This was our first time at Tre Nonne. If I’ve had a poor dining experience, I typically give the place a second chance; but this will not be the case.
We were immediately sat down since there got there relatively early. The service was ok. The timing of the food was just off. Instead of bringing the food together, it was several minutes in between the entrees being brought out. My 6 year old son’s meal was last to be brought out (this was almost an hour after ordering). My daughter ordered the kid’s spaghetti. She took one bite and said the noodles were “gummy”. The same complaint from my husband’s fettuccini. I ordered the chicken piccata. The look of It was unappetizing. I look one bite of what looked like boiled chicken, and it was my last bite. It was disgusting. I typically finish meals I don’t particularly like, just because I’m hungry. I literally could not stomach this. The Caesar salad was mediocre. The Caesar dressing was purely mayonnaise. There was not bite of lemon or anchovies.
I did order the wine flight and it impressive. That was the only thing I liked about my experience at Tre Nonne.
Amazing food and serivce
Great food and service
Great food, friendly service. I'd happily eat here again.
Wonderful as always, the food is amazing and the staff are wonderful!
Amazing food and service
Fun evening with a friend. Thursday night is $5 martini night. The waiter recommended the lemon cello martini and it was heavenly. My friend and I also took his recommendations for the main course and again we were pleased. Both of us left with to go boxes. We even shut the place down and the waiter was very patient with us being the last to leave. It is wonderful not to be or feel rushed. We will go back again!
Fantastic place! Great service and food for a reasonable price!
Our meal was delicious. The mushroom and rosemary soup hit the spot.
Incredible authentic Italian.
The atmosphere was nice and quiet. Our waiter was friendly and sufficient except that I think he forgot that we were waiting for him to pick up the check and bring a carry out box. Eventually another waiter came by wondering why we were still sitting there. The food was fine and good enough and I think maybe my expectations were too big. The reviews were stellar and I therefore thought this would be an out of this world meal. It was just ok. Would I go back? Maybe. But it wouldn't be my first choice.
A wonderful place with great ambiance and staff. Tre Nonne will become one of our favorites!
Our meal was very disappointing and not like any Italian food I've ever experienced. Starting with the Caesar salad—the dressing was thin and resembled a runny ranch dressing more than classic Caesar dressing, and there was absolutely no parmesan on the salad at all. I ordered the veal piccata, which came to the table luke warm as if it had been sitting on the counter for quite some time. The sauce, again, was very thin and runny, and a pool of hardened oil crusted the top of the liquid sauce. The veal was a bit overcooked. My husband ordered shrimp fettuccini. the shrimp was cooked well, and the noodles were overcooked. The cheese sauce was thin and bland. The service was very slow and the server lackluster. We've given this restaurant three tries, and we won't be back.
excellent food and super nice owners and servers. The homemade pasta and cheesecake were delicious.
Not exactly a fancy restaurant, but really great food
The waiter was really good. Waiter was attentive and refilled water plenty. The calamari appetizer was overcooked and rubbery. The salads were good. Both of our entrees were just above uneatable. My wife ordered the veal parmigiana which was pastey and had a sour taste. My entree was Baked Ziti, that looked and tasted like dry noodles set in a pan to congeal into a solid block with soured sauce poured over it. The cheese was not even melted. We did very much enjoy the homemade bread, and asked for seconds as that was all we ate! First and last time will not return. Dining room was not busy should have been our first clue.
The restaurant was cold.
The food was overpriced with small portions.
They did not even have milk or pizza for kids.
The Food, Atmosphere, and service were wonderful! We will go back in the very near future.
Delicious food, friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere!
We stopped in on our way home from an out-of-town adventure with the kids. It was only our second visit, but we had the best meal. My husband and I each chose a different entree to share and the kids picked their favorite pasta and pizza. I think we all ended up eating a little of everything just to try it all. We left happy and full and are greatly looking forward to our next visit!
A authentic italian restaurant with al dente pasta. My husband loves this place he says food is just as good as Chef's restaurant in Buffalo NY. Awesome place! Highly recommended!!
One of the more disappointing meals we've had in this town, doubly so because a few co-workers had given it high marks. The lasagna looked and tasted like it had been sitting in a sheet pan for at least 72 hours, and the mozerella on top wasn't even hot when it came out. Super strange given how long we'd waited for food. The rigatoni was drowning in a vodka sauce that honestly had some promise, but the pasta was so limp it wouldn't stay on my fork. The house salad was swimming in olives and the Caesar came with a dressing that felt like watered-down sour cream with a dash of pepper. Even the kids' pasta and butter was strange, with about a 1/2 a stick's worth left over at the bottom of the bowl when the pasta was gone. The adults left more than half of our food on the plate, and the staff didn't seem at all concerned when we refused the offer of boxes for our leftovers.
