Tuk Tuk Snack Shop is the brick-and-mortar restaurant from nationally-acclaimed Chef Sam Fore in Lexington, Kentucky. Fore began her culinary career with pop-ups in 2016 and grew to travel around the country cooking in Michelin-starred and James Beard-recognized kitchens. She was recently recognized as a Finalist for Best Chef: Southeast for the 2023 James Beard Foundation Awards and has been honored by multiple national publications.

Deeply influenced by Fore’s upbringing and culinary journey, Tuk Tuk Snack Shop’s menu thoughtfully marries Sri Lankan techniques and ingredients with classic Southern dishes categorized into unique mains, sandwiches, snacks, sides, and desserts.

Tuk Tuk is our favorite restaurant and we go as often as we can. The food is delicious and we’ve never had anything like it—but then, Sri Lankan Bluegrass fusion is a pretty original concept! The prices are incredibly reasonable too. We love the ambiance and fun, funky decor, and the owner (Beard Award finalist Samantha Fore) can often be found graciously welcoming guests and making sure everything is just right. One other thing I have to comment on: their mocktail selection is both thoughtful and excellent, and not just an afterthought like at so many other places. Cannot recommend Tuk Tuk enough.

A Must if you are anywhere near Lexington Kentucky. If you want flavor, this is where to find it. The cocktail special, Tessa, was just the right balance of sweetness. Everything we ate was yummy. And I love that they include the gratuity so that they can give health insurance to their staff. Supporting local businesses who have incredible talent is so important!

Sam, Chris, Caroline and Luke and everyone in the kitchen always deliver an exceptional dining experience and atmosphere! We have been regulars since Tuk Tuk opened over a year ago and have never had a bad experience. The food is innovative with unique flavors and textures and captures Sam Fore’s brilliance as a chef. The atmosphere is laid back and fun which creates a dining adventure unlike any I have had in Lexington! Sam also treats her staff with the respect they have earned and deserve for their excellence in hospitality! The drink menu is very accessible and friendly even for those who don’t want alcohol; Saddle up to Caroline’s bar for a real treat! Tuk Tuk is a gem and is not to be missed! Definitely make reservations, as the word has gotten out! Don’t miss out on this entertaining and delicious food haven!

Outstanding as usual. We love this little restaurant. Love Chef Sam and all of her creative dishes! We sure hope she brings back her celery salad for the summer!

This was our second time at Tuk Tuk, and it was even better than the first. Excellent cocktails, incredible food, and great service. You gotta go try the tomato pie while it’s on the menu!! The ribs were amazing as well.

Nice gem of a restaurant. There were four of us. We split appetizers and meals to try more things. Server was wonderful. Food is really good. Tomato pie was excellent!!

We shared four appetizers which were all exceptional. The tomato tart was a showstopper with several flavors blended into a perfect dish. The chicken bites, shroom toast and lentil fritters were all excellent. Will be having all of those again. Only wish was for a better dessert choice, but we were satiated anyway. Great place to eat with a variety of flavors and tastes.
