Ever since coming to DC for business Tosca has been a 'must go' dinner venue. All I can say is it reminds me of my youth and adulthood growing up in NYC with the authenticity and quality. Giovanni the GM goes OUT OF HIS WAY to please his customers and the wait staff (Tino) NEVER made us feel rushed. I have experience in man Michelin starred restaurants where the wait staff makes you feel rushed. Here it was my table for the evening as long as I wanted it. The longer we stayed the more attentive they became, not less attentive. The menu is flawless and I've tried several different seasonal menus. Why flawless, because of the creativity of Ricardo and his staff. The blending of different ingredients that one may never imagine go together...its a party in your mouth. When I go to dinner I want to be wowed with something I never thought of doing or have had before. Tosca is more than dinner, it is a destination when in DC. Oh, and the wine list is the best Italian list in all of DC and probably the surrounding Maryland/Virginia area.
We went for pre theatre dinner again and loved it. Food is exceptional as well as the staff and ambiance. Highly recommend!
The attention was very nice, and the service was exellent
Tosca is the best Italian food in DC. As a matter fact it may be one of the best in the US. The service there is beyond impeccable. Every person in this restaurant from the minute you walk in the door to the waiters, the bus staff, food runners, and the chef make you feel special. Not to mention the sommelier Giovanni , he is awesome. They make every occasion special. Whether you are there for business, a date or even eating alone you will enjoy the food and the warm welcome and service and you will leave wanting to come back.
I hadn't been to Tosca for several years, but it was convenient to our meeting so I took my out-of-town colleagues there. It's a lovely dining room and quiet enough to talk easily. The service was impeccable, attentive without being intrusive. We all ordered fish which was prepared very well. I also enjoyed the prosciutto with burrata. The wine list had some wonderful expensive choices but also a delightful Rosso de Montepulcciano, which we enjoyed.
Tosca welcomed us, seated us in timely fashion, and then treated us to an excellent menu of cocktails, food and wine in a most comfortable setting. We thought the fish and homemade pastas stood out. In a word, everything we'd hoped for.
This is such a wonderful restaurant !!!and the staff was so great.
Excellent service and outstanding food. We both had the Celery root soup as a starter. Very mild, but very good. Our main courses were Filetto and Costoletta di Vitello. Both were perfect.
Great ingredients and creative chefs made for a delicious meal and great pre theater experience. The service was exceptional. This restaurant continues to be at the top of the list for go to dining.
Two of us shared an appetizer, had a half portion of pasta each, a main dish each, and a dessert each. The portions were such that this worked well for us. The server had good recommendations. My water glass was never less than half full, and the team was very unobtrusive, so that was great. We enjoyed the food: cooked well and flavorful.
