Food and service excellent. Did find the hostess rather unpleasant and unwelcoming but the rest of the experience was great!
We recently moved to the area and this was our first time dining at Uncle Yu’s at the Vineyard. Friends had mentioned how delicious the food was and they were right! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the pot stickers, mixed chow mein, and triple crown dish. The drinks that paired with the meals were equally tasty. Can’t wait to go back.
I gained 2 pounds, but it was a delicious meal.
Each time I go to Uncle Yu's continue to prove itself worthy of a return. It is the only place I know that has Crab fried rice. The vegetables are always cooked just right. We had s waiter in training, but service was excellent.
Nice place for special occasions bu pretty pricey for casual out to eats.
I made a reservation a month in advance for an anniversary dinner with my girlfriend. We got to Uncle Yu's and spoke to the host and she looked around at the tables like she had forgotten about our reservation. We were then seated outside in the 95 degree weather without being asked if we'd like to sit inside or outside. Overall the food was good, but our experience was sullied.
We ordered three dishes but they were not able to get the request correct and got us one additional dish as well.
Ambience and taste was great!
A hit as always, when Derrick is working we try to sit on his section , hard to beat his level of service and knowledge of the menu and wine list! Phenomenal as always! Thank you!
Instead of sitting outside in the heat, we sat at the bar to eat. Had crab cakes for an appetizer which were very good. For dinner had the fried rice with crab and Wagyu beef with orange. I didn't realized the latter would be deep fried. Could not really taste it. It was good still! Had an older Chardonnay which was suggested by the bartender and it was a perfect pairing! For dessert, had the flourless chocolate cake which was decadent. I always have a great dining experience there.
The place was sparsely filled but we had to wait for service and then for our food and ultimately we had to wait for our check. The young man who waited on us was pleasant but that is the only thing pisitive I can say about a very disappointing, over-priced experience.
Great meal and service as usual.
Always an outstanding meal at an outstanding restaurant.
Consistently good. Excellent food quality, taste and presentation.
It was great!
Love Uncle Yu's... The Lobster Shumai are not to be missed. Tried the Orange Peel Beef for the first time, excellent sweet and spicy, very yummy. Fun to go before a concert at the Bankhead Theater!
We had a party of eight and decided to order family style. The appetizers, Lotus Chicken and Pot Stickers, were the perfect starters for the group. Main courses included orange beef, sautéed string beans, honey walnut prawns, kung po chicken and rice. All the dishes came out quickly and hot. Everyone was satisfied with the portions, with only rice left over. The cappuccino tartufo and hazelnut torte were the big hits for desert.
Nick helped with the wine selections...Cuda Ridge merlot and a Steven Kent Cab paired with dinner. Alegre Koden Rioja was perfect with desert.
The servers worked as a team, filling glasses, delivering dishes and removing serving platters.
Can't wait to go again.
I have enjoyed everything I have tried at Uncle Yu's. This time I came back specifically for the Crab fried rice. It is the best there! We started with Baked Bass appetizer. Sooo delicious. It's even better with Prosecco. We also added Broiled shrimp and vegetables and we shared scallops. This entire combo was like a taste of gold and enough food to carry away for another meal.
Our friend from out of town was definitely impressed.
Always great food and wonderful service. Can get loud dining indoors.
Food, beverages and ambiance were great. Disappointed in our server, Derek. He was uninterested and inattentive.
Thanks for another delicious Friday Night!
Daughter home for a visit.
Food was great but certain staff were not friendly which made it uncomfortable since the majority of the staff were white and we are Black.
a very nice place for celebration, first time to visit and was not disappointed
Food was so good and the service was excellent they were very friendly and helpful.Definitely will be back😄
Food too salty
My wife and I had Crabmeat Stuffed Prawns, BBQ Sea Bass, Beef with Asparagus, Pork Fried Rice and Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables. All dishes were excellent. We took home enough left overs for a second dinner at home.
We eat lightly at night and found the choices here very good. The crab-stuffed shrimp is a must-try. Amazing flavors and textures - it's just a great dish. They elevate the most normal Chinese food. Kung Pao happy family includes scallops, shrimp and Wagyu beef. You really taste the better flavor with that beef.
We didn't drink, but the wine list looked great and there were so many other dishes we wanted to try. It's a bit of an oasis in a busy place and felt luxurious. It was a little cool, but their patio area is definitely lovely. A large city parking lot is available just before you get there, making parking easy.
We had a reservation for 3 at 8:30 pm and expected a nice dinner with our friend. Unfortunately, we had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes to get our food after we ordered them and some of them were already cold. No follow up from the server, no apology. It was very disappointing.
One of my favorite places to eat in Livermore. The sea bass is absolutely incredible! I get it every time. Everything was great as usual.
Server was quite busy. Kitchen forgot our soups (or server never put in the ticket for them). Food is always good.
Very clean and spacious, speedy service, great food and amazing bartender!
Lovely patio table with a really attentive server. Food was excellent as always. Love the place!
Fantastic meal. Great service. Love this place.
Delicious food, as always! And the outdoor patio was lovely!
Always good food and enjoyable surroundings. Nice place to catch up with old friends.
The evening started with a very knowledgeable waitress. She helped us get drinks that complimented our meal and introduced us to some of the changes in the Uncle Yu’s menu.
Fantastic food and service. Great wine selection. May want to skip the desserts.
Great food, nice ambience (we sat indoors for lunch)! Loved the dumplings tray with a variety of dumplings. Pan seared scallops were delicious! Food quality and presentation are superb. Look forward to going there again.
Post pandemic reunion with a close friend. Food was great. As usual. We ordered 2 apps and 4 mains. Singapore noodles is always a must for us. A must go to place in Livermore if you’re celebrating a special occasion. NOT your garden variety Chinese restaurant. Uncle Yu’s is primo!