Everything was perfect!! The staff was great for a large group! They accommodated us in every way! The service was great, the food was delicious and we couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere!!
We went for my daughter’s 11th birthday since she loves Italian food after we lived in Italy just last year. A friend had recommended Tre Nonne as being very authentic Italian (and having lived in Italy, this was quite appealing to us).
However, we were quite disappointed at our experience. When I made the reservation, I specified that we were celebrating my daughter’s birthday. Although the owner greeted her with a “Happy Birthday” upon our arrival, I was very surprised they did not offer a complimentary dessert at the end of the meal—ESPECIALLY since she chose not to have a salad which was included with the cost of her meal!
Despite all of this, I was also very disappointed that an “authentic” Italian restaurant would not have Aperol at their bar (please note: Aperol Spritz is listed as a “signature drink” on their menu-and I pointed this out to the waiter who had not only had no response but the owner simply replied that they don’t carry it much—-then why is it listed as a signature drink???!). My husband and I were both very much looking forward to drinking Aperol Spritz for dinner 😢 (funny thing is that after I ordered it, the waiter said he would need to check to see if they had it. When he returned, the waiter told us the Aperol was “flat” and we wouldn’t want it—note:Aperol has no carbonation so it could NOT be flat!! 🤔).
The lasagna and gnocchi were both delicious...however, the fries in the kids’ meals were not esthetically pleasing at all (they appeared burnt and neither of my boys would touch them). My boys did say the chicken tenders were delicious. However, I thought $8 for a kids’ meal which did NOT include a soft drink seemed pricy (approx another $2.75 was charged for a soft drink...so it was close to a $11 meal for 3 small chicken tenders, fries and a drink).
Bottom line, we will go to Di Lisio’s next time—-I am sure they will have Aperol Spritz and include a drink with a kids’ meal!
My friend and I had a lovely time at Tre Nonne. We went for dinner on a Friday night and made a reservation as recommended. The waiter was very attentive, food delicious and prices were very reasonable. They have an extensive wine list too and Tuesday nights they have select glasses of wine for $4. The ambience is cozy and peaceful. A real neighborhood gem. I will definitely be returning.
Chicken Parmigiana was very good large portions
Cheese was under done so had to move it to the side
Overall decent place to go and not break the bank
Wine by the glass excellent
Delicious food, excellent service, and to die for tiramisu!
My sister's birthday. First time for us but Italian is her favorite and we were not disappointed. Will definitely be back.
Food was good , service was good. Nothing was outstanding. Calamari appetizer was the highlight of the meal. It was.definitely a good value . We would try again if in the area.
Great drinks, exceptional food, awesome service. If you want REAL Italian in Winston Salem, this is the place to go
Have eaten here several times. Perhaps this was an off night but the food was not great.
Great food and service. Our waiter was awesome. Thank you!
Quaint with a relaxed atmosphere. Food was very good. Veal was tender. Great service by the waiter, willing to chat. The price for a dinner of two, including drinks, was moderate. We expected a higher bill. We definitely will return to Tre Nonne
My now fiance and I had our first date at Tre Nonne 14 months ago. Sunday night we went there to eat & my boyfriend proposed. Tre Nonne will always be our Italian restaurant. And the bread is SO GOOD!!
Want true NY Italian food this is the place. Always enjoy the food.
Nice quiet dinner for two in a relaxing atmosphere. Plating was nice and food was flavorful.
When this placed 1st open is was pretty good not great. Tried it a few more times and gave up. Food consistency mediocre at best. Decided to try it again as the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed for the week for holidays.
BIG MISTAKE: Place was nearly empty on a Saturday night (should have been a clue, right?) Salads tasted like they were using dressing from Walmart, and the croutons clearly came out of a bag.
No bread for the table (probably explains why the croutons were so bad).
One dish was Pasta Carbonara, perhaps home made pasta as claimed, hard to say - was pretty much a huge glob of sticky pasta with a tasteless sauce.
2nd dish was Ravioli - no idea if this was freshly made - seemed very similar to what you can by frozen. Sauce tasted like it came out of a jar, and clearly had bagged, shredded cheese on top.
White wines where luke warm at best.
Service was a little sketch, especially given the lack of seated tables.
So, this place is clearly off my list - and should not be on yours! Much better choices around.
The food was wonderful and the owner was delightful!
Our waiter seemed to be unsure of menu. They had run out of several entrees the night before and should have been told to us prior to ordering. Had to ask for bread 3 times. The spaghetti and meat balls was bland tasting.
