A Trabocco is a unique fishing pier found along the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. Architect and Designer Lev Weisbach of Weisbach Architecture|Design was inspired by the beautiful Trabocchi of Abruzzo when he created his spectacular design. With its reclaimed wood ceilings, dramatic copper encased fireplace, and modern bar Trabocco is warm and welcoming yet strikingly dramatic and modern.
Not sure what they could do to make the experience better. Marshall was attentive but not overly so. My only complaint is that I don’t live closer. Will be back soon.
Wonderful food service
Tremendous food and service as usual. The chef came out to say hello. Always smiling and gracious. The calamari was to die for so was the prime rib. As it was a birthday dinner the chef brought out a complementary tiramisu. We’ll be back.
We have been to Trebacco a few times. We were close by with some friends who had never been but wanted to so we booked it via Open Table. Upon arrival, the man at the front desk said he would seat us on the patio which was completely empty. The main restaurant was not full at all - lots of open tables - but he hesitated and told us that because we reserved via open table that was all he could offer us. He said we should have called instead. I asked him why we were being penalized for using Open Table. He then reluctantly took us to a table in the main dining area. Very disappointing and disrespectful service from him. Everything else was good - the food, our waiter.
Great Food and Great Service, Everything as expected. Will be back
The food was delicious and our waiter was very informative.
I highly recommend Trabocco. We have been going here for years and you will not be disappointed with the service and excellent cuisine.
Excellent food and service! High recommended!
Amazing food and service every time!
My friend and I always enjoy coming here!
Tried Trobocco on recommendation of my Sister-in-law and loved it. Great cocktails, food and service. Everything was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend.
Had a great time celebrating my wife’s birthday with friends and family. The food was excellent snd we will definitely be coming back
Early Valentine's Day Dinner. My wife and I were very pleased with the food. Pasta was just right, and reminded us of the pasta we enjoyed in Italy in the past. Lovely restaurant, always comfortable, and the service very good. We look forward to a return soon.
The good was amazing and the service was outstanding! The staff is very nice and accommodating. We had a great time!
after perusing yelp for best restaurants in the east bay, and reading many reviews, i decided on trabocco... turns out that that was the one place she wanted to go...we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, staff, and ambience/decor... having an exposed kitchen in the dining area will always create for a loud noise level, and an all girls birthday dinner party with drinks can add to the decibel level , and it did....all in all, we definitely will return....the free tiramasu dessert for the birthday girl was a nice touch....only wish the owner/chef came out to our table as he did the two tables surrounding us, but totally understand..as i'm sure he's pulled back and forth with many tasks...
This is a lively restaurant with excellent and fun food. Our server was real good, and attended well to our needs.
My bean salad was great, but my friend's chicken entree was overcooked. She didn't eat it all. I think it's the first time she's been disappointed there. She did not send it back though. It was her birthday and they brought her an AMAZING dessert.
Friday is Porchetta night, the only night Trabacco serves this Italian style roasted pork and Giuseppe’s version was fantastic! Crispy on the outside, juicy and so flavorful, I can’t wait to go back and enjoy it again!
If you like to watch all the action, sit at the kitchen counter :-). We split the beet salad and a margarita pizza with pepperoni that we requested extra crispy. It was perfect. We love Giuseppe and the crew and consider Trabocco one of our regular, favorite haunts! Great food in a very welcoming environment.
We have been frequent guests at Trabocco; and the food is very good and fresh tasting. The service was terrific, attentive without hovering. Definitely a great place for a return visit.
GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE, very good prices. Owned by a real Italian from Abruzza who knows how to cook. Loved it, and so did my lunch guest.
Great food and service. We love this place for any special occasion. Highly recommend.
Another great experience. Food was delicious and the service is always excellent. Great atmosphere to enjoy great food with great people.
Delicious food, truly great cocktails, and a great wine list. Tiramisu at the end should not be missed! Service was very good and we appreciate the prompt water/bread. On this visit we didn't receive a side dish we had ordered, but it was still on the bill but that was corrected after flagging down our waiter. We love Trabocco and feel so lucky to have this amazing restaurant here.
Great service!! Fantastic food! Molto buono!!!
Trabocco is one of our local favorites. The food is reliably good and the employees are always friendly and welcoming
Always wonderful - amazing quality/quantity of food and chef Giuseppe is the absolute best, always making us feel special, we love it there!
High quality food, not super fancy but always cooked well. Staff are always very helpful and accommodating of our picky family!
Outstanding Italian food and highly professional service
So loud we could barely hear each other - & we've been there a half dozen times, but the middle seats are too loud. Chicken was bland and overcooked, salmon tasty, but waiter could have made more if refilled drinks more timely.
We were rather disappointed in our recent meal there. Service was good at first, but then they seemed to forget about us. Food was..........ok, Pasta seemed over cooked and mushy. Chicken was dry. This was the restaurant week, so they were quite busy, maybe too busy to do a good job. We have been pleased in the past.
Our group was one of several at the restaurant celebrating birthdays. They really go out of their way to make it a special occasion.
Amazing quality food for reasonable price and also the customer service was beyond excellent!
Absolutely love this place. Went there for a business dinner. I’ll definitely be back.
the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, service and food
Wonderful food and lovely people. This is my second time at this restaurant and it is fast becoming a favorite. This time I was there for friends birthday. We shared a appetizer, pasta and NY steak and that was more then plenty.. All were wonderful and the steak was cooked rare perfectly (hard to find these days). The staff couldn't be more helpful and the chef was very sweet. I love Italian food and besides Italy and NYC it is becoming harder to find. So glad for this gem in Alameda. Oh it is in a strip mall but don't be put off ,the restaurant is lovely. It was funny as I had my friend convinced I was taking him to Applebees for his birthday :)
Great flavors and ambiance. They made us feel at home with a relaxing afternoon of Italian pasta and seafood.
Always a good meal at Trabocco. Giuseppe the owner always comes by and greets us when he can, and the food is always fresh and delicious. Never a bad meal at Trabocco!!
My husband and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary yesterday at Trabocco. The ambiance is beautiful but the restaurant is quite loud. We were grateful to be seated outside so we could hear ourselves talk. The outdoor heaters were amazing! Our waiter was very funny and appropriately attentive. We got one of the Alameda restaurant week prix fixe dinners and fettacini Bolognese. The proportion of the restaurant week meal was unbelievably small. For the crab cakes, you got one quarter size crab cake! The soup tasted like it was from Campbell's. The regular meal was good but the dessert (tiramisu) was literally cut in half! The table next to ours got a regular size tiramisu (for free because it was one of the guest's birthday) so we knew what the size should be. I don't think the restaurant week menu is good value for $40. Future guests should just order what you like so you're not disappointed.
