Food selections was good. It is very load at lunch during the week.
The staff is very friendly and attentive. Our waiter made sure we had all we needed and was the perfect blend of attention and leaving us alone to have our conversations without much interruption. Noise level is a little high but tolerable. Food was great and served quickly which was important for us as we were out for lunch.
Took the team here for lunch since it was billed as a good meeting place. Screaming is the only way to get your point across as the space is a huge echo chamber. The service was fast and our waiter was attentive refilling our drinks without the need to ask. The food was excellent and good value. There is construction taking place next door so outdoor seating is not ideal at this time.
I liked the restaurant in general. I ordered tacos and chicken wings. Steak tacos were great but my chicken wings came out burnt. I got buffalo wings but it looked like blackened chicken. I couldn't return them because I got the chicken wings as a to-go.
It’s a really great atmosphere outside on Wacker in the financial district. The menu isn’t anything super unique but the food is definitely better than average and really cheap. Also $12 cocktails.. down
Second time at Townhouse, a rare repeat visit for us. It's upscale pub food essentially, but every dish wows a bit more than you'd expect. Plus, at a very reasonable price. And our server, Zach, was excellent... matched the fun of our slightly inebriated group. Highly recommended.
Good spot for a business lunch. When the weather is nice, sitting outside is wonderful, as it's tucked off Wacker and there is little sidewalk distraction. The food is creative and I liked the tacos and the black beans had a nice little kick to them.
Shay our waitress was the worst. Zero service and no apologies for making us wait....for a napkin. Yes a napkin took 15 minutes. I finally called the restaurant from their patio and explained I was a guest and waved at the hostess who was clearly friends with Shay. Still no napkin. Took forever to get our to go boxes and the food was fair at best. Two greasy sandwiches. No water refills. Tea finally refilled at the end of our meal. Horrible. Never going back.
Food was good and service was the best! Always enjoy dining at townhouse.
Made the mistake of sitting outside for a lunch meet-up. There was construction going on next door which made it difficult to have a conversation. Though not the fault of Townhouse, but didn't create a great experience – should have sat inside (I guess). Also, it might be typical of Chicago, but $18 for a lunch salad is way too expensive.
The food is always good and the ambiance is always friendly.
Great food and service but it is a bit loud for any extended conversation.
Food was excellent but service was poor. Seated outside as requested but the waitress had to be asked to take the order after waiting about 20 mins. Then had to request the waitress to get the check.
Construction noise while sitting outside was a bummer, but otherwise, all very nice!
waited over 40 mins for three salads. noise level was so loud, you had to yell to talk
Food is excellent but service is a little slow, especially during the lunch hour.
I wanted a restaurant close to our hotel that had a good selection of wine. This place filled the bill. This is my second time at this restaurant and both times have been enjoyable. Excellent service.
Everything was good. Had chopped salad with salmon. Lettuce could have been chopped a little better. Salmon was cooked really nicely-not overdone. It was very hot in the restaurant. Like the AC was not working. By the time I left I felt very wilted and sweating. Will try again. Waiter was ver attentive but would have nice to get a fresh glass of water with ice!
Delicious farm house burger and shrimp tacos. It would be nice if they had local crafts on draft.
Server was excellent. Food very good. Very loud room at lunch. Conversation tough at times.
This is the 2nd time I've had dinner at Townhouse for a business dinner and have had excellent, attentive service, good drinks and wonderful, well prepared & presented food. My guests (who were from Europe, Canada and the US) loved the atmosphere and the great food!
Food is worth it. Service has room for improvement.
Seated quickly. I didn't realize the big windows view an alley instead of the river. I ordered a Cuban sandwich and it was not what I expected, a square bread, higher proportion of pork than I expected, but somehow it just didn't come together right. Business associate ordered a salad that had very little protein in it. I asked to substitute sweet potato fries for french fries, which are the same price on the menu. Waitress said yes and then when I got the bill I saw that I was charged $2 for the substitution. Waitress not very attentive overall. Spent $48 on sandwich, salad, and one ice tea. Just seemed a bit overpriced for what we got and given the noise level and the lackluster service, I will not be coming back.
Food was goid. Served hot. Tables and chairs were slight upgrade from cafeteria - not appropriate for room quality
Great food good for business lunch...... the tacos are superb
Loved our meal and our waiter. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought ice cream for all of us... Very sweet... nice touch and greatly appreciated.
Good food, service was fine, but they asked us to leave (even though nicely) after paid the bill so they could clean the table. There was still a few customers there after the lunch crowd. It was very crowded, and super noisy, none of us could hear one and another well, constantly repeating ourselves. It was not this noisy before.
It was good except for the hostess giving away our table. We were right on time for the reservation but ended up waiting because she gave away our table. Looks bad when you’re entertaining for work. Probably won’t be back because of it.
Curry is way too heavy for mussels, I don't recommend their current dish. Their wagyu steak also did not seem like wagyu, but maybe my standards are too high.
Room was a bit noisy but could still have a good conversation & food was very good.
Solid business lunch place. Need to work on service, took a long time to be greeted at table.
My go to lunch is a great salad and a great glass of wine. Townhouse has both. Highly recommmend for quick lunch service in a pretty restaurant.
This is clearly a "go to" for lunch downtown! Food and service are top notch.
Was there for a business luncheon. Overall nice, busy place. For the price, the portions might underwhelm (except the salads where the size is proportional to the price tag)
Great for lunch....many tasty choices, nice pace and friendly service.
Convenient location. Food was tasty but the tacos were greasy. Service was very good.
It's been awhile since I've been to Townhouse and it seems as though, unfortunately, it has lost its appeal. I ordered the portabello mushroom sandwich and it there were only a few strips of mushroom on the whole thing. Not what I was expecting for the price point. My colleagues ordered the turkey burger and Greek salad, respectively. Neither were too impressed.
It's too bad because I really used to like this place.
Went to Townhouse for a late business lunch. The waitress was attentive and very friendly while the food was delicious. I highly recommend the Thai Salmon.
Townhouse is a convenient place in the Chicago Loop to have a quick lunch or dinner and/or grab a cocktail. The food is good, but not great, and the beer selection is pretty much the same. You will pay "Chicago" prices for the restaurant.
Wait staff was attentive early on but took a long time to get food and then the check. Ceiling is really high and lots of noise. Food was good but seemed extra salty - might just have been my meal choice - brisket french dip. Must admit I really liked the brisket and the bread on which the sandwich was served.
