The food was average. I ordered grits but they served me cornmeal, but okay. I have had better beignets at street food stands. What is super irritating is all the surcharges. Living wage, 5%? The employer should be paying their employees a living wage and that should be reflected in the cost of the meal. Credit card surcharge of 2.75% Once again, this is the cost of doing business and should be reflecting in the meal. When will businesses understand that disrespecting their customer by slapping on hidden compulsory surcharges is bad for their business. I would happily have paid more for a higher priced meal that incorporated these costs--that would have been honest. The surprise surcharges made me take my rating from a 3 to a 2. Furthermore, if Toulouse cannot respect me, I will go elsewhere in the future and take my friends with me.

Wesly chose to plaster the same 'review' all over the internet. You can find identical 'reviews' on Google and Yelp. That's a lot of effort to air grievances. The credit card surcharge is 3 percent everywhere, and has become standard issue in full service dining. The five percent surcharge is the only way to remain remotely 'comparable' to every restaurant in Seattle charging 20 to 22% automatic gratuities, which forces their patrons into that charge. Those places are doing that for one reason only: to raid their service staff's incomes and take literally half of it . . . while also printing eight to tweleve percent lower menu prices than what you're really paying. Hiding what is taken from their staffs to print those lower prices. Our staff is better compensated than anywhere.

The menu changed and they no longer serve St. Helens ranch ribeye. What I received was nowhere near the size and portion of what I’ve had many times over the years. I was very disappointed. **Edit: since the restaurant responded I will respond as well. What I received was smaller than anything I’ve received at this restaurant before. It is entirely possible my order was mixed up or otherwise, but what I received was a steak on piece of what appeared to be stone with some fries on the side in a separate metal container. The fries were not the same, the steak was not the same, and I specifically ordered the steak frites. As for the claim that St. Helen’s is barely above grocery store standards, old menus online from this restaurant show it was on the menu. For years. To respond that it is of lesser quality as an insult of some kind when this restaurant served it for years is a disservice to this establishment’s history. Again, I will concede that it’s possible there was a mixup and what I received was not what I ordered. But responding that what I received was somehow bigger and better was not my experience. This response furthers my disappointment with this establishment because it was my favorite place to dine at in Seattle. I’ve now lowered my overall experience score based on the response I received.

This is exactly the same steak from the same producer as we have always offered, and the size of the boneless Rib Eye as been increased from 8 to 10 ounces. Okanogan Ranches is their premium top of choice and into Prime designation. St Helens is their mid-tier steak. We do not offer the St. Helens grade of Rib Eye, as it is just above grocery store level beef. We also offer a 16 ounce Prime 28 dry aged bone in steak from Okanogan Ranches. Our boneless 10 oz. Okanogan Ranches Rib Eye will be smaller than that and is the top end of Choice grade beef, which most people cannot tell the difference between that and prime. Prime grade Rib Eye is almost fifty percent higher than top end of choice by weight.

One of many visits and this was the first time we had any problems with our food. The aioli sauce was off and they quickly replaced it with a different sauce. They said it was because of the saffron but we don't think that was it. Otherwise , the scallops were delicious. We ate off the happy hour menu which helped keep the cost down. They have added a surcharge if you use a credit card so be aware. Maybe consider bringing cash.

The food and service were very good. I liked the overall vibe and that they sourced local artists for furnishings.
