Trio Restaurant & Cafe
Very bad service!! First our waiter tried to get us to purchase a bottle of water instead of just a regular glass of water ( like I saw from another review ). Second we got our food an hour after we had arrived and it came cold as if it has been sitting for awhile (we had to ask if our food was coming). When our food had arrived we asked the waiter if we could get more water but he never came back until he gave us the bill!! The other waiter had to assist us because we didn’t even get utensils or plates when our food arrived. When the waiter gave us the bill, he was looking over the shoulder to make sure we would tip, SO unprofessional! He didn’t even give us any service, never gave us water even though he said he will just be 2 minutes, did not ask how our food was or if we needed anything, let alone gave us plates or utensils!! I could tell we were being treated differently as everyone around us seem to be getting a decent service by this waiter so I’m not quite sure what was going on there. Very disappointed, would not recommend to eat here, never coming back to this place. I would give it 0 stars if I could.
Quiet atmosphere, very cordial and respectful service with a desire to please and satisfy. great variety with the menu and enjoyed our meal. I will return.
Great experience! Food, service and ambiance excellent. Zaida our waitress was amazing recommending different dishes to us as this was our first time. Chef came to our table asking how everything was and then brought us a plate of baklava in the house. Overall a great evening and will definitely be returning! Thanks 😀👌👍
The service was friendly and punctual. The mood was festive and lively. I would suggest Trio to a gathering of friends or a date night.
Warm hospitality and very gracious wait staff were both plus's as was the delicious appetizer (3-choice) consisting of hummus, baba ghanouj, and fried calamari. French fries were cooked nicely but unfortunately, over-salted, making the rest of the dinner suffer. The outside ambiance of the patio is nice with street views and comfortable seating. However, the garden areas looked like they hadn't been well looked after with peeling paint / wood stain and large weeds growing in the garden areas making this area feel a bit neglected.
Terrible experience. Although we had a reservation we were told it would take 30 minutes to open the kitchen and heat up the ovens. We didn't stay but went to another restaurant nearby.
The servers, and owner are kind and friendly. Sometimes we get dinner here too and the food is yummy!
The food was very good. I also discovered a new non-alcoholic malt beverage. Good thing we did not know the restaurant also is a shisha bar otherwise we may have given it a pass. The smell from the shisha was not noticeable after a while, unlike cigarettes.
We were looking for a new experience, something that we hadn't tried before when I came across Trio Cafe, Egyptian quisine. When we arrived we were greeted and seated immediately. The waitress was attentive and was ready to describe and advise on the menu selections. We ordered and the Chef came out to meet us and gave us a free appetizer and told us that the salad which came with the meal would be upgraded as well, they were delicious. The meal was a sampling of the kababs with rice and pita bread, also very tasty. At the end we were asking the waitress what special desserts were available and she said not to worry and gave us free baklava to finish off our incredible evening. Thankyou Trio for a great experience!
Didn't look particularly sanitary. Thought we saw the waiter try to use his teeth to open a bottle of wine. Also didn't get anything to drink until after meal arrived. Not sure I would go back. Many places have similar food and are cleaner.
Food was fantastic, chef was attentive to my gluten allergy but the grill came with pita on it, so it had to be remade. Only one wait staff meant no drinks until the meal came out and very little attention. Our dishes were never cleared and we had to go to the till for the bill.
Food and service were meh!
Good sheesha bar, and group get together for a drink and a game.
Don't think we will rushing back anytime soon.
As close as you can get to a night in the heart of Cairo while living in Calgary. The three owners (The Trio) clearly enjoy hosting their patrons and take great pride in their establishment.
Our food was tasty and delicious, service was exceptional, and prices reasonable.
