A Trabocco is a unique fishing pier found along the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. Architect and Designer Lev Weisbach of Weisbach Architecture|Design was inspired by the beautiful Trabocchi of Abruzzo when he created his spectacular design. With its reclaimed wood ceilings, dramatic copper encased fireplace, and modern bar Trabocco is warm and welcoming yet strikingly dramatic and modern.
We were celebrating my friend’s birthday for lunch. The food was amazing and the service was even better. We plan on coming back again for regular lunch and dinner. Such a great place!
We sat at the prep bar. There are about a dozen places where you can see the chefs “do their magic “. rather places are first come first served.
Watching dinners flowing out of the open kitchen provided a master class in cooking Italian food.
Took a friend to lunch for her birthday. My all time favorite Alameda restaurant.
Came in for a birthday dinner and our host greeted us and provided us the specials of the day. The accents were a bit heavy so it was hard to catch all the details( not their fault
We sat in the enclosed outdoor area with heat lamps. MUCH quieter than the main part of the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Highly recommended.
We celebrated our friends 21st birthday and she was thrilled.especially with Giuseppes wonderful surprise dessert. Greta is a most wonderful professional waitress. She has a delightful, personality and was very supportive to us through the whole meal. We have brought several, new friends to your great restaurant and look forward to returning soo. Graze from an Italian American senior in Oakland . We also appreciated the flexibility with our arrival time as we had a delay.
What a marvelous dining experience... superb staff, excellent cuisine and a memorable evening. Would rate Trabocco six stars if it was an option!
Good food, nice atmosphere, convenient parking. What’s not to like.
Food was excellent although entrees came out at significant time intervals (we had an early res before they got busy). Our waiter was nothing short of outstanding. I cannot remember his name but he was an Italian gentleman with silver hair. Amiable, attentive and extremely funny - great interaction with our party. Unfortunately, the hostess was on the opposite end of the spectrum. One of our party cancelled at the last minute. I informed her when we walked in that our party was one less than originally reserved. She had two place settings removed and then got nasty with us when we were being seated. Then she approached our waiter after we had ordered dessert and told him he could not serve us dessert, he had to clear the table. Our waiter was very apologetic- we got dessert to go. An otherwise delightful meal and evening tainted by a snarky hostess. I understand the need to turn tables for incoming parties, but dessert had already been ordered and a last round of drinks served. We would have been out within 10-15 min anyway. Too bad.
The food was consistent with the quality we have come to expect. Service was spectacular.
Great Service. Great food. Marshall our server was great.
No restaurant is at its finest on New Years, but this was a disappointment.
We had a great New Year’s Eve dinner before heading to the USS Hornet party.
Have already recommended this restaurant to several friends.
Trabocco is our Alameda gem, a favorite local restaurant. Buon Appetito!
Awesome food great service love Giuseppe
Nice yo have such a great spot in the neighborhood
The food was very good the waiter was a delight. We sat in the enclosed patio area and it was very quiet out there. It was a cold day but the heaters in there made it quite nice.
We try to go here each time we go to Alameda, but this time the service was so wonderful it was even better than usual. Excellent food and drinks too.
Good place for grabbing a bite. Easy to understand menu, great service, and easy parking.
Never disappoints, always a delicious meal at Trabocco!
Excellent Authentic Italian food found in a hideaway place in Alameda California. Owner and the staff could not be more excellent at their service and craft. Really, a surprise when we moved to the East Bay and one we will take with us as long as they keep serving outstanding Italian food.
Best restaurant in Alameda! The food, service and ambiance is wonderful. Easy parking in Southshore mall.
Trabocco is one of my favorite Alameda restaurants. The food is always excellent -- fresh, organic when possible, innovative and above all, supremely tasty! The wait staff are professional; you are their priority. There are three seating areas: the main dining hall which is a bit loud for me due to the tall ceiling, the patio which pleasant, and best of all, the back room which is like a private dining room, and so quiet you can have a heart-to-heart talk with your companion. Trabocco is unconditionally recommended for both casual lunches or special occasions.
