    Multiple dates available
    Our tasting menu is an individualistic, seasonally-driven experience celebrating Vancouver Island and paying homage to our Chinatown home. The menu is constantly evolving --dictated by the seasons, the farmers, and the whims of the culinary team. While most dietary restrictions can be accommodated, due to the intimate nature of our kitchen, we are unable to fulfill requests for sesame, soy, or finfish allergies. For all other dietary restrictions, we request 48-hours advance notice so that we can prepare to welcome you. The tasting menu is 6-plus courses, priced at $118, and we encourage guests to set aside two-and-a-half hours to fully enjoy the experience.

    We had a lovely evening. It was an anniversary dinner and we were treated to bubbles on arrival. Then we enjoyed a tasting menu dining experience. It was wonderful. Everything was tasty and beautifully presented. And I was so pleased because I would be completely unable to make any of the dishes at home. Exquisite is the word that comes to mind. The service was superb with incredibly knowledgeable staff on food and wines which were paired par excellence. Definitely the place to go for a meal to remember.

    Consistent with our first visit last year, the tasting menu and wine pairings were superb. Highlights were the delicately poached halibut and the rib eye steak courses. Service was very gracious and welcoming.

    We went to Ugly Duckling for the first time lastnight and it will not be the last time. It was such a special experience with a unique tasting menu and very attentive and focused service. The food was incredibly presented and the flavours were stunning. Faye was excellent and provided great service. We will be back on our annual trips to Victoria for sure.

    This is my third time dining here. It is a must stop every time I visit Victoria. The Chef’s Menu is so well done. You can taste the chef’s creativity in every bite. The attention to detail by the entire staff at the Ugly Duckling is the reason I keep coming back. Bravo Team Ugly Duckling. See you on my next visit.

    Run. Do not walk to book the absolute best dining experience in Downtown Victoria: The Ugly Duckling. Every course in the 5 course seasonal tasting menu was superb. Rich nuanced complex flavors made each bite a gastronomic experience. Unmatched attentive service with courses paced just right. If Victoria could receive a Michelin Star it would be awarded to The Ugly Duckling.

    Our dinner last night (Sat June 7) at Ugly Ducking was simply sublime. I now have a new favourite tasting menu in Victoria, we will certainly be back. Plan for 2 hours, which is the perfect time to enjoy a wonderful dinner.
