About this restaurant

  • Great for fine wines
  • Good for special occasions
  • Neighborhood gem
2025: retained 2 Michelin stars!

Trivet derives from the age-old cooking utensil - an iron tripod placed over fire to support a cooking pot or kettle - reflecting the warmth and balance which forms Head Chef Jonny Lake and Master Sommelier Isa Bal’s values for the restaurant, as well as their working relationship.

From the very beginning of the creative process, Jonny, Isa and the team think about how food and drink work together. The menu features their explorations of ingredients, dishes and drinks from around the world, inspired by the culinary history and diversity around us. The wine list is set out chronologically, following the historic beginnings of wine to present day, with over 350 wines from classic producers to the New World, as well as acknowledging the root of viti-vinoculture with wines from Georgia, Armenia and Turkey.

As well as the welcoming main dining room, Trivet has a terrace, wine bar and private dining space. Join us also for Mondays at Trivet Wine Bar!

Really wonderful restaurant team - all working together to make the customer feel special. The menu is short but delicious (although a bit pricey). Superb wine list!

For such an expensive restaurant with two Michelin stars we were expecting much more. The restaurant is very ordinary looking and has little atmosphere or ambience. Some of the food was good but some was disappointing. The asparagus starter and side dish were woody and very chewy. The Turkish breakfast deserts at £25 each were little more than a dollop of yoghurt and a small piece of sponge. The mains were ok but nothing special. At over £800 for four diners this was an unimpressive experience.

Although the food was very good, the waiter service is extremely poor. Examples: some of my guests ordered sparkling water and some still water. The waiters did not pay attention to this at all and constantly refilled the glasses with sparkling water adding still water. Another weak point of the restaurant is that still water is available from the tap only. In addition, the waiters, walking behind my back and serving another table, kept pushing my chair.

What a fabulous dining experience. The food was amazing (turbot and venison that was the most tender ever!); the customer care was exemplary; and the wait team was so attentive. We loved everything about Trivet.

Michelin made a mistake : this is not a 2-star restaurant. Not according to the quality of the dishes, nor the quality of the service. The turbot had to die twice : once when being caught and a second time in the kitchen - the use of strong and hot spices (cayenne or pigment d'espelette ?) completely overwhelmed the delicate flavour of the turbot. When asked, remarks were simply dismissed. The chef apparently is always right. On price : the "starter" of olives, priced at GBP 8 (before compulsory gratuity), consisted of a small receptacle filled to the brim, with 8 olives.

The morel mushroom dish was unbelievable and the wine by the glass recommendations we had were perfect. Some dishes were fancy, others were just exceptionally well cooked. One of the best meals I've ever had by a long way.
