Trattoria I’ll Panino never disappoints. Delicious food and great service. Lots of Italians which I think is important in an authentic italian restaurant!!
Amazing as always!
Trattoria Il Panino is in the heart of the North End just off Hanover Street on Parmenter. There's a patio in back that is lively but small enough so not noisy. Wait staff include actual Italiens who make it fun and service is great. Lots of choices. Beer and wine only but wine was delicious.
Great spot before a game or a night in Boston.
We gad a great dinner, gnocchi and veal saltimboca were perfect. For many years we have come here and it is still our go to place in the North End.
Reservations were made several months in advanced. We were seated in the bar. Host was seemed irritated we were there 8 minutes early. Lasagna was dry and tasteless. Menu was limited.
Had a wonderful Mother’s Day lunch here with family. The entire staff was very welcoming and pleasant. They didn’t rush us out at all and we were able to enjoy the delicious food at our leisure. The food was incredible as always. We had to increase our reservation teice and each time I called, Maria was extremely accommodating. Thank you so much!! Can’t wait to go back!!
Great service and great food! One of my favorite spots.
The food was amazing and our server, Mike was the best server we have ever had anywhere! Highly recommend the Gnocchi and Pasta carbonerra.. A++++
Great for family gathering
The food was great. Service was bit slow. We had to wait really long for them to serve us bread. Mostly it was hard to catch the servers eye, maybe because the restaurant was very busy. The food was amazing and Ambience was great too.
Portions are huge. Order appropriately.
Great food and great service. Loved all parts of our meal - bread to desserts. Mushroom ravioli was incredible. Our server was excellent and we were well taken care of. The ambiance doesn’t feel as charming as some of the other Italian restaurants in the North End and the groups near us were very rowdy - hard to talk with our group of 6.
This place was such a delight. The food was absolutely amazing and the red sangria is like none I have tasted. I will be returning to this restaurant very soon.
Just what you want your Friday night North End dining experience to be. Brought friends from EU who had never been to Boston. Beautiful spring night. Sat our table of 4 right by the open doors so we could watch the bustle. Speedy efficient service when you needed it but no hovering and no hurrying. Helpful- we had 1 in our party with allergies (onions?!) and the waiter Took charge and accommodated her as if no problem. Great meal. Good vibes. Definitely recommend.
Our meal for 4 people. Split entrees and plenty of food:
Primi: penne arrabiata, trompetta pesto
Secondi: osso bucco w/ saffron risotto, chicken parm, and side of meatballs w/ricotta
2 bottles of la Spinetta Sangiovese (beautiful bottle of vino that adjust to the whole menu)
Always great! Never disappoints!
Had the meatball appetizer which was amazing with its tasty ricotta accompaniment. For entrees we had the recommended lobster ravioli and arabbiata penne which were both fantastic. I highly, highly recommend this place as they have plentiful vegetarian and seafood options for both pastas and other main entrees for those who have dietary restrictions pork / meat in general.
Pasta served right in the skillet- so delicious and so fresh. Good wines -fine crowd. Will go again
Our server Mike was fantastic and the food...words can’t capture the quality and experience we had. Thank you so much for an amazing evening!
Tienen pasta sin gluten muy rica!
There is really good gluten free pasta!
It was too quick, we hadn't finish our appetizers that we already had the dished on the table. We told them that it was too quick but they didn't care... It was a special occasion for me so I am disappointed.
I had an amazing time at Trattoria Il Panino this weekend for my post-graduation lunch. The pasta dishes we ordered were all delicious, and were served on top of sauce pans which I thought was really fun. The service was very attentive and knowledgable. I look forward to going back.
Our first visit was extremely satisfying and gratifying.
Our waiter , Mike made sure everything was just perfect for me and my wife.
Perfection. Food is incredible, service impeccable. Love the patio,( original section), looking for an excuse to return..
Great place to go for date night! Excellent drinks and even better food! Romantic ambiance all the way
This was one of my favorite places in the North End but after receiving the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant , I won’t be coming back. Could not believe the attitude of the waitress on a super quiet Monday night with no one there.
The food was the best!!!! Highly recommend this restaurant!!
The pasta (Trombetta) was cooked to perfection! The pesto and sangria were devine and the waitstaff very attentive. So happy we have a new go-to restaurant in the North End.
EXCELLENT FOOD, RELAXING ATMOSPHERE, GOOD SERVICE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE VISITING THE NORTH END
Service wasn’t too great
We went to say bye to our friend since she joined the army. I have been here many times and they sat us in the basement. The only bad part about the meal was that there were actual puddles under our tables and they did not move us.
We have been going here for years and years before games at the Garden, because you get a reliably great meal and they always accommodate you if you’re in a time crunch. Although they have the more upscale portion off of Hanover, we love to eat in the original section off of Parameter. Only a few tables and you can see them make your meal in the small kitchen. Very authentic food, with friendly staff.
One thing to note is that on Friday and Saturday nights they do not allow alterations to the meals due to being so busy (for example my grandmother asked to switch spaghetti instead of penne with her chicken parm). However this was not an issue for us as everything was delicious and the meals were perfect as they were.
Starting off, the bread and olive oil they served the table was delicious! I had the risotto of the day, which was risotto with mushroom and truffle - it was delicious and I would highly recommend if that’s the risotto of the day! My mother and my grandmother both got the chicken parm - my mother said it was really good, and my grandmother said although it was really good she was slightly disappointed because she had had such high expectations, so take that as you will. Overall I thought it was delicious and I will be going back.
This restaurant has a great cozy vibe. I went for my Anniversary dinner and the food was awesome. Everything Italian food should be - warm, comforting and delicious.
I have never had a bad dish there. It is always crowded but the service is excellent and food is amazing. Price is consistent with the North End. It can get loud there at times. Love sitting on the Parmenter St side.
I ate one of the best pastas I've ever eaten, perfectly al dente with a delicious homemade ragu with a base of a wonderful tomato sauce which I normally don't like unless made by me or carefully picked restaurants and don't get me wrong, it did have tomato sauce but just a touch, not inundated with acid tomato sauce which is sadly what you usually get in restaurants called themselves Italian. I wish I could have it now!
Loved the mushroom ravioli & lasagna. Our waiter was fun and prompt. We will be back!
The food has greatly deteriorated since a year ago. We used to come here fairly often and the pasta delicious. Tonight, however, the pasta was overcooked and tasteless, and the sauce was watery and lacking in flavor. A huge disappointment.
We go everytime we visit Boston‼️
