A Trabocco is a unique fishing pier found along the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. Architect and Designer Lev Weisbach of Weisbach Architecture|Design was inspired by the beautiful Trabocchi of Abruzzo when he created his spectacular design. With its reclaimed wood ceilings, dramatic copper encased fireplace, and modern bar Trabocco is warm and welcoming yet strikingly dramatic and modern.
I had lunch here with some friends. I was immediately struck by the genuine friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Just the right amount of attention was paid; the staff was attentive without pestering. Everyone at my table had different dietary needs, and the inventive and varied menu had something for everyone. One of our party requested a change to one dish, as she was avoiding carbs, and the waitress was happy to accommodate.
The food arrived quickly, and it was all delicious. My salmon platter was wonderful, and there was enough fish on it for me to save the rest for dinner. The prices are a little higher here than the kinds of places we usually eat (casual Vietnamese and the like), but for the quality, quantity and atmosphere, it was well worth it. Now that I've found Trabocco, I'll be back!
Impeccable service and food. Loved the Chef's visit to our table to deliver the birthday Tiramisu!
I love this place! The food is always excellent and the service is the best!
Great menu with something for everybody who loves Italian food. I've eaten both lunch and dinner at Trabocco, and it's always been excellent.
Great wine, great food, great family run business. Everything is great, but try the pizza, squash raviolis, and zabaglione for desert!
Trabocco never disappoints. This is our go to spot for the pizza Christina and we always start with the soup. They had a vegan butternut squash and a bean soup that was amazing. My wife loves the rare old fashioned and our daughters had Italian sodas. The chef brought out a tiramisu for my wife’s birthday and sang happy birthday to her.
Service is always perfect. Restaurant is always clean.
Food is always amazing.
Staff is always professional and attentive.
Chef is an amazing guy.
Excellent as always!
Excellent food and great service! The owner, Giuseppe, is always there from opening to closing and ready to greet you, and the whole personnel is very professional and friendly. My dad, 88 years old, and I love going there!
Food is fabulous here! Never had a bad meal or bad service. Very authentic Italian food. Only thing is, it is noisy and we couldn’t hear each other even though it wasn’t full at lunchtime. This is my go to place for any kind of celebration. Can’t wait to come back!
The food is always amazing, they have a full bar and the owner is always friendly and a great chef!
I recommend trabocco to all my friends :-)
The food was excellent as was the service. Always a great place to celebrate.
As always, Trabocco provided a wonderful meal. Even on Mother’s Day, the service was excellent and the food was perfectly cooked and presented in a most appealing manner. We were impressed with the expanded menu of specials.
Awesome restaurant. Food was excellent. The staff was superb. Definitely going again. My mother really enjoyed her mothers day. She actually said it was like eating her fish back home in Peru. Thank you very much
The owner is very nice. He cooks and is also busy greeting his customers. I was not impressed with the old waiter out on the patio. He was cold and non communicative. He spoke a bit in German for some strange reason because he is from Italy..... whatever. Not going back.
Friendly staff, every dish is delicious, caprese salad is a must have every visit! Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed!!!
Too loud to hear each other.
Pork chop was not good. Poorly seasoned, no char and very chewy.
Not, at all, close to the quality of other visits.
However, service was great.
Wonderful experience! Very good food. Got special tiramisu for our anniversary. However it is just a bit loud and hard to talk. Sound proofing could help :)
Christine and Guiseppe were as always warm and inviting, as close to eating in their home as you can get in a full service restaurant. All of the food was delicious and the Happy Birthday platter with dessert was very special.
Fantastic as always!
Ate a great Sunday lunch, this place won the Best Restaurant category in the Alameda Magazine because owner chef Giuseppe is always there and welcoming his customers. Plus he serves great Italian comfort food. I feel it is one of the best in the East Bay for sure, no need to cross the bridge into SF anymore!!
Great food and service
Service: The servers and bus staff were very professional, solicitous and engaging.
The hostess and our waiter were far less than that, leaving us with the impression that they were doing us a favor by serving us.
Food: the food was good but considering the prices that would be the minimum to be expected. The gnocchi was outstanding, the tiramisu was near tasteless
Overall: the restaurant is bright, clean, a bit crowded and very noisy, conversation with the person next to you is possible but across the table is a bit more difficult
We were fine with our experience at Trabocco but nothing compels us to come again or to recommend it to others
One of my favorite restaurants. The food is delicious, well prepared and beautifully presented. There are always daily specials to enjoy as well. Save room for the outstanding desserts! Chef Giuseppe and his staff make you feel right at home. Looking forward to my next visit and planning to celebrate my birthday there too!
Excellent food, GREAT service. Loved everything about this dining experience.
Wonderful lunch on the patio to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Food, service and surroundings were perfect! Hubby is not easily impressed, but he was quite pleased on how Trabocco got EVERYTHING right! He wants to return again and that says it all!!!
As always, we had a wonderful meal with great service.
Great ambiance, food tasted good, great service!
Comfort-food, Perfect executed cuisine. Love this restaurant!
Michele is outstanding! If you want to be entertained, sit in the patio area and pray that Michele serves you! A true gem and super super Italian!
Service was friendly and on spot. The Chef dropped by which for people in the Food Service Industry is a very big thing. It was a great afternoon to start a great evening. Glad we were able to find Trabacco!!!
Trabocco was perfect for us. We wanted to get some excellent food at 4:00 PM and still be near to the Oakland Airport for a 6:00 PM pickup. The location of the restaurant is charming in an inner lane of a cute outdoor mall. The food was excellent and the service matched the food. We now know where we will go to eat in Alameda.
I've been coming to Trabocco for years and they have never disappointed me. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Alameda.
Great atmosphere, great food, wonderful experience. Casual dinning, good for kids and service was remarkable.
Always enjoy our meals here. Can be a little noisy at times, but wonderful food and service.
It was a very nice dining experience for Easter
Our absolute favorite restaurant....always delicious food...great neighborhood gem.
Great food and selection. Service is excellent. Pizza and pastas are terrific.
Great service, “created” a dish upon request; Giuseppe served the Birthday tiramisu personally.
Always a wonderful dining experience! Grateful for this gem of a restaurant in Alameda! It has become our special place for family meals! Thank you!
Trabocco is great, have been there multiple times on business trips to San Fran. Out on Alameda so a bit of a drive from the city but it’s worth it. Creative menu items specials change frequently (recommend the duck any time you can get it). Drinks made well, all around great value in the $$-$$$ range.
