We are Uncle Julio’s gold card members: we eat there a lot. Or we used to. The last several times we’ve been, the service has been so incredibly slow that we’ve left vowing not to come back. But it’s hard: it’s very close by and our kids love it. So we keep returning. And we keep being disappointed. Food is yummy, but we consistently wait wayyyyyy too long for our food, and drink refills are virtually nonexistent. There must be a party room behind the kitchen because the servers disappear for long periods of time. We are very hopeful that this trend will stop because we truly do enjoy the food.

I don't make restaurant recommendations any longer. With social media, EVERYONE THINKS they are a restaurant critic, when in fact, I WAS both a published magazine critic and a high-volume restaurant manger. So...I know what I'm talking about. The think about Uncle Julio's is the service. Host was superb, but the service staff....almost to a person...lacks polish and awareness. I guess they just don't consider serving worthy of their full attention or faultless grooming or friendliness. This restaurant is not the only place that suffers from this. Sometimes, I wish the robots had already been invented to wait on us. At least they wouldn't act bored.
