Tupelo Honey - Myrtle Beach
Our Southern spirit is infused into every bite of our flavor driven dishes. Our food is a revival of southern classics that create an experience so soulful even the cicadas would sing about it.
Famous Fried Green Tomatoes
panko-crusted fried green tomatoes, basil, roasted red pepper sauce, over heirloom grits with goat cheese
boneless & skinless honey dusted fried chicken thighs, milk gravy, basil, choice of two farm fresh sides
House-Made Fried Pickles
with garlic buttermilk ranch dipping sauce
Nice casual place, nice varied menu and drink selections. Had a great fired green tomato appetizer and the fried chicken was excellent
We had a wonderful time. The food, service and atmosphere were all exceptional. We will definitely go again.
Everything was great. I would definitely recommend the cherry limeade cider. The bourbon glazed meatloaf was excellent. The only problem was the noise level on the patio. At the restaurant next door, it got loud, but given that the Cowboys & Patriots football game had to go into overtime, I can accept it. 😁
We visited Myrtle Beach for the weekend and decided to try this restaurant because it was near the airport on our way back to Chicago. Make sure to make a reservation because they were very busy but we were seated right away with our reservation opposed to 35-45min wait without one.
Our waiter was great, great drinks and food was amazing! I had the Traditional Breakfast with an added waffle and it was a lot of food. The Rosemary Potatoes Cracklings were amazing and the Southern Hospitality Spritzer was a great drink as well! My boyfriend had the same drink x2 and Sriracha Honey Fried Chicken w/waffle which was also a lot and very good! We spent about $55 for us two. There is also indoor and outdoor dining and the both areas are extremely nice. Bathrooms were clean and service was great. They even kept an eye on our suitcases while we ate so we would not have the bring them to our table and in everyone’s way.
Definitely recommend this place and would visit here or other locations again! Try it, you’ll like it! We forgot to take pics haha
Had a reservation and was seated promptly. Waitress was good and attentive. Food was good. Would come back.
Most of the table had different versions of the chicken and waffles and they all were outstanding. Second visit on this trip to Myrtle Beach.
We really enjoy Tupelo Honey’s indoor and outdoor dining. Their menu for brunch and dinner are great and are seasonal. They have a good beer selection and we enjoy their margaritas and bloody Mary’s. Our pups enjoy their chicken and sweet potatoes too!
Drinks, service and atmosphere is enough to go and enjoy yourself with friends. Those are excellent! However the food was okay. Wouldn't recommend this place to a foodie.
Lunch visit and chicken sandwich was very good but hard to eat as a sandwich since it was so big.
Had a great meal here! Had the meatloaf and it was amazing and I eat alot of meatloaf..Their bloody Marys were not that good.. overly spicy.. otherwise a great meal and Great value.
First time visit and we will definitely be back. Good food, service and atmosphere.
Amazing food and location! Will definitely come back when we’re in town.
Our server TJ was warm, welcoming and efficient. Food was flavorful and presentation was fabulous. Excellent experience.
Food and service good. Server was so nice.
The only noise level was us five senior women. laughing and visiting.
Ordered the burger medium. First try, comes out well done. It took just as long to remake as when we first placed our order. I cut into it and...well done again. At this point I just ate half so we could leave. My meal was removed from the check, and I was given a burger to go with the promise it was properly cooked. I checked it at home, and it was seared on the outside and raw on the inside, but at least that worked in my favor when reheating. Wait staff and management were pleasant and tried to make things right. The bowl dish my husband ordered came out as expected and was enjoyed. Outdoor dining tip: watch sitting by the fence because flies were aggressive when food arrived - we did not notice the same for outdoor diners by the restaurant windows.
Had a great meal here and Denise our server was amazing
Great staff and delicious food
One of the best restaurants I've eaten at. Love how they try to locally source their ingredients. The grits with goat cheese side was incredible. The cast iron pork was so good! A high quality delicious restaurant all around, and great service!
Brunch was ok. Chicken n Waffles with all dark meat.. very disappointing. Sweet potato pancakes were amazing. Mega Mimosas were extremely disappointing. Service was mediocre at best. This is the 1st time being let down, so not a deal breaker but hoping next visit will be the experience were are used to at TH.
