   This is a beautiful location. The Maple River flows just below, flowing under a covered bridge. This time of the year with snow covered ground on the hillside--need I go on. The food was very good, served promptly by an absolutely wonderful young lady. We actually asked for something prepared a little differently than offered on the menu and this was done with no problems at all. Thank you Trovato for a truly delightful meal.

   Delicious entrées and excellent service. Every single entree was well designed and executed. Compliments to the chef. Staff was very professional and genuinely nice. Love the setting with views over the creek. So beautiful! Can’t wait to come back!

   Fantastic imagination has been used when coming up with these plates. Very well done! Plate presentation is beautiful. The flavors of the food are spot on amazing. Staff very helpful and friendly.

   This was our first experience there. The food was OUTSTANDING. Sure a bit pricey but I don't mind paying for quality. The service was understandably slow as they were obviously short handed for the size of the crowd. We were told two employees were off with family issues and it made a noticable difference but everyone was hustling and it was both tolerable and explained. So they can get a pass on it.

   We attended the Valentine’s Day dinner. We started with a drink at the bar which was fantastic. The service was pretty slow for dinner, but our waiter was great. He did mention that they were down a couple of servers that night. The food was fabulous- my compliments to the chef. We will definitely be making Trovato a frequent spot for dinner. Love how the restaurant has been redesigned and the circle bar is fantastic. Can’t wait to visit when it is light outside as I know the view is awesome.

    Chef Dean provides a wonderful menu that consistently delights us. The bar’s mixologist continues to serve interesting special cocktails. Our server George was attentive, professional, and timed the courses perfectly. What more to be said? If you haven’t been to Trovato, please make it a point to dine there - you won’t be disappointed.

    50th wedding anniversary. Shamus was waiter and did a good job. There when we needed him and not when we didn’t. Excellent food. Nice visit by Dean. We signed up for next week’s wine dinner and invited friends.

    The entrées were delicious! Staff was attentive and fun. Dessert options we choose were not our favorites and not traditional Italian to our taste. We will definitely come again but may skip dessert.

    New Year’s Eve may not be a fair representation of the Trovato experience, but here goes. While our table server was helpful and attentive, the general service level was poor. We were not greeted for our reservation so after asking twice and waiting 10-15 minutes, we just found a table and sat down. Luckily we had drinks from the bar because all we saw for the next half hour was servers stopping by to apologize. They seemed to be adequately staffed for about 10 seated tables, but 12 or so staffers just seemed to be running around frantically. The menu was a special New Year’s selection and was a good effort, but the flavors were actually a bit overwhelming. Each bite seems like a flavor explosion rather than complementing each other. My biggest turn-off was the lighting. It seems staff arrived in the daylight, switched on all the lights full blast - then forgot to turn the down for dinner. I felt like I was being interrogated under a harsh lightbulb! And the price: after all this disappointment, we paid almost $600 for four of us (four meals, a modest bottle of wine and two cocktails).

    We had a lovely evening and the food was some of the best in norther Michigan by our experiences. It was great to see more than 60 people there. The staff appeared frazzled at times but we chalked it up to a multitude of things beyond their control. We are going back on the 6th as we enjoyed it so much!

    Very nice atmosphere, staff very friendly but just not knowledgeable in how to service customers. Drinks came I weird glasses, took forever to get and several little mistakes. Food was ok but no knock your socks off stuff. Place has potential but for them to survive when they are often the beaten path, they need to up their game plan.

    Our group had such a lovely evening - hard to believe 3 hours went by so quickly! We started with cocktails at the bar - and then enjoyed dinner with wine. The service was just right ... allowing us to leisurely converse - enjoy the wine - and not have to rush with food showing up before we had finished the shared appetizer and even with the entree's - plenty of time to finish before being served dessert. We 5 decided to just split the bill 5 ways as we all drank the bottles of wine ordered and each shared the appetizer and had entree's - and they easily accommodated us - doing the math for splitting 2 tabs of 2 and one tab of 1 - easy peasy. Looking forward to the wine dinners next year!

    A friend raved about Torvato at Hidden River Golf & Casting Club, so we had to try it. I can now highly recommend it. The ambiance, the food and presentation, and the top-notch cocktails will not disappoint, I promise. Chef Dean Grill is very talented. I loved the Wagyu short ribs, and the Spartan Margarita was perfect! I don't usually order dessert but couldn't resist the Lemon ricotta cheesecake with savory graham cracker, and blueberry compote. I'll probably dream about this dessert. It was that amazing. 🍽🍸❤️

    Everything was delicious. Our only beef was the lighting was waaay too bright. I do understand that you plan to install dimmers over the break. That would be a vast improvement. Other than that, the whole evening was delightful! We’ll be back!

    We knew ahead of time the menu would be pricey but the atmosphere, food and service was worth it. The view of the river against Fall’s beauty was an added bonus. Reservation’s recommended, even on a Wednesday night.