I ate here this past weekend with my family and friends and had a wonderful experience. I had one of the specials, grilled salmon with polenta and fennel tomato salad and wish I ordered one to go . The waiters and staff were all polite and I can’t wait to come back.
All is good
You cannot find a more positive atmosphere in Alameda for a dining experience.
The staff is superb, from seating, to preparing you to order from a great menu and daily specials.
The waits staff and owner really take great care of you at your table. Personally serving you, asking questions or suggesting a food variety if you haven't enjoyed everything choice they provide.
I have always been enthusiastic about going to Traboco. You will be very pleased with this restaurant and anyone you bring will love it! Enjoy!
Service was very good. I was concerned about options because the published menu was not as extensive as the dinner menu. However, they had at least eight specials with lovely options. We ordered the tomato soup with fennel, oxtail ravioli and the beet risotto with pork. Everything was delicious and the portions were large enough to share.
Best service we had with Marshall
Great food and service. The location at the center of the shopping center is not the most charming but Trabocco's space is nice.
Trabocco is our favorite place to dine in Alameda! We have been going there regularly for over 5 years. The menu offers a large selection, besides their daily special, which will meet everyone’s dietary preferences. Food quality is always superb, fresh, and delicious! My husband and I enjoy their famous seafood stew, fresh halibut credo, pizza, branzino, prime rib and lamb shank, just to name a few. Portion is generous, and we usually have left over for our next day lunch! The host and hostess ( especially Christine) are warm and friendly, greet customers cheerfully, and always remember our table seating preference. The wait staff are efficient, well trained, professional and attentive. It is a perfect spot for casual lunch or dinner with friends, birthday or any special celebration party. We always leave with a happy, full stomach, warm feelings of supreme satisfaction each time, and can’t wait to be back again
Just great people ... always willing to help and super friendly. Food is always outstanding cooked and served with passion.
First time to this restaurant, really nice choices and the flavors were wonderful!! Will definitely go back.
I can't say enough good things about Trabocco. We're soooo glad we went, based on a recommendation from Open Table! I think my favorite part was the service. Everyone there seemed genuinely happy to be working at Trabocco. And then there's the ambiance and the excellent food, from entree to dessert.
We WILL definitely be back/.
We love the butternut sq stuffed pasta and oxtail ravioli
The food was great, the drinks devine! We"ll be back!
I have loved Trabocco for a long time but this visit was a miss. The servers did not remove chairs to make room for my friend's scooter even when we were trying to move them ourselves and the waitress was distracted. The vegetarian pasta with vegetables was underseasoned and all 3 dishes were smothered in cheese. I'm really disappointed because I have loved this restaurant for years. Unfortunately it was friends' first time so they won't be returning and I'm hesitant as well. Hopefully it was just a mediocre night and not a reflection of the restaurant changing.
Holiday Office dinner. Our waiter was not attentive. After we received our main courses, one entree was not cooked to order. We had to signal the waiter to return the entree.
Even though it is in a mall, it’s hands down the best restaurant in the island.
Extremely friendly and accommodating staff; extensive menu offering delicious traditional and also creative dishes; attractive room.
I never expected to find a gem of an Italian restaurant in a mall in Alameda, but Trabocco is that place. The interior is spacious and beautifully appointed, right down to the most comfortable restaurant chairs I've ever experienced. Our server, Pedro, was attentive without being overbearing, and he managed a daunting list of specials with aplomb. The menu is extensive, with (I'm sure) something for every taste; I particularly recommend anything that comes with polenta -- how good can polenta be? Fantastic: creamy, perfectly seasoned, the ideal comfort food. From the bread (delicious) straight through to dessert, every dish we had was wonderful.
If you prefer a quiet space in which to enjoy a meal, make your reservation on the early side; we arrived at 6pm and had no trouble conversing, but by the time we left the ambiance was "energetic", to say the least. We can't wait for our second visit!