Can’t wait to go back! We did breakfast this time and it was delicious! My husband got the Shoo Mercy and I had the traditional breakfast. Both were great! The Potato Crackling that you can get as a side were to die for!
We were seated right away. Our server was sweet and attentive. And as always the food was fantastic!
Great experience as always. The food and drinks were great!
Get the biscuits!!!! Also recommend the fried green tomatoes. Life changing!
Very nice place to eat at. Ambience was really nice. Great food and good service. Definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Food was amazing! Service was excellent! Would definitely recommend.
Expected better quality, diversity in flavors not there. Fried chicken not memorable. Shrimp and grits without a lot of flavor. The restaurant was clean and ambiance was good.
I had a reservation for 7 but did not get seated until 7:20 pm and this was because I went and complained that walk-ins were being seated before I was. The hostess said she tried to text me but I received nothing from her and I was seated 5 feet from her so if she’d wanted to contact, she could have. However, my waiter was attentive and the food was good. It was my birthday so it was a pleasant experience.
Cute atmosphere; nice indoor and outdoor seating options. The banana pudding is amazing!
Based on some good reviews, we decided to try to Tupelo Honey on a Friday evening. With Covid still ravaging our nation, we requested outside seating. The first thing we noticed was the dirty concrete and broken umbrellas at the tables. Periodic power washing would do the trick here. That was strike one.
Our waitress, Nicole, was lovely, polite and professional. She was the ray of sunshine for what turns out to be a very disappointing evening. She gave us menus and took our drink orders. Unfortunately, their scotch selection was very limited. So were non-alcoholic options such as bottled sparkling water. Non-existent!
We looked at the menus, which were plastic coated, had seen better days, and weren’t clean. Strike two!
There were no specials, which was disappointing. We saw reviews mentioning great Brussel sprouts, and gave them a try. Basically, they were burnt Brussel sprouts with ranch dressing. Nothing terribly special. We both ordered the shrimp and grits entrees. The shrimp were not good quality. They were small, mealy and tasteless. They grits were fair at best. And that was strike 3!
When Nicole came to check on us, and noticed a good part of our meals were uneaten, we did tell her it wasn’t good. She offered to bring something else but by this time we had and saw enough to know The restaurant wasn’t for us. We simply paid and left.
I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but in the case of Tupelo Honey, it’s accurate. I have to question if Myrtle Beach is the forgotten stepchild of this restaurant group? Regardless, we won’t be returning.
We reserved a table for 6. 2 of our group were 7 and 4 years old. Everything was great. Thank you!
Food and service was excellent !!
Great atmosphere, music was low and really good. Food is good. Service and drinks are great! The pink mimosa is really good.
Restaurant was cozy and inviting. Service was superb. Anastasia was very personable and professional. Food was fantastic. Brussel Sprouts the best we ever had. Green fried tomatoes with grits were awesome. Would certainly recommend Tupelo Honey to anyone.
The only issue really was having to wait for our server to make it over to our table for the first time. But I do understand that the restaurants in our area are understaffed. But once he finally made it over he was very kind and attentive. The food was amazing as always!
The drinks and service were good. Food not so much-a little disappointed with overcooked eggs and dry chicken.
It was very underwhelming. The Brussel sprouts were delicious but that was it! Everything else was just eh and expensive for what you got. It was extremely loud inside and the iced coffee did not come with free refills.. you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere.
Excellent fried chicken, best we’ve had in quite a while. Our server was charming and attentive but not intrusive. The lighting was just right and the music was good and not too loud. We’ll definitely stop in again next time we are in town.
The food overall was good. The service was below average. We had the biscuits and the fried green tomatoes as appetizers. The biscuits were really good! The fried green tomatoes were just ok, the bed of grits they were served on was barely warm and lacked flavor. This is where the service went down hill. The wait for our entrees was 30-40 minutes, I was ready to just ask for our check and leave when they finally arrived at the table. The appetizer plates were still on the table so there was nowhere to put the entrees, we semi bussed our own table to make room for the entrees, she dropped the entrees and left. The appetizer plates were still on the table when I paid the check. The entrees were good and were hot but due to the long delay in their arrival difficult to enjoy. Has potential to be really good but seems to lack attention to details which can make or break the entire experience.
Very pleasant staff. Great food. Terrific accommodation for 2 granddaughters.
I’ll be back.
