Must have been an off night for Town.
Great evening! I met with some former co-workers and friends to catch up! We ate outside since it was a rare warm night! The service was impeccable! We lounged at our table for close to 3 hours and we were never pressured to leave. This was a great dining experience and the food was very good! I have been here before and the service and food are always top notch!
Town breakfast is very good. There are many delicious choices. The breakfast sandwich and the chicken & waffles are amazing. The bacon is the best around!!!
Every experience at Town is always top notch. The food, the cocktails, service and ambiance never cease to amaze me. I brought my boyfriend here for the first time and he loved everything about it. Thank you to everyone at Town for always providing a consistently excellent experience!
Service was slow food ok we have had better
Everything is good!
Our server Tania was outstanding. It was Good Friday and the place was packed. She always managed to come by and make sure we were well taken care of. Definitely - we will be back!
Lunch at Town is the best kept secret in San Carlos. It is difficult to get dinner reservations if you don’t think ahead, but lunch was easy! Great food, probably more than you can eat in the middle of the day, but they’ll happily box up the extras. The shaking beef was lovely, with a wedge salad as part of the $19 lunch special. Their meatloaf sandwich was stacked with goodies and served with an ample green salad. Good service, too, although don’t do this if you’re in a super rush.
Only come here on special occasions and for good reason. Food was excellent and service was solid. There were some hiccups that I marked down but still a good overall experience. We'll be back again for sure!
ambience was perfect. We had really good seating, where it’s good for intimate conversation and also close to the TVs at the bar. We celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday, and i think that the restaurant executed that well starting with the host who seated us, the specialized menus, and a birthday dessert on the house.
We had a small problem with my friends gluten free meal but the waiter and manager went beyond the call of duty to make sure we were both taken care of. They provided wonderful service that you don't get much these day. We will definitely tell people about this place and return ourselves.
This was our first time at Town Restaurant. My family of five adults were celebrating a birthday. Everything from the philly cheesesteak tacos to the beef entrees were sublime! The men groaned over the fabulous steaks and the sauces. But nothing could have been better than the Bread Pudding--I am drooling just thinking about it. We will be back for more!!!
Well prepared and attractive tasty dishes, with generally too much salt on the meat dishes.
My 8 year old son brought me to Town for a special date. The team was wonderful and welcoming.
we love Enrique and all the wait staff. Food is tops...especially cauliflower appetizer. Keep on keepin' on. thanks
Food and service were both outstanding! The hostess was polite and accommodating, and our waiter was exceptionally attentive, friendly, and such a delight to have serve us. The filet mignon was tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. In fact, our guest from New York City said it was one of the best dishes he has ever had. My husband raved about his New York steak. The side dishes of creamed spinach, parmesan broccoli, roasted rainbow carrots, and potato au gratin were all a hit. For the vegan in the party, the quinoa kale bowl with veggies was over the top delicious. In fact, there wasn’t any item; from the appetizers to the entrees to the dessert, that we wouldn’t want to go back and order again. Loved the added touch of my personal birthday menu. And as full as we all were, we polished every last bite of the complimentary apple bread pudding with butter cinnamon sauce. Left Town feeling satiated and eager to go back again. Thank you for making my birthday an extra special experience.
we've been going to TOWN for years and sometimes the service and food is great but its' not always consistent. I feel like they now pre-make the sushi and it tastes like it's been sitting in a refrigerator all-day so the rice is kind of hard and it doesn't taste made-to-order. Other food was good. Service was not good on the night we went. We had a young male waiter who barely checked on us and I had to get up myself to request dessert from the hostess station.
Always love coming to Town, the food and service are outstanding . It’s always a fantastic place to meet up with friends on the Peninsula .
We enjoyed dinner at Town this past week to celebrate a birthday. Our waiter, Enrique, was exceptional as was the service and the food. He made us fell at home, never rushed us and suggested an outstanding bottle of cabernet to enjoy with our steaks. The steaks were perfectly prepared, flavorful and tender. The sides were delicious and we really had a fun time at Town. We will be back very soon and really appreciated the personalized menus for our friend's birthday celebration.
This is the second time we’ve been here and it was as good as we remembered.
We got sat right away. Offered options for us to sit. Food came out fast, tasted excellent.
We were celebrating my husband’s birthday. The menus had happy birthday with the date. They brought out a delicious dessert for us after our delicious dinner. Of course we had to try other desserts too. Town is awesome!
My husband ordered the bone in ribeye and I ordered the prime rib. We both wanted our steak medium rare. However, mine came out rare, and my husband's came out well done. Even though we were steak lovers and hungry, we ended up leaving a lot of steak untouched. We had heard good things about the restaurant, and were very disappointed at how the steaks were cooked.
As usual great food, service was very good and the noise level through the roof as usual
We always enjoy the excellent food, ambiance, and service at Town. This visit for Sunday brunch was no exception. But then our server, Walter, went the extra step. While our food was very good, it had arrived only luke warm. We ate it anyway, and enjoyed it. But when our bill arrived, I mentioned it to Walter. He immediately took the bill back and in a few minutes the manager came over. He apologized for the luke warm food, said it shouldn't have happened, and comped our brunch. Both the manager and Walter were so nice about it. Can't ask for anything more from a great place like Town. We'll be back! (I LOVE their eggs Benedict.)
We waited over an hour for our food and weren’t informed until 45 min that the kitchen was backed up. My eggs Benedict muffin was burnt so the entire meal tasted burnt. The fact that we had already waited an hour I decided not to send the food back and wait any longer to eat. Our request to sit outside was denied because we had a reservation, so we had to sit inside where it is always loud. My best friend and I have been coming there for our Birthdays for years. We are going to look for somewhere else in the future.
Just the best on the Peninsula.
Go for the food and service.
Love this place!
Love the ability to personalize the menu. Make a big splash !
Our first bad experience at Town!
We usually order the crab sandwich, which is excellent.
This time we ordered the fish tacos on the Power Lunch. I had a cup of soup; my husband had the cabbage salad.
My chowder was mediocre and barely warm; the salad was devoid of bacon and blue cheese. My husband asked, and received cheese. The salad lacked the usual flavor.
The fish was awful- deep fried with a hard coating, and impossible to roll in the taco and eat from the hand.
Neither of us finished our fish. Just too bland and tasteless.
Wish we had gone with our original instincts and ordered the crab sandwich!!
Town never disappoints and remains one of our long-standing favorites. Managed to combine some of our traditional favorites - Napa Cabbage Salad and California Rolls with some newer ones including the incredible cauliflower. Special call-out to Iggy for exceptional service. Really appreciate the excellent and consistent experience.
Food took forever to come out. Waited much longer than normal and I’ve been here many times
Great place for steaks and people watching. Never had a bad meal there.
great dinner. fancy but comfortable and the service was amazing.
Yes, the food the service the atmosphere is so worth it. The only thing I didn't care for is that bread and butter aren't provided. Thanks for asking.
The team does Great Job as always. I recommend Town to my friends
Sat off to the side of the bar in a quieter corner so could have a decent conversation but Town is always packed so it’s pretty noisy otherwise. The food was great - my husband’s salmon was cooked perfectly and the new springtime preparation is awesome with favs beans & peas. I had the teriyaki skirt steak (which I usually get) and it was predictably delicious! Bar did a great job on our cocktails to start and the service is always friendly and attentive. Love my neighborhood restaurant!
Order the asparagus risotto...you won't be disappointed.
