   Slightly let down by the service, unfortunately. The food was good and initially the service was attentive and helpful. We were the only ones in the place at that point. Then there was a huge influx of people booked in for afternoon tea. Despite being told we would have to give the table back at a set time, the service didn't allow that to happen. Leaving that aside though, I'd recommend turquoise thistle as a place to eat. It was good quality and good value.

   Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Turquoise Thistle which we booked at the last minute. We were met with a warm welcome which stayed throughout service. Will definitely visit again

   Met a former colleague here for lunch - very quiet as there was no one else eating. Reasonable selection from the bar menu and lovely attentive service.

   Having eaten here before, I knew that the quality of the food was good but the service was even better this time round compared to the first time I ate here. The staff were very attentive without being annoying, the food was delicious and the wine was great too

   Christmas set menu did not have a decent selection (3 starters, 3 mains), I can understand this when there are large parties but the restaurant does not have enough covers to warrant this. The price for two courses was fine for the standard of food but the extra £6 for pudding is not worth it ( I had the cheese: two slices of scottish cheddar, a spoonful of chutney, five green grapes and four small crackers ). Despite this, we will give it another chance as its in a great location for Playhouse, the bar and decor are smart and comfortable, staff were excellent, the bar menu looked decent for quick bites and we would need to try the regular menu to comment properly.

   Food was good but not much choice due to Christmas menu. I opted for the steak from the Grill menu which was good but think they should provide a side salad or veg as part of the price, the pate is lovely but could have been a bit more generous portion. One of the waitresses was a bit off hand and opened the window wide, chilling my friend to the bone, it was chilly enough in the restaurant and she was not pleasant when asked to close it, this took three attempts to get her attention. Plus when asking for the bill I just just handed a piece of paper with the cost, it should have been on some sort of dish not shoved into my hand. But saying all that I would return.

   I was disappointed with this restaurant - it has a lot of potential but lack any atmosphere. The food was average and one particular member of staff was clearly demotivated by the lack of diners.

   We were booked for 7.45 and were finally shown to our table at 8.30. The food came out of the kitchen one plate at a time. (There were 7 of us) Needless to say some were no as hot as they should have been. It was a Saturday night and the were fairly busy but understaffed. The food however was all well cooked and the menu was very imaginative. Will give it another try on a week night. The setting and furnishings are lovely.

   Looking at the pictures online, I thought that this place looked nice for a nice romantic meal - How wrong was I, although the food was lovely with good value there was no atmosphere, background music or anything to suggest you were eating in a restaurant but as its attached to the Hotel Indigo - it was more like a Travelodge bar/eating area. My personal opinion is the food was good - with good value but if your looking for somewhere for a nice meal then I would not recommend this place.

    We enjoyed the meal and service was excellent. We had the grill special menu which was excellent both in taste and value.
