Food was mediocre. Any dish with pasta was disappointing and flavorless. It tasted like it had sat for hours and was dry. The waitress took forever to get the check and kept forgetting to grab things for our table. We sat for a half hour waiting and never saw her.
Great menu, nice ambiance...very relaxed and comfortable. I had the eggplant parm sandwich and loved it. My husband also enjoyed is cheesesteak sandwich made with rib eye. Would definitely go back.
HATED the brussel sprouts!
Great service. Really fresh pasta. A little heavy on the garlic for the pizza we got. Good selection of local beers that were good.
The food was ridiculously overpriced for what you got. Not worth the money.
We enjoyed the restaurant! Waitress was great!!
The first time experience was okay. It seemed like a fine establishment for groups. The food was not necessarily memorable. The service was fine. Nothing too remarkable.
We stopped in on our way home from a week of family time in the mountains for a quick lunch. The food was quick and tasty!
Great place with even better service!! The food was fantastic and the ambiance was great as well
We had a reservation and they sat us early so we were happy about that. We had a server come over and greet us and bring drinks and take our order. Then we were given a new waiter... he asked for our orders again....? The restaurant was pretty loud and the patio door was open so people were just stumbling in off the street. There was loud noises coming from upstairs. The food was brought out and the meat we picked for our philly was wrong but our waiter didnt come out for a while so we couldnt fix it. The chicken parm tasted like it was a frozen meal microwaved. Our waiter was not attentive and used the excuse he was doing stuff in the back when we had to wave him down for a drink refill. Not worth the money and expected better from this place. Wouldnt come back
Food portions small compared to the price. Seating comfortable, great location, service very good.
Casual, but excellent food, drinks, and service! Will eat here again.
Passing through Asheville and grabbed dinner. We were very pleased with the food and waiter Harry. The Chicken Parm w/ pasta & Trout were delicious!
great food and service...well managed restaurant and service staff
The food was fantastic at Twisted Laurel. Our server was very attentive and helpful. He checked on us frequently without getting in the way of us visiting with our friends.
Angelica did a great job taking care of us! Host very friendly and everyone super helpful and friendly!
Good excellent. Inside and outside seating! Reservations a must!
We had cocktails there at one point during our visit to Asheville and it was wonderful! We had dinner there another night and it was awful. Our reservation was for 6 pm I believe, so it was early, but our waitress took forever to take our drink order. The service was just so slow and the food was terrible. I ordered a pasta dish and it tasted exactly like the kind of pasta that comes out of a packet and you have to add water. The sauce was watery. My friend asked that she have no onions in her vegetables, but was told that all the vegetables were already mixed and they couldn't be removed, which told us that they were fresh vegetables, but frozen. It was such a cute place though. Bad service and food.
The waitress was phenomenal. The food good in quality but small in portion.
Food was a huge disappointment. We started with the asparagus which just tasted like charred black pepper. Our waiter said all of the pastas were very good, however we found the Tonnarelli pasta to be extremely bland and tasteless. I needed to add salt to the entree and I am a person that hates salt. The shrimp were tiny and some of them weren’t even full shrimps. Overall, super disappointed because we were really looking forward to this place and a good pasta meal. Would recommend this place for drinks for the atmosphere but not for the food, so would not return.
Food was gross. Calamari was large chunks and tough. Out of most menu items and the entree I order was just like buttered noodles.
We thought the food was just ordinary. I had the Tonnarelli pasta dish and it tasted weird.
We had trout and pasta with pesto. Both dishes were very tasty, but the portions are on the small side.
Great outdoor patio. Good and drinks were fantastic.
Our food was great, however, the service was lacking. It appeared our server was extremely busy and took awhile to get our drink and food order. When our appetizer was served, we had to ask for plates. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice.
Birthday lunch with friends - great location, interesting food, fabulous service from Amanda. The charcuterie presentation was delightful - OMG Prosciutto butter!! I would expect this is a hopping spot for happy hour, dinner or late night too.
Honestly a huge disappointment. It was my birthday and the online menu was not at all like the menu when we got there. I’m a pescatarian and pretty much had one opt: Greek salad with no alternative protein available. The tomato toast was greasy and bland. Server was sweet but it was by far the most disappointing meal we’ve had while visiting Asheville. Oh well.
First we were taken to a table that was 2 feet away from the next one, when there were multiple tables available. We had booked a couple of weeks in advance! Our waitress took about 10 minutes to take our drinks order and a further 10 to bring it - yet the restaurant was more than half empty. We ordered an appetizer and they brought it out literally 2 minutes before the entree. The food was good. It was the best part of the restaurant, which was devoid of ambiance. If we ever get back to Asheville, we wouldn’t return here.
Our family of five chose this on a whim - it was one of our only available options. However we were thrilled with the experience! The drinks were quality, the food was great - definitely recommend the house made focaccia & pasta (bolognase & cacio&pepe) & also the mountain trout! The booth was comfortable & we also enjoyed the art work! Definitely recommend this place!
I'll start by saying we'll give this restaurant another chance, but next time we'll stick with the handhelds.
My partner was very happy with his entree: "PECAN CRUSTED CAROLINA MOUNTAIN TROUT Whiskey apples, lemon butter, mash potatoes $21".
I had the "TONNARELLI Butter poached rock shrimp, saffron & fennel cream
$19". The homemade pasta was good; however, the sauce was an unappealing brown color, only lukewarm and had no taste. I requested parmesan cheese and shook on a substantial amount to add flavor and salt.
Many establishments are struggling due to staffing shortages, which may explain the overflowing trash can and paper towels on the floor in the men's restroom. They were busy so perhaps this is a sign of good things to come.
We were traveling to Asheville and went to the Twisted Laurel for our first dinner. The focaccia bread was amazing. My husband and son loved the pizza. I had the smash burger which delicious. Good beer selection and great cocktails. Would definitely go back.
In town sightseeing and booked Twisted Laurel without recommendations. Food was great; limited selection of gin and tonic was flat. But, overall, would recommend. VERY casual atmosphere, more sophisticated menu. Homemade pasta excellent. Service was outstanding!
We went for lunch and both got Greek salads with grilled chicken. Server was very nice, service was perfectly fine. All good there. But the salads were pretty uninspired and left a lot to be desired. For the price, we were expecting more than a giant pile of romaine lettuce (very little to any green lettuce) with a few cukes olives and tomato slices thrown on top. You win some you lose some!
Brussels were amazing
The food was good but not exceptional. The service was ok. Once we have to take our silverware by ourselves as we were left without it.
Robin was outstanding ! She helped us with our menu, our Labrador’s menu as well as talk us through our cocktail options ! Great restaurant in the neighborhood!
Good was delicious and atmosphere was great and casual!
This is an awesome restaurant! It's especially great if you have pets. They have a pet menu so your dog can eat with you!
Great food and service.
Sauces/toppings were amazing, but food itself was overcooked/dry/tough
The food was mediocre at best. The gluten free pizza with mushrooms was horrible. The mushrooms tasted bad, crust and sauce not good. The Caesar salad was drowning in dressing. The Brussels were okay.
