Tujague's - New Orleans
Lore states that brunch originated here, as did the Grasshopper cocktail. Homages to the restaurant's long and colorful history abound within the interior of the building from the classic 19th century architecture to memorabilia on the walls.
Menu items such as the seared gulf fish and the daily gumbo meld French traditions with New Orleans fare and flare. Our famous five course menu is still served nightly; but have no fear, the menu is no longer pre-fixe, so those less ravenous diners can join in too.
If you want a quintessential New Orleans experience filled with history and local fare, Tujague's is your place.

Shrimp and Grits
Parmesan stone ground grits, andouille, baby shrimp, roasted peppers, jumbo head-on shrimp, New Orleans-style BBQ Sauce
I ordered the speckled trout with almonds, red mash and seafood gumbo and everything was fantastic. I would go back again!
We're so happy you had a fantastic time. We hope to serve you again soon.
We had the shrimp and grits and the roast duck and both were awesome! Service was sub-par with being short-handed and inexperienced. Lots of confusion with the wait staff, but they worked hard and got through it. The great food more than overcame the poor service. Overall, a good experience and I will return.
We're glad you enjoyed your food selections, and apologize for the confusions with the wait staff. Unfortunately, we lost some staff after Hurricane Ida, and you visited on our 4th night of operations after re-opening, but shouldn't have impacted your experience. If you can provide more specific details about your visit we will address any and all issues. Thank you for visiting and your honest feedback.
Just fabulous. The food is Michelin quality (and I’ve been to lot of Michelin restaurants) and for the value it can’t be beat.
Thank you for the accolades! We are happy to have you as a life long guest.
The new (as of last December) location is bright, airy and cheerful. Staff was attentive and responsive. Aside from a slightly too sweet old fashioned cocktail, the fare was very well prepared and served. We had gumbo, barbecued oysters, and two kinds of poboys, both generous enough to provide a meal on our flight home.
I am very happy you enjoyed your visit. I will be sure to have our staff mention the Fall Spiced Old Fashioned is on the sweeter side. We hope to see you again soon.
They were so great the brunch food was amazing and the staff was fabulous! Will be coming back!
Thank you for dining at Tujague's!
We really enjoyed every aspect of our meal, thanks for a great evening!
Thank you for visiting, we hope to serve you soon.
We had the five course meal for dinner. It was the first night they were open after Hurricane Ida. The food was excellent. The wine recommendation was spot on. The brisket melted in the mouth. The sauces were excellent. We had a great meal.
Thank you for coming in!
First re-opening night, since the hurricane. From the moment we walked in, greeted with a smile. We had the patio to ourselves for about an hour, and it was fantastic. Our waiter Phil was fantastic! The meal was outstanding!!
Thank you for visiting. We are lucky to have Phil on our team.
Just a friends dinner and everything was Amazing!! The food was outstanding and the service even better. We sat outside on the patio and loved every minute of getting to catch up with friends. We are local and have so many choices of where to go to dinner but will definitely be back.
I am happy you enjoyed everything. We look forward to seeing you soon.
We had this on a Sunday night as a special that included unlimited chicken, sides, and Tujague's private label French sparkling. The chicken was served with two sides, roasted/broiled Brussels sprouts with pepper jelly and french fries. (not the thin-sliced potatoes served on top of the chicken). The sides were very good and the sparkling worked fine with the meal. The chicken was cooked nicely, all the portions were generous, and our servers (Patty and Phillip) were friendly and attentive.
Our disappointment was with the garlic-parsley topping for the chicken, the Persillade. It was very coarsely chopped fresh parsley and lots of very coarsely chopped fresh garlic (some pieces were 1/4-in. chunks). We like garlic but the garlic was bitter, too dominant, and there was little integration with the parsley. I think that if the parsley and garlic were finely chopped and better integrated, it would have been better. Also, I think that if the hot potatoes were served on top of the hot chicken and then topped with the Persillade, it would have been much better In that way, the flavors would be better integrated and balanced. The dessert of creme Brule and blueberry bread pudding were very good, as were the complimentary Grasshoppers, which was a drink created at Tujague's in the early 1900s.
Thanks again! We look forward to seeing you soon!!
We had a great brunch this past Sunday. Service was on point and our food was amazing. This is the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal and catch up with old friends. Being a local I have so many brunch choices but Tujague’s is my first choice.

Best service ever. This is my favorite restaurant now and I can’t wait to go back. The service was good and the filet was to die for! The turtle soup was interesting.
Delicious food for our first night in New Orleans!

Delicious food! We did the coolinary menu and everything was exceptional! Service was amazing too and very well-paced. Excited to go back. We also got an of the Fried Green Tomatoes and I definitely dreamed about them last night. Great experience.

RESERVATION AND IT WAS JUST PERFECT THE CROWD HAD NOT YET ARRIVED.
James, thank you for coming in! We are so glad you enjoyed everything!!
We had a great brunch in the courtyard. It was quiet. The Pims Cup was cool and refreshing. The menu is not large, but still hard to chose with a good variety of options. The Chargrilled Oysters were excellent! The biscuits are great. French fries stayed crispy. We enjoyed everything!
Adam, thank you for having brunch at Tujague's!
Slow start but once waiter knew I was there, service and food very good. Coolinary menu was great
This is the first time visiting the new location and I was really impressed. The bottomless mimosas and brunch were top notch. We also really enjoyed the chargrilled oysters as an appetizer.
Kerrie, we are so glad you enjoyed your first visit to our new location!

