Service is outstanding every time we go. Food delicious and we are never disappointed. Outside seating was very comfortable and nice to have piano player singing carols and other music.

We have been going to Trulucks since 2011 where there was a Trulucks just a block from our condo in Miami. We moved to San Diego 2 years ago and to our delight we found there was one just a 15min drive from downtown. We found no variation in the level of service, the taste of the food, or the prices which is worth every penny for the experience you get dining with Trulucks. Our go to dishes are the sea bass on the crab fried rice, crab cakes, and Ribeye. All of the sides are tasty so just pick a pair for your main course. The wine selection is amazing as well as their signature cocktails. Whenever someone want seafood or steak with 5 star service and damn near perfectly cooked food I recommend Trulucks. The swordfish and king crab are two of my other favorite main dishes.

The food is always amazing and our waiter was super nice. The reason I had to give it low stars was there was an issue with the music. They sat us right in front of the music. The musician decided to connect two space heaters which blew out the fuse. We were in the dark which wasn’t a big deal, very romantic, we couldn’t see a thing but no big deal. The problem was all the fuss from the musician pacing back and forth on the phone complaining and being loud. Looks like some of his waiter buddies coming over and chatting with him asking what was wrong. We had like six people almost bumping our table they were so close. It definitely made us uncomfortable. I don’t understand why at this point after 30 minutes of this they didn’t switch us to another table. We tried our best to tune everything out. The musician continued for the rest of the night to just sit there on the phone complaining. Again, food and waiter were excellent and this incident won’t stop us from coming here. I just wish things were handled a little better.
Absolutely amazing experience. We dined here for our tenth anniversary and the experience exceeded all expectations. The server was very nice and courteous, she helped us with the menu and any questions we had. Towards the end of our dinner they brought in a complementary dessert and presented it in the most spectacular manner. A truly memorable experience!

Great service and food. We were celebrating and our server brought us a baked alaska at the end of our meal. In spite of the Covid restrictions we were able to still have a 5 star experience.
Got a call to ask my opinion the next dat and shared it was average (usually it’s amazing) and the caller said thanks for feedback and that was it. Surprised because I would have thought they would want to know more or follow up. Happy to provide feedback to the right person.
Wonderful food, excellent wine list, loved the Baked Alaska dessert, but charging for rolls and butter? Really?!?

a few days prior to our reservation, we were told we would be seated outside, and I asked if they would have heat lamps and they said yes. When we arrived we were sat next to a wall with no heat lamp remotely near us. It was chilly and took away from our dining experience. The entrees we ordered (Prime New York Strip and Miso Glazed Sea Bass) however were delicious. The Miso Glazed Seabass was by far the best thing we had had that night and recommend to any who visit here.
The Lobster Mashed Potatoes, was lackluster with it tasting like regular mashed potatoes, you can get at Boston Market with small pieces of lobster and sauce poured on top.
And without the warmth of the heat lamp, the cooling food was not a great comfort.
Credit where credit is due, our waiter was excellent and attentive and the Seabass is a must-have.
Stone crab was delish as were cocktails and everything else we had. Brian’s service was impeccable!

The miso-glazed seabass is the most amazing I've ever tasted. The service is impeccable. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
My friends and I have been here multiple times but this is the first time we've ever experience such crappy service. We were seated immediately which was great! Once seated, we watched our waiter stand around and talk to another waiter about non-work related things. We waited 10 min for him to finish his conversation before he came over to take our drink order. He didn't introduce himself and seemed very short with us. We were the only patrons in the dining area at the time and he barely checked on us. I think once he saw the distain on our faces and finally started to "try" a little. By then, we had had enough and wanted to leave. We usually sit in the bar area and will go back to that after this experience.

Had a great meal celebrating my daughter’s birthday. Service and server was excellent. This is definitely a special occasion place for me due to the prices. I have been there in the past and would go again.
First of all, even though it was a very cold night and we were concerned about being cold, we were very comfortable! Our server Jason was extremely attentive but never intrusive. The food was first class, as expected. We highly recommend the crab Napoleon appetizer! The branzino, ribeye and scallops were beautifully prepared and delicious.

i had reservation i got seated right away my waiter was very nice and polite unfortunately started to rain and we didn't get moved inside like other people and i had to leave my drinks and nice dinner. i still had to pay the full amount i never had offer a to go box i just got the bill handed out after started to rain.
We were celebrating my 80th birthday. The service and food were spectacular as usual. The baked Alaska for dessert was magnificent. This is probably the best place to eat for special occasions in San Diego County.
Derek, our server was informed and attentive. He had great wine and menu suggestions. I had the sea bass and added a stone crab claw. The husband had seared ahi and a claw. We shared the crab cake as an appetizer and delicious creamed spinach. This was our 35th anniversary and the restaurant gave us a delicious baked Alaska dessert. By far, the best meal I have ever had. This made my 35th anniversary unforgettable!

Michelle and I cannot think Derek enough for another amazing evening, and major compliments to the chef as well. Best seared ahi and sea bass anywhere! You also cannot beat the atmosphere and amazing sounds of Archie Thompson which makes this venue the hands down best experience in San Diego. Thank you everyone! See you Saturday. -Jason
