Food was not worth the price. The staff were nice though.
It was fine. Oddly empty given there was an event nearby and all other restaurants in the area were booked solid for times before the event. The food was fine. During dinner our service was actually outstanding, My main complaint is after dinner. We went to get our car from the hotel valet (Trace is in the W), and no one told us we needed to have our claim ticket validated to get a discounted rate. It was a hike back to the restaurant from the valet in 100 degree heat. It just would have been far more professional for Trace’s host or even our server to ask if we had valeted our car. Even the valet who took our car could have told us when we said we were eating at Trace. Just a lack of service you’d expect from the W. Truth be told, it’s kind of a hipster hotel, so maybe they are just used to most of their customers using Uber, lol.
Good vibe for Sunday Brunch. I had great service don’t pay for parking in Sunday’s because they are all free. You can get a token at the lounge which is close to the hotel
Such an odd place. Quiet and peaceful to start Sunday brunch only to turn to deafening questionable music at decibels a rock concert couldn’t achieve. The food at this place, like most anything else associated with a W Hotel, strives mostly to be trendy while merely succeeding in being overpriced. The green chili jalapeño hash was loaded with very hot jalapeños, but little hash all of which could have fit on one of the dainty halves of cold overly moist toast. The mimosas didn’t involve fresh orange juice of any kind and were served in tiny glasses Barbie would have appreciated in her doll house. I can’t say the meal was bad, because the sample sizes we were served seemed at least okay overall. But there is so much better in Austin that is both memorable and a better value without destroying your hearing or the mood with what they claimed was music.
Good. Very good.
Service was extremely slow. It took almost 20 minutes for someone to come by. We waited it out because at least our waters were filled and we weren't in a hurry. Tables that were sat after us got their food and drinks before us. I thought the price of the drinks were fair and the food was good but nothing to write home about.
We enjoyed the foos. The service was slow and disorganized. Kudos to the waiter for getting our complicated order right without taking notes. We were disappointed that the manger would not let us expand our reservation to 6 when the restaurant had plenty of room the entire time we were there. The host tried to help but the manger would not budge.
Really yummy restaurant with outdoor seating (dog-friendly). Went for brunch and it was 5 stars.
Highly recommended, if you want a chill place to have some great food, awesome service and wonderful music, check out the patio.
Our server was engaging and helpful and the food was great!
The dinner was enjoyable except our entrees took too long to arrive. We were told that their kitchen was "slammed" and they apologized. We will try again at some point. Food was really good, just not worth the long wait.
Went for restaurant week prix fixe menu. Very well produced and presented. Highly recommend.
I had in my open table account the status
"I like outside seating when the weathers fine". It was over 100 and our table was outside. They tried to find something else but couldn't do I took it because I had event tickets. It was too hot and went I to abandon the table and leave and they found a table I. Aniya mi Ute.
I have erased that comment from my status but this is the first time ever this has happened.
As always, TRACE delivered in every way! Amazing food, delicious cocktails & wonderful service (thank you Mary!!)
Food was very disappointing, drink specials were strange and poor tasting, however the atmosphere was beautiful even with heat. Super fun atmosphere that the hotel set up for a drag brunch for Pride. I just wish the service and food were up to the usual W standard.
I got the Cauliflower soup, Shishito Peppers and the crab cakes... everything was excellent! My server was very attentive!
Disappointing. Ordered the quinoa breakfast bowl, and for $20 was served dry quinoa with avocado, a few sliced grape tomatoes, a few pieces of arugula, and a poached egg. There was a small drizzle of balsamic on the egg, but other than that, it was without seasonings. We were more than halfway through our meal before the waiter stopped in to check on us. Too many choices in Austin to recommend this spot.
Our waitress Mary was outstanding. The Manager stopped by to check up. The Redfish was fabulous but the tenderloin was much tougher than one would expect. It was a celebration for a 60th Wedding Anniversary and a birthday and Trace handled that very well.
Trace is one of my Austin favorite places for a delicious and festive brunch! I love the outside patio - even in the blazing hot Austin summer - it's just so cool. The DJ's are always great and play energetic yet appropriate music for all to enjoy. I'll be back next week!
Our waitress is the best ever. We’ve had her before and she always goes above and beyond her duties and our expectations!!
I think her name is Elli, I know she’s from Honduras! She’s the best!!!!❤️👌🏼
We loved the outdoor patio and our server was amazing!
Prometheus is the best ever !!!!!
Trace is a lovely place to eat. We sat outside in a very attractive garden-like setting. The service was delightful and very attentive. The only thing I did not like was that my perfectly cooked steak (medium rare) and perfect potatoes were so SALTY ! I had to take it all home and wipe all the salt off before eating it. It’s such a shame to see high quality food ruined by over-seasoning. I’ve noticed this in other good restaurants in Austin as well....
Tomahawk pork chop was too salty - informed waitress and she said cook said they just placed in marinade - did not take it off the bill for horrible meal. Overated dining experience.
I might recommend Trace if the quest is for ambiance and good service. Both were well above mark. However, the food was "good" at best. For the price paid, I would expect excellent.
Great food. Especially enjoy small plate items on the menu. Great food and great wine selection. This trip we visited for brunch. Great experience.
This is not under $30 per person. It’s about $50 per person.
Food was meh. Not that good and over priced.
Absolutely love the W & Trace! Have been a guests for years, it's my go-to for awesome events & atmosphere.
The live music was great. Made it very romantic and the food was awesome. Start with small plates and share the entree. You will be full! Very tasty
We split the romaine lettuce salad and beef medallion entree. Both were excellent. A shout out to our server - can’t remember her name. Also, the vodka cocktail I had was great. Our server said it was the most popular one.
Great place for dinner. Menu is not very large but food is outstanding. Ambiance is also great. Highly recommended. Parking conveniently available in garage just across the street.
It was a nice day experience and food was great and fresh. Drinks were good too.
Server seemed busy and very inattentive... we waited too long between courses, for drinks, for dessert, to ask for check, etc... Restaurant wasn’t full so couldn’t understand why we felt neglected at times.
We had a phenomenal brunch at Trace. Incredible service, lively fun vibe and absolutely amazing food. My boyfriend and I thought every ingredient was thoughtful and every bite was delicious. We shared the quail and grits, crab avocado toast and duck huevos rancheros. We are both foodies and thought this was some of the best food we've had in Austin. Highly recommended.
Food was mediocre and service was poor. I would never recommend this place or eat here again.
came here for lunch and the lunch menu was terrific and reasonably priced.
We enjoyed ourselves and they certainly treat the person having the Birthday very well. That being said though, the menu has changed, and while the quality and grits was still awesome, we weren’t as into the rest of the meal. Definitely sad to see the Duck Chilaquiles were no longer on the menu, and the Duck Confit Huevos rancheros just aren’t the same. Not a huge fan of the presentation of the lox sandwich. We were expecting actual pieces of lox and not the sort of “spread” that it actually was.
Graduation weekend meal
Went here right before going to ACL. Perfect location for that. Service was very good. Food excellent. Choices
Were limited but every was tasty.
