Dinner was superb. The food was delicious, well portioned, and incredibly fresh. Having traveled to Italy many times, I felt I was back in Italian enjoying an evening of dining out.
The wait staff were extremely friendly, attentive and deeply knowledgeable about each dish.
Tresca is a Must when in Boston for an authentic Italian experience.
The food was soooo delicious. From the bread and oil to the salad and our meal (I had chicken picatta, my husband had bolognese with Angel hair pasta, all was just perfect. We’ll definitely be going back soon! Two thumbs up!!!
Wonderful experience all around, Delicious fresh menu, great wine and excellent service!
This was our first visit to Tresca and it was a wonderful experience. The service really set the stage. Our waiter was helpful and gave good guidance on food (what, how much to order) and wine. It’s not often a restaurant please us, our two teenagers (one of whom is a vegetarian) and my mother in law! We had a wonderful table inside but with a large windows open to the street. I recommend Tresca for regular dinners and for special occasions. One thing to note, it was a fairly expensive meal but felt worth it overall.
Fantastic meal and experience. And thank you for the special anniversary dessert!
Best veal parmigiana I’ve ever had.
Food and service were good but not great. Service was a little slow and my pasta dish was quite salty. I willtry it again. During the pandemic we ordered take out a few times and the food was excellent. We sat upstairs and the setting was good.
Dinner was delicious! We can't wait to come back!
Absolutely amazing evening. The owner Rich is very nice and always checking in to make sure everything is well. From apps to drinks to the main course and finally dessert, there wasnt a bad part to the meal
Great food and service. For someone who likes to take his time while dining, the server never rushes you.
Appetizer was really good. Got porkchop which was a bit tough. Flavoring was good
Thank you, wish we had known about the dissatisfaction with your entre. We are sorry and hope that you give us another try and ask for Chef Rich who will come to your table.
We had great service and exceptional food. The owner and chef, Rich Ansara, made a visit to our table where he greeting us warmly and made us feel like family. It’s important to note that he greeted many other diners as well. He came back again to check on how everything was. Truly, it was a delicious and wonderful dining experience.
Because of Covid, we chose to eat outside on a beautiful evening.
Thank you for such a wonderful review! We hope that you are able to come in again soon!
Tresca was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious, Chef Richard hand picked our meal from appetizers to dessert and it did not disappoint. Tresca is hands down the best on all of Hanover Street! Thank you to the staff for an amazing night!
Love, Steve & Shannon
Always great to read a review like this! Thanks for your kind comments and come back to see us very soon!
Tresca was amazing! The chef came out and helped us decide on what we should order. The dessert was absolutely devine!
Thank you, we're glad you enjoyed it!
Everything was great! Can’t wait to go back.
Richard was on site as usual taking care of every little detail. Food was incredible. Impressive experience for out of town guests. Highly recommend it.
Glad your guests enjoyed Tresca. Thank you!
The italian food is amazing and service even better. The Veal Chop Milanese style or Parmesan style is like heaven on earth. The Seafood Alfredo is one of the best dishes I've had in my entire life. Just devine and delicious. Chef Rich Ansara makes from scratch and hand rolls his own Gnocchi with a stunning truffle sauce that will make you beg for more. The Bolognese sauce is savory, elegant and scrumptious. Packed with meaty flavor with his hand made pasta. Just gorgeous and super delicious. Chef Rich Ansara is one of the best Chef's in New England and the country so take my word for it the man knows his food and treats every customer with a smile and tries to say hello, greets you with kindness and asks how the service and food is during your visit. Very special and friendly Chef!!!
Thanks for your thoughtful and extensive review! Glad you appreciate Chef Rich and his wonderful food. Come back soon!
Service was very slow. Took almost 40 minutes to be presented with a glass of wine after ordering. When asked two other servers who were walking around if they could check on our drinks and take our food order they appeared very flustered and said they could not. Food was good and the outdoor seating is nice to people watch.
We are sorry to hear that you experienced service below our standards. We have high expectations of our staff and normally deliver, great, efficient, and polite service, as evidenced by many of our customers in their review. We do apologize for not meeting your expectations and hope that you might give us another try, and ask for Chef Rich who will ensure your satisfaction with our food and service.
very great place, will be back
We can't wait! Thank you!
Fantastic! Fun place to eat especially outside. The risotto was really good with all the fresh veggies.
Amazing! Food was excellent and server was outstanding!
Great to hear, thank you!
The service was excellent, and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Wonderful experience!
Good not great - good service and food was decent. A lot of north end restaurants have really gone down hill recently- I'm surprised by some of the really high reviews these restaurants get - its American Italian food not real Italian food
Thank you. Nice to have an expert in!
