My only complaint was that even though we had reservations we had to wait 15 minutes for a table. That may have been due to some inconsiderate customers who dawdled after dinner.
Food is always superb, service was awesome. Sat outside under a large structure and felt safe and secure. Thank you!
This is our favorite restaurant in Alameda. The food is always exceptional and the service is excellent!
Always pretty consistent. Hostess and Server excellent! Wine list needed to be updated with correct vintages but I understand it’s hard to keep up during these difficult times. Love the chef/owner and how he and his staff are always very welcoming.
Quality time with siblings.
The food wad good, not great. Everything needed more seasoning. The servicewas wonderful
We always go for special occasions. Great staff and food ..and owners
Never had a disappointing meal at this restaurant. My favorites are the Carpaccio, the Agnolotti di Zucca and for dessert Zabaiglione. Also good cocktails
Excellent service and many options for their daily specials. I would recommend this restaurant to friends.
Great meal and excellent service!
Usually great but our waiter was slow or mia most of the time
Truly amazing food. Attentive but not invasive servers. Applause for the chef!
The food hear is consistently delicious! The presentation is always as appetizing as the dishes themselves and the service is always gracious and attentive!
Consistently excellent service and food. Best in Alameda!
The food and service was excellent. It was lacking ambiance and it was very loud.
Great place to bring the family, the staff is always very friendly and helpful.
Brought my elderly aunt to lunch. She was craving steak -A nice New York strip. Chef grilled one up for her even though it’s not on the menu. That made her day. Thanks Chef! Food here never disappoints.
Love this place!
The food was very good - everything I was expecting based on word-of-mouth from other people. If I had one comment to make, I think the kitchen could cut back on some of the salt used. Deliciously flavored food, but a little on the salty side.
We love this place and go there for special occasions. Our waiter was superb.
My son’s 30th Birthday
Food and environment excellent as always. Service was a bit slower than normal but it was a beautiful Saturday with my customers. Glad to see one of my favorite restaurants back in the swing of things!
Marshall was our server. He was excellent!!!!We we’re astounded by his description of all the specials…it was amazing. Food was superb. We celebrated our daughter’s 31st birthday and they presented her with a gorgeous display of “Happy Birthday” wishes onto the platter…with her chosen creme brûlée. We loved every part of our meal celebration.
Consistently outstanding, a great restaurant in Alameda.
Giuseppe and his staff always provide an excellent dining experience. They are warm, attentive and friendly. The food is great.
I really like this restaurant. The food is quite good, service is always attentive, atmosphere is nice. It’s a bit loud inside when the restaurant is full. I especially like the added outdoor dining space. I hope they keep it.
Great place for fresh fish, home made pasta, great drinks(local choices) and amazing dessert! I personally took home 1/2 my pasta entree so I can eat dessert.
Love sitting outside relaxing on a warm summer afternoon. Had the Christina pizza my all time favorite.
Food not that great. Service not that great. Champagne good.
The food was great but the service was very slow. Two tables that came after us got their food first!
Excellent service and food! The restaurant was on top of everything and made it a very enjoyable birthday celebration. Great for large groups.
The entire menu looked great and our server offered so many special dishes, it was hard to decide what to get. My friend and I ultimately ordered the grilled octopus starter, which was amazing, seafood stew, and grilled rib eye. Tiramisu was an awesome choice for dessert.
We will definitely go back to try their home made pastas and pizza next time.
Food, service and ambiance as excellent as before covid. 3 adults 1 toddler outside seating for birthday lunch. Very comfortable & spacious. Grilled octopus w/potatoes, fried calamari, beet & watercress salad, oxtail ravioli, pasta stuffed w/butternut squash, ossobucco, tiramisu, zabaglione w/fresh berries, and espresso over gelato were all amazing! Delicious and beautifully presented. Very warm, gracious & efficient service.
Food, drinks and atmosphere are excellent. We sat at the kitchen bar and enjoyed learning from chef Gillespie, who's also the owner. He was very friendly and attentive.
The olives are the best I've ever had and the carpaccio is really good as was the barratta caprese. I felt the pork belly could have used a bit more seasoning and rendered a bit more but still excellent as were the lamb skewers.
Probably the best part was the whole grilled fish with cherry tomato compote. Again, I prefer a bit more salt but that's me. Still excellent and perfectly cooked.
Great cappuccinos and the flourless chocolate cake was creamy and delicious.
This was my third time at Trobacco and likely my last. I have friends who rave about it and travel from other parts of the Bay to come eat here. However, none of the times I’ve eaten here have I been impressed. The pizzas are not great, although they should be and I hate that thawed are served uncut and one is given a huge clumsy cutting tool which take up a lot of small table real estate. The waiter has handled it and now so will you as well as the pizza you will be putting in your mouth. Our waiter also had just previously touched his mask with the same hand.he was very charming and dramatic while telling us of the specials and was pretty quick to bring more drinks for my friend, but I was never offered a refill of iced tea or any kind of sweetener. I asked for more ice which should have come out with my friends second Chardonnay but I had to ask a second time it was a very hot day and we were seated in a tent which was not at all cool and had zero ambience. My pizza needed flavor...no salt to be found anywhere...asked for red pepper flakes but was almost done by the time they arrived. We ordered calamari which also had no taste. Fried well and not oily but tasteless as was the marinara served on the side.
Nearly $100 for a tasteless pizza, calamari appetizer, a tomato and arugula salad and 2 drinks. I’d rather drive into SF and have a real Italian meal in a place that isn’t in a suburban shopping mall
Great service! My dish was a bit salty but still tasty. Wine suggestion was spot on for our meal. I’d go again
Great food, great vibe, good service, well run, awesome experience. Probably my 20th time here, consistent quality at a fair price. Will keep going back.
Always the BEST!! Delicious food, great atmosphere, excellent service!!
The food was excellent and the server made the experience even better. He was knowledgeable, personable and enthusiastic. The best! The chef also came out and greeted us. I’ll definitely bring guests there again.
Excellent Italian food in a charming shopping-center setting
