Trattoria Il Panino
and back of the house form a desirable marriage. The entrance on 260 Hanover street has a full liquor license.
Everything was great. Enjoyed dining there very much. A bit noisy because the resturant was filled but most improtantly the food was teffiric.
We have tried many italian restaurants in the north end and this is by far our favorite. Great food!
It was tasty but it’s the north end of Boston
I expected more
We judge every Italian meal by the standard of mare de monte in Worcester ma ...
If you want the beat Italian food go there !
Great food. We didn’t realize that the main dining room area was only open for dinner, at least on Saturdays. Nonetheless it was a very enjoyable experience. Mushroom ravioli was out of this world.
Great food and service
We felt a bit rushed but once we expressed we were staying and drinking a bottle of wine we were fine. Delicious food!!
Wonderful authentic Italian food! I haven’t seen stuffed zuchini flowers since being in Italy many years ago. Wonderful server, Piero, had great suggestions and made it a fabulous experience for me and my teenage son. Highly recommend!
Good food! Good service and reasonably priced!
Veal chop Parmesan! Always the best. Mario takes care of us as usual .
My husband and I went on Sunday night and sat near the kitchen. When we first walked in it seemed very loud, but within mi it’s the experience was so warm and quaint that I immediately stopped hearing the kitchen noise.
We loved every moment of our dinner. Our server was great the food was fantastic and we love the fact that our meals were served in a pan.
The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Homemade pasta, what more could you ask for? :)
our waiter was phenomenal- even went out to buy birthday candles for the cake we had bought! Food was amazing!! and well priced. Seating took longer than the reservation time but they had an indoor waiting area for us
So good!!! The ragu was comfort food like I've never had. Amazing place!
We had a reservation for 6 pm. Unfortunately, we were not seated until 6:25 and the service was a bit slow due to the large number of people being seated at the same time. We were seated in the middle of two tables that were about 6 inches apart, so privacy was hard to come by. The waiter did his best and the food was delicious as always.
Best Italian food I have had since I was in Florence, Italy. Amazing staff, service, outstanding food.
Move em in, move em out. Ok, I get it...it was a Saturday night on Hanover St., so that was to be expected. We were there to meet friends and to have gluten-free pasta available for our daughter with celiac disease. Despite the noise and cramped quarters, service was efficient if not personable and the pasta was really good. We were seated in the lowest level of the oldest part of the restaurant, so my expectations for ambiance were low to begin with. That said, I'd hesitate to come here again as there are so many other options in the North End with excellent food and a more welcoming surrounding.
If you are in the North End you have to try this great Italian Restaurant!!
Thought we were in for a great north end dinner. Mediocre at best. Hard bread. Food comes out too fast, clearly pre prepared
Sat in the basement next to a door to outside propped open with a mop. To use the bathroom you have to go upstairs, walk through a dining/serving areA and then outside!!
Probably a good place for those who have never tasted the real thing
They sat us on the patio on a 14 degree night in February which was not ideal. Food was great but we had to rush through that and our bottle of wine to get out of the cold.
My boyfriend and I came to Trattoria Il Panino for Valentine's Day after many recommendations from friends.
The food was delicious, I had the lasagna and my boyfriend has the ravioli. You feel like you are in an Italian home, it is busy and energetic and we loved it. The lasagna was 10-11 thin layers with an amazing sauce, which made it really balanced to eat.
The only issue was that they packed a lot of tables very close together, there was hardly room to move and you could clearly hear the conversations next to you. Wish there had been a little more space. We were seated in the heated outdoor area, but since the doors were opening and closing a lot to the outside it was still quite cold. I was in a dress but had to keep my coat on.
We made reservations many weeks in advance of our meal date, February 14. We were seated in an enclosed heated patio—- it was 20 degrees outside and still cold in there. Servers were wearing coats hats and scarves—NOT EXAGGERATING. When asked for a table inside we were told we could wait for one. MAYBE 15-20 minutes, maybe half hour. ALSO, NO COCKTAILS IN THAT ROOM, just beer and wine. We decided to take the table because we were 4 and hungry. Food was ok but won’t go back because of treatment. We were not told reservation was on patio. That is B.S.
Very good food. Excellent service. I particularly like the homemade pasta and zucchini flower appetizer (which is not easy to find in many places).
Food and service from Marco was great!! Would recommend to a friend.
Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Food was absolutely amazing as always. And I absolutely love eating here every chance I get. No such thing as sub par food here.
What an Incredible Experience. As a first time visitor to Boston & the North End this experience could not have been any better for dinner. Vibrant and Electric atmosphere couple with some of the best Italian food I've ever eaten. Staff made me feel like I was at home with their family about to have dinner in household. Pasta served in pans and the Veal was out of this world. I would say a trip to Boston would not be complete without dinner at this Trattoria II Panino
Great place to get some great food while in the North End
Seated in the worst spot in the restaurant despite having a reservation. Food is quantity over quality. Would not recommend, as there are plenty of restaurants in the nearby area which are better in my opinion.
Amazing food. The truffle sauce mushroom ravioli are to die for.
The food is authentic Italian. Our waiter was knowledgeable and accommodating. The wine list was superb.
I regularly recommend Trattoria II Panino. My family and I have been going there for close to 20 years. We get there the few times a year that we are in Boston
The lobster ravioli is what dreams are made of. Highly recommend. I've been there twice and had it both times so I can't speak to the other menu items haha!
Excellent food and service. Seated on time.
Great food and service
Lobster Ravioli was outstanding!
Always a favorite every time I am time. two dining experiences if you want them.
The food was even better than it appeared on Instagram 😂 just would have preferred to not be sat in the basement with so much seating upstairs. Had a great server and experience 😊
Consistently good food
We have been coming here for years. It is like coming home whenever we eat here. The staff is wonderful and keeps checking to make sure everything is okay.
We don't go anywhere else in the north end.
Food was incredible. Service was a little rough around the edges (some sass!) and my order was not put in with the rest of the other orders, which caused a delay. I didn’t make a big deal and the waitress softened up.