Food and service was really great. Our server was very helpful in explaining the menu. The owner came out to greet us and ensure our food was satisfactory. My boyfriend had the filetta, it was over cooked slightly but was incredibly tender and still so flavorful. I had a veal chop, which was the largest thing I’ve ever seen served on a plate, and it came with pasta bolognese. The best bolognese I’ve ever had. Very satisfying dinner.
Thank you for your thoughtful review!
This was my first time at Tresca and it definitely won't be my last. This place was amazing! The food was superb as well as the service. Everything was top notch! I started off with the stuffed meatballs which were amazing, and for my entree, I chose the truffle gnocchi. Also amazing. Our server, Maria, was so kind and attentive. Definitely order dessert - they are all wonderful!
It was great as always. We love this restaurant. Drinks, appetizers, and meals were all excellent.
Wonderful wait staff, a small error with the order was immediately corrected but server still offered complimentary dessert. Large portions, delicious food.
Thank you, glad our server followed through!
Excellent food, great outdoor dining and people watching. Maria was a great waitress - knowledgeable, attentive, fun….perfect combination! They even brought a dessert to the table for my husband’s birthday (with a candle in it). We had the lobster stuffed mushrooms and the chicken Parmesan egg rolls….both delicious. The. We had the swordfish puttanesca, eggplant, chicken piccata, veal marsala and the scallops risotto. Everyone was happy with their dish.
The only thing that was nerve wracking was the outdoor table reservation is only first come first served.
Otherwise the perfect evening out and we will return for another dinner!
Owner/Chef Richard Ansara visited every table during our visit. His recommendations were on point and everything we had was incredible. The Meatballs (best I have ever tasted) and Stuffed Mushrooms are a must to start. From there, you honestly can not go wrong with anything. We were told we had to have North End Italian while visiting Boston. We are so glad we chose Tresca!
I celebrated my birthday last night at Tresca and the entire dinner was amazing. The owner / chef and the entire staff went out of their way to make sure the dinner was great. They were a very personal staff and gave me a complimentary birthday dessert. When we first arrived there was a loud group, we voiced the concern about our dinner being ruined and the owner/ chef immediately took care of this. I ordered the linguine vongole and my boyfriend got the Bolognese, we also got the burrata as a starter and donuts with gelato for dessert. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasted so good. They had a perfect ratio of pasta to other ingredients for the vongole (clams, tomatoes). I have tried many Italian restaurants in the North End and this is by far the best.
Simply scrumptious! We arrived early & were promptly seated. Excellent service. Plenty of choices on the menu.
Rich the chef-owner came to our table to see how we enjoyed our evening. Very classy move! We can’t wait to go back!
Delicious and generous portioned courses that came out quickly.
Staff worked as a team to making sure water was poured and we had everything we needed at all times
Chef/owner came over and asked us how everything was.
Great to hear and we passed on your comments to our staff! Thank you!
In Boston on vacation and needed the best Italian in the north end. Tresa more than delivered. We even met the owner/chef and got to tell him how much we loved the whole experience.
Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was well presented but the haddock was overly spiced with too much cheese (part of the coating). Three people had the fish and we all agreed with the encrusted cheese. Fish was fresh and very generous portion.
Thank you for coming into Tresca. We assume that you did notice that the dish was called Parmesan encrusted Haddock? Always best to let us know when your in so we can make changes to ensure your satisfaction.
Great food and service!
very nice restaurant food is fab and service is great, we did dine out Boston dinner and it was wondeful
This was my first time dining at Tresca, and my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. Everything was perfect, from the staff to the amazing food, and Chef Rich was charming and gracious. I highly recommend trying it, you will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to return very soon!
Staff was friendly, English was not their first language but they really went out of their way to be friendly and polite, the Bourque pasta dish was excellent, the Bolognese left a lot to be desired. The Calamari did 'bounce' a little bit off the tooth but the sauces were handmade and excellent.
We went for Boston Dine Out. The Dine Out menu was superb and the food was innovative and the presentation was outstanding. We sat on the patio which is very lovely, nicely decorated and comfortable. The staff were attentive without being obstrusive. I know they had a night of full reservations but we never felt rushed. The chef came out to ask how our food was. Overall, it was a wonderful dinner. We will be back once Dine Out Boston is over.
We appreciate the kind and thoughtful review! thank you !
Dined during restaurant week. Their menu was wonderful. I had the appetizer meatball which was delicious. The chicken parm was moist. My friend had a tasty steak. Both of us enjoyed the titramisu for dessert.
We had a table by the window. Lovelyl