Mitchell, thank you for coming in! We are so glad you enjoyed everything!!
The customer service and food were amazing!!!
So disappointed, this was one of my favorite places in NOLA, now new location and food sucks
I am happy to hear your enjoyed our service. I am very sorry that the food didn't hit the mark for you! Your feedback is important to us. Please reach out to me with further details so that I can address any missed opportunities.
Everything was great! Such a nice experience and everyone was so friendly. Definitely will be back!
Lucia, thank you dining at Tujague's!
I don’t usually write reviews but from the minute we walked into Tujague’s we were treated like royalty! The food was amazing, we had the Creole Toast, the filet, and the shrimp and grits, the blueberry bread pudding and the creme brûlée. The service was even better than the food, if that’s even possible, but our server Brandon knocked it out of the park! We were celebrating our anniversary and he brought us complimentary champagne, then continued from there to chat with us, brought our food out quickly, then ended our visit with another complimentary after dinner beverage. To end the night of great food and service we paid our bill that in any other major city would have been $250, however ours was only $110 (1 app, 2 main dishes w/sides, a salad, 2 desserts, several drinks, and a cup of coffee) CRAZY GOOD! Thanks for the great night out!
We are so glad that y'all had such a nice evening in celebration of your anniversary!
Went for coolinary. First time in the new location. Service was outstanding. Beef app was tough and tasted rather like the pot roast at Cracker Barrel. The fried oyster app was very good with a tangy butter sauce, but the char-broiled oysters were bad; slimy and raw with no butter/cheese sauce. They really, really should take it off the menu and leave it to restaurants that really do have an open flame grill. The duck entree was very good; tender. The swordfish entree was ok; the fish itself was perfectly cooked but there was a strange selection of cut veggies on top and I swear the sauce was Campbells Cream of Tomato soup. The bread pudding was delicious and a nice large portion; the peanut butter and jelly dessert was just weird; sort-of peanut flavored sort-of cheesecake with cracker crumbs on top. Overall not worth the huge bill.
Thank you for your feedback! I am so glad you enjoyed the service, and disheartened that there food wasn't equally as good. I have shared your feedback with chef so that he can make any necessary adjustments to the recipes. I would like to invite you back, on us, to show that what you experienced wasn't up to our standards. There are many places to dine in NOLA and we're glad you chose us. Hopefully we can make this up to you soon. Reach out to Russell or Shelly for your next reservation.
Celebrated our anniversary with the three course Coolinary dinner. Great food. Great service. Great value.
Thank you for celebrating with us! We are glad you had a great experience.
Great Nola fine and causal dining experience in the French Quarter.
Thank you for dining at Tujague's!
Drag brunch was a great time for a bachelorette weekend! Food was very good & service was awesome. Our waiter was very prompt with our needs (table of 8!) and generous with the bottomless mimosas
We are glad you had fun! Thank you for visiting and your feedback.
WOW! What an experience. It started with Russell the Maitre D' who thanked us for a very short wait for our reserved table with two (2) glasses of complimentary champagne. From there, Mike, the GM escort us up to our 2nd floor table and we were immediately greeted by Ecco and Brittany, our Servers for the night. They were attentive, engaging and made excellent recommendations on what we might like best based on our comments and questions about the menu - they were spot on! The Fried Oysters and Seafood Gumbo were a great start; the Pan Seared Gulf Fish Decatur amazing; accompanied by the House Labeled Cabernet which was the value item of the night. The final course was a Blueberry Bread Pudding and Peanut Butter and Strawberries Cheesecake that to put it quiet simply, was sublime. In between, we were treated to a sampling of the restaurant's signature cocktail - The Grasshopper, which of course - was delicious. The venue, the staff, the service and the food were fantastic and we will make Tujague a must dine - everytime we come back to New Orleans!
I really do apologize that we fell a few minutes behind on your reservation. Thank you for being understanding. I am happy you enjoyed everything and we hope to see you soon.
Food is just ok. I’d go here for a drink and an appetizer and that’s about it.
My date and I came for what I thought was going to be a nice quiet dinner. It was anything but that! We were seated upstairs at a cute table right by the window but it was a very packed room and I felt like I almost had to yell to be heard. We were taking advantage of the Coolinary New Orelans menu. We ordered boudin balls as an extra app because I love them and my date have never tried them before. They were delicious! He had the seafood gumbo for the first course and I had the oyster Braden. Both were good. For the main entree I ordered the duck and he had the swordfish. Both were delicious and there was little left on the plate. To be honest, the highlight was the dessert which they actually tried to bring out when we were still eating our appetizers. The waitress was amazing though, very attentive and sweet. So for dessert I had the blueberry and white chocolate bread pudding and my date had the peanut butter and jelly cheesecake. Both desserts were amazing! All in all we had some really good food and if the plan was just to have a good meal, then it would have been great but the quiet dinner I had planned for us was an epic fail. Would still come back, just dont have expectations for an intimate dinner.
I am glad you enjoyed your visit. The room you were seated in has a tendency to get loud. We are currently exploring options to dampen some of the sound that bounces off the brick walls and wood floors. When you make your next reservation please let us know that you'd prefer something a little less lively and we will certainly do our best to accommodate you. Thank you for visiting, and we hope to serve you again soon!
