First time diners. On time reservation. Excellent service from all staff.
Mushroom ravioli' dish was so delicious. Mama's lasagna was really good.
Bread had a nice crust. portions were satisfying with no leftovers.
Seemed a bit pricey but worth it. Just could be the times we live in.
Food was delicious but lacked ambiance.
Food was ok. Service was ok.
We were sat in a makeshift room in 30 degree weather. It was practically outside and people were coming and going through a door that would blow wind. When we asked to move we were seated at an even colder table. For $30 an entree this was a joke.
Fourth time I’ve had bad service in my life. Glasses were dirty at the table, waitress couldn’t be bothered to actually mind the table, food was aggressively mediocre. Disappointing since I had heard many great things about this place. Service was so bad we ended up skipping dessert, but it didn’t matter since the waitress never even asked if we wanted any. The busboy was more attentive than her. She was more interested in hanging around the bar talking.
Best Veal Milanese in town !
Wonderful meal and the best so far in North end. As an Italian it has been hard to find the flavors of my childhood and this meal took me home. Meatballs amazing and our waitress was awesome! We also splurged on a bottle of Caymus which paired so well with our meal.
The food was absolutely amazing and our waiter was so friendly! I do think it was a little chilly and dark where we were sitting, but overall, everything was great!
Food was straight out of a freezer and a box. Calamari was so chewy. Bread was cold. And pasta was bottom shelf out of a box.
The food was absolutely delicious and our server was great! We got the lobster ravioli, pesto pasta, calamari, and a couple glasses of Pinot noir. Overall excellent meal!
We were seated outside next to the dishes rack. The food was excellent but specifically our experience wasn't the best. I think with different seating accommodations the experience would of been much nicer.
Awesome food, excellent wine. I’ve loved this place for 15 years
There is a very bad smell on the basement.
Food was good, service was very good. Noice level was crazy, really put a damper on the overall dining experience.
We were seated at 8:50, our reservation was at 8:00pm.
Went here with my girlfriend on a last minute date, was so amazing. Great staff. Great food. Go here!
Food was OK. Caccio e Peppe was extremely watery and flavorless almost like it didn’t have any cheese just water and pepper. The service was terrible, waiter had a mask under his nose and sometimes he wasn’t even wearing it at all. We had a table in front of what seemed the resting area for waiters. It was loud and felt careless. Wouldn’t come back and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
I hate to admit that I was slightly disappointed with my experience here. I was really looking forward to it based on the positive reviews but left feeling unsatisfied. Overall, I felt extremely rushed through the meal by the staff- it definitely is not the kind of place you can sit and thoroughly enjoy a meal.
The waitress was pleasant enough but we felt pressured to enter our order immediately, eat quickly and leave. Our reservation was for 7 pm and we literally had our entrees by 7:07 and were out the door by 7:40 (including appetizer, dinner and dessert!). They don’t have coffee for after dinner and only had 1 dessert option (Tiramisu, although we enjoyed it I thought it was so strange they didn’t offer alternatives). The staff was rushing around and the whole atmosphere was kind of chaotic. I was hoping for better ambiance and not as rushed.
We both ordered pasta dishes and I was underwhelmed. I’m not sure that it was homemade penne pasta as I was expecting and the flavor was average, nothing special. On the plus side, the shrimp appetizer was quite good!
Next time I would prefer to try another restaurant.
In the past I have enjoyed this restaurant. Last night it was rushed and the food was not up to the standard I have know previously here. I asked for additional mozzarella parmesaned On my chicken park and was told that the chef does not like to change the dish. The chicken was not freshly prepared and there was barely any cheese on the chicken itself. the pasta was delicious but barely a serving to be had. We had to ask for bread repeatedly and the bar tender was wearing one earbud an seemingly having a conversation with someone while serving our party. Beyond rude in my book. Sadly,
I won’t rush back anytime soon.
