Tupelo Honey - Downtown Asheville
We planned a couple of days away for the two of us. The food was great but we sat at the bar. I’m not sure but I think the ambiance could have been better had we been at a table. Get the fried chicken and the pecan pie! So worth it.
We had a wonderful experience at Tupelo Honey, our waitress Taylor was super friendly and we had the best experience. The southern style fried chicken and waffles was superb as were the shrimp and grits 10 out of 10 would recommend!!
My son and I had reservations here for bar seating, and both the service and food were fabulous. This eatery will definitely be on our must-return list!
Good ole southern favorites were excellent. Fried green tomatoes and fried pickles were great
So good we went twice! First time had the pork it was delicious.
Great food and atmosphere. Wouldn’t pay an extra 3$ for the ginger jalapeño margarita next time tho…. Get the original.
Always delicious! Great food , friendly service!
Have been to several locations and this one is a whole in the wall compared to the newer ones but to be expected considering it’s location and age. Again, we were seated in the back corner next to the restrooms. So my theory continues to hold up when booking with Open Table in some cities you get the bottom tier seating. Our server was delightful and not pushy despite the busyness of the restaurant. She kept our drinks filled and coffee warm. Lack of breakfast items was disappointing considering we got their at 10:15, it was our first time eating before lunch/dinner time. Food came fast but was just ok. Chicken was tender and tasty but was all dark meat. We would have appreciated knowing if white was an option even if there was an up charge. Avocado Toast was good but nothing special. Biscuit & Chicken bowl was ok, presentation could have been better. Which was the same with the waffle and chicken with sweet potato pancakes. Waffle was far better than the sweet potato pancakes. Waffle was fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. Pancakes did not have much sweet potato flavor and were chewy consistency. Not my favorite.
This place never dissappoints - we visit it every time we're in Asheville. Had the breakfast bowl - those crispy potatoes are amazing. I love that they now take reservations, which I would strongly recommend.
We decided on Tupelo Honey due to the ability to make a reservation. We were not disappointed!
Nothing major to report, not as charming or tasty as it nice was, good service.
Best fried chicken! Mac and cheese and peach coleslaw excellent. 3rd time there - excellent every time.
Dry chicken, overcooked man n cheese, green beans were rubbery.
Fried green tomatoes were excellent.
Service was slow.
Will not try again.
We loved this place!
Biscuits and blueberry compote were delicious!! Our server was delightful in spite of working a lot of shifts this week.
It was delicious but crowded. I would definitely recommend reservations if you plan on coming.
This was my third trip to Tupelo Honey and I enjoyed it immensely! I had the mahi-mahi and it was absolutely one of the best pieces of fish I’ve ever had. My husband had the bourbon glazed meat loaf which he loves! We both had the lavender lemonade drink and they were very refreshing! Our servers were so friendly and attended to our every need.
Best chicken and waffles! Also enjoyed the great non-alcoholic beverages. Fun atmosphere.
Tupelo was one of my favorites when we would stop in every couple of years, but unfortunately they’ve lost a bit of their mojo. They are now a trendy chain.
Awesome experience. And Shawn, our bartender was fantastic!
Everything was delicious and the service was excellent!!!!
Tupelo honey was delicious, but this area of Asheville is not fun to be in. I was actually scared walking to the restaurant. Pritchard Park across the street is full of strung out druggies and homeless. We saw a man putting a needle in his arm as we walked by. Downtown Asheville businesses need to be addressing these issues with the city on how to get these people out of there. All of the businesses will eventually suffer because of this.
I had the Blackened Mahi and it was very dry, other than that the rest of our food was excellent.
The service was excellent!!!
Great atmosphere, simply incredible food and drinks, wonderful service. Couldn’t recommend it enough.
Amazing food that you won't find anywhere else!
Such great selections on the menu. We had the brussels sprouts appetizer and it was so crispy and delicious. I had the bacon avocado melt and it was amazing. The rosemary and parmesan potato crips were original and the fries were the perfect mix of crispy outside and soft inside.
Our server Jacob gave perfect recommendations to everyone in our party. The food was absolutely delicious! This is always on my must do list when I visit Asheville.
Our lunch reservation was for 1:30 Sunday afternoon, but we were not able to get our table and were sent into the bar — a four-top for the six of us, so it started badly. From then on the service was excellent and the food was delicious (except for the string beans which were tough, fibrous and almost raw). It was also extremely noisy — difficult to talk across the table even when it was two small tables.
wonderful food and service
The food was absolutely delicious!
Great location too.
Really delicious biscuits and one of the best omelets we’ve ever eaten. Nice waiters too.
They were out of several items on the menu. The waitress was not very friendly.
Menu reads well, but the chicken wasn't as spectacular as the description made it out. It was moist but the breading was just ok, nothing to write home about. Friend had the half bird (sweet fried) and I had the Cobb salad with fried chicken and a mac and cheese side. Mac and cheese was ok, not really creamy, but ok. However the service at the bar was fantastic! Cute place, interesting drink menu. Worth checking out if there isnt a wait and you can grab a drink at the bar and maybe a quick snack, but not a must go.
Delightful across the board - good beer selection, delicious margaritas, unreasonabky tasty apps, good value, friendly staff.
Awesome food & service from James, our server. Loved the crunchy Brussels sprouts & fried cauliflower appetizers. Also enjoyed the veggie bowls. Healthy & so flavorful.
Great food and great ambiance!
Excellent food. Must get the fried chicken
Delicious Southern food, great service. Loved it!
One of the best brunches !!!! We enjoyed the avocado toast plate and the cast iron pork so very much !!!
As my 22 year old son says “it was fire!” He enjoyed the Mac and cheese waffles with fried chicken, ranch and pickles. It was good! I had the southwest omelet with potato cracklings and we all shared “Biscuits for a Cause” with honey and blueberry jam. Highly recommend! Great brunch spot.
Sriracha honey chicken and waffles were absolutely heaven!!
