlike a few of the other restaurants nearby. Getting a reservation was easy...unlike some of the other nearby restaurants. Food was good, but service was lacking in friendliness and attentiveness. But I'm willing to give a pass because I understand things are difficult at this time. Hope it gets better by my next visit.

I had to wait over 10 minimum to be seated.
The waitress didn’t know the menu, the food had too much salt - had to return it. The waitress was not attentive, and didn’t even ask if we want dessert before giving us our bill.
I will not come back
The food was excellent and our server, Megan, was outstanding.
Truffle fries are to die for and Michael the bartender makes a KILLER margarita
We stumbled on this location as we were walking around West Hartford and so many restaurants required a reservation. After stopping and searching Yelp, we found Union Kitchen. The pictures of the meals and menu looked good. Our server, Emily, was wonderful! She understood we were not in a rush and allowed us to take time to enjoy the amazing food!! The lobster bisque, hummus, swordfish, pork chops and braised boneless shore ribs were exceptional!! If you want a great food location and perfect service, make your way to Union Kitchen.
I made a reservation on OpenTable for today (July 5) and it was confirmed, but when I showed up with my party it was closed. Understandable that it is closed because it is a holiday, but not sure why I was able to make a reservation and under the impression that it was open.
The pork belly appetizer was amazing. Love that it came with a fried egg. I had the rare tuna sandwich and it was very tasty. Huge serving of fresh French fries. Great service. Definitely recommended.
Outstanding! Hostess was wonderful and seated us at a booth per our request. Our server apologized for a short wait (we didn’t feel we waited at all). She was the only morning server. Our food was delicious! Everyone loved their meals and had leftovers to take home. I would definitely return.
Aside from the live music, the evening was great. The space was just too loud.
The food and service were outstanding. We have had consistently great experiences at Union Kitchen.