This is my favorite Italian spot in the North End. The ambiance is great, it was quiet and intimate, and of course the food was absolutely delicious
This was an absolutely horrendous meal from start to finish. First we sat down to a table that was barely set up, there was a roll of paper towels sitting on the next table which shows they didn't even care about cleaning up before the dinner rush. The restaurant was freezing and noisy, it took a long time for a waiter to come over and take our order. We ordered eggplant parmigiana as an appetizer which came out cold and tasted odd. The bread was hard and we had to take the olive oil off the neighboring table because we had none. Next we both had the Chicken Parmigiana for our main courses, big mistake!!! the chicken was tough and hard to cut the pasta tasted like it came out of a can. This was a poor excuse for an Italian meal.
We thought the menu was very limited and not a lot of choices, I would never go back here nor recommend it.
The wait staff and greeters were very kind; service was very good and the ambiance was nice with open air window seating. The chicken parm w/red sauce and pasta was tasteless and bland. While the tortellini with white sauce was passable. Overall, disappointed,
Amazing as always. My server was sweet and lovely. The food was superb! I had the lasagna this time and it exceeded my expectations. I saved a little for leftovers. Can’t wait to come back.
Delicious food and BIG portion size!
My grown kids go to This restaurant all the time. They rave about the truffle ravioli, so I had no choice but to order it. It did not disappoint. Delicious. Fun night with friends, regardless of the rain.
Food was very very good, everything else was terrible. We were seated in the bar area next to the kitchen and the music was very distracting, we asked about moving but were told it would be a 30 min wait in spite of having a reservation. We ordered an appetizer and five minutes into eating the busboys tried to clear our table and give us all of our entrees, when we said we weren’t done eating they just stood there confused until we relented and let them clear the table for the next course. Honestly it felt like we were under a shot clock the whole meal, the food was great but the meal was incredibly stressful with the servers constantly trying to push us out the door. I get that they want to turn tables to get more people in the door, but it made for a terrible dining experience. The manager came by and asked how our meal was and when we explained this to him he said sorry but then never came back / followed up — instead he told our waitress who then treated us with a lot of hostility for the remainder of the meal. Will go to one of the hundreds of other restaurants in the North End next time we’re in the area.
Food was good and reasonably priced. If given the choice, I would probably go to another restaurant in the North End. My friend and I got the cacio e pepe and gnocchi. The gnocchi was just alright. The cacio e pepe was much, much better.
The service was ok, but the food came out super quickly. You could be in and out in less than an hour if you want.
Have eaten in quite a few spots in Boston's North End and will rate this place one of the best. Food was great and served in a timely fashion. The adult beverages were tasty and the wait staff was attentive. We were there on a Saturday night in November so the neighborhood was quite busy and although the restaurant was packed, everything came on time no delays.
I recommend Trattoria Il Panino highly.
Great food. Great service. Worth all the money!
Service was very good and staff friendly. We all had pasta dishes that was delivered in the pans they were cooked in, so we expected hot dishes however were very mild to the touch and not very hot. The past dishes could have used a bit more seasoning.
Service was excellent and food was great, but very overpriced for the quality and extremely loud inside
This is my go to restaurant in the North End. Always a great meal!
We had a great time celebrating our anniversary. The restaurant was vibrant with energy. The food and service was great. Smaller portion sizes for food and wine.
The drinks were delicious; the pistachio martini was really good. The pasta was not that great. I had the gnocchi and it tasted store bought. The floor was slippery in the basement where we sat and I slipped. Nothing broken except my pride, but I expected the manager to come by and say something. Just go for drinks and appetizers.
Great selection on the menu and food was great! Service was very friendly!
Love the food here but the bread is so bad....maybe with some dipping sauces, it would be more palatable. Waiter gave us our check without asking if we wanted anything else. Kind of odd?
Not friendly greeting, outside was sloppy table settings mixed.....waiter came over after 5 minutes ask if we wanted water.....I looked at water glasses on our table they were so dirty & spotted. Looked around the room ALL glassware was filthy. I walked out, I am from out of town too. This restaurant was recommended never got chance to eat. Very very very disappointed. Hostess or whom or whatever she was, didnt even say why?, what happened? Is there anything I can do? CLUELESS
Great! The wine, squash blossoms and lasagna was wonderful.
