Started off with the tortilla soup, huge serving of deliciousness!! The soup was full of chicken and at least half of an avocado, so glad we shared it! Had a salad and added grilled fish to it, was delicious and again, a huge serving! Would go again, especially after a week of grilled fish, it was nice to have some spice!
Love the guacamole, this place delivers every time we’ve been over several visits
Love this place! The fish is always delicious, the wait staff sincerely attentive and the margaritas memorable.
We love Tortilla Republic! The food is delicious and the chefs do an amazing job of preparing creative and eye appealing fishes. Our server was outstanding and very accommodating. The table side preparation of guacamole was an added bonus! Our family looks forward to another evening of dining at this wonderful restaurant.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner and wonderful evening celebrating our friends' anniversary at the Tortilla Republic. Dante was a friendly and fun server who made sure we had everything we needed including the amazing churos for dessert. The table side guacamole is not to be missed and the chicken enchiladas were the best I've ever had. Fun night, we'd highly recommend and would like to return some day.
Unique Mexican food. Great flavors. Yummy prep on fresh fish!
Great food and atmosphere
Jessi our waitress was Great I give her 6/5 stars. The hostest and your app were horrible, 0 communication. We most likely won't return but we will go dive with Jessi our server sometime, once again she was great but it seemed like no one else cared to be working there and doesn't like tips.
All good except we came for the table side guacamole and they only did it select nights. I would suggest checking if they are doing it before going. It is excellent
Wow! So we probably ordered too much food but it was amazing! We got the guacamole, the salsa trio & a main each. The food was brilliant & we were so full when leaving. Would definatly recommend to anyone to try here :)
The ancho chile rubbed monchong was great in taste and portion size. Service was very fast and prompt, though we got in just before a big group which probably helped. Wife's scallops were done just right and came with a nice blend of sides to complement the scallop. Churros for dessert is a must though I wish they'd separate the caramel and chocolate dipping sauces like it used to be in the past.
Terrible experience! One of guests never got her food. Never got condiments we requested. Over charged! We were charged$75 for the $45 pitcher of Margaritas. Items we did not get were on the bill. Furthermore, the waitress was very unprofessional. I highly recommend staying away from this place.
Great place to eat. The food was all great, but the table side guacamole was out of this world!
Food and wait staff are very good. The real problem is the hostess doesn't know what she is doing. We had to wait 15 minutes in line just to tell them we had a reservation, as you cannot get to the upstairs hostess without speaking to the first floor hostess, makes no sense. Even if they require this, they have to process people quickly as everyone in line was getting irritated as tables were available. Not entirely sure what the issue was with the hostess and hopefully it was just the one night we were there.
Love the food but not sure if we will go back on this trip given the issue with getting our table and how many other good options there are for places to eat in the area.
The atmosphere was nice, they had live music, the table side guacamole is delicious, I had the enchiladas and it was good. The food was good and their key lime pie is the bomb. Our server Jesse was great too!
Was a wonderful dining experience. Great atmosphere and food choices. Our waiter was absolutely top-caliber. The only bad mark would be the water server who was rude and appeared to hate her job.
Something has changed at this restaurant since we last time we dined here a year ago. The food is prepared differently than in the past and the service is not the same. We were told by a nearby vendor that the restaurant is under new management. Sadly, it shows. This has been a favorite go to for us over the last few years.
We support this local restaurant. This time was pretty disappointing. Took over 2 & 1/2 hours for dinner. We were with good friends so enjoyed thier company which helped with the length of time there. Last couple of times we have heard “the kitchen is backed up”.
Made reservations for upstairs dining and when we arrived were told the upstairs was closed due to some electrical issue. Not sure I believed that but that is what we were told. We were given a table downstairs, which was busy and did not have the ambiance we expected. Our waitress was young and seemed indifferent. Drinks were good. We had marguerites. We shared the seared Brussel sprouts appetizer which we both enjoyed. Our main entrees were good and ample. Other than the service, we were ok with the meal. We were disappointed about not being able to sit upstairs.
Every aspect of our dining experience was delightful, beginning with the hostess who seated us. Talking with her on the way upstairs (in the elevator because my husband recently had knee surgery) was like catching up with a friend. We were seated where we would have had a wonderful view of the sunset, but when the time came there was a cloud cover at the horizon. Our waitress was so sweet and made excellent recommendations. Our guacamole was prepared table side to our specified degree of heat, and was very good. We two ladies in the group ordered the local margarita and were quite pleased, great taste and strong enough but without an overpowering alcohol taste. The entrees were delicious and large portions. The Chile relino was extremely tender and flavorful. I ordered key lime pie for dessert - one of my favorites but they had run out, so upon recommendation ordered the chocolate decadence (or it may have had a different name) instead, which three of us shared. It was heavenly! We were delighted with the volume of the music which allowed us to enjoy our conversation. Wonderful experience
Our server Andrea was great and the table side guacamole was outstanding!
Awesome!!! Great menu and wonderful staff.
Can’t wait to return again and again.
Service upstairs was very good but the check in downstairs with a reservation was horrible. The check in person downstairs was simply not competent.
We love the upstairs at Tortilla Republic. For one things, you have the option of made at our table guacamole - wonderful! We both ordered the Enchiladas Suizas - one of our favorite entrees here snd , of course, the Perfect Margarita (what other places call the Cadillac).
From the moment of arrival, to being seated, ordering drinks and food, receiving food and beverages, to the general manager Sydney coming to check on our experience, was above and beyond our expectations. Highly recommend this restaurant for great food, cleanliness, ambiance and service!! 😁😁😁
The good: ambiance, location, margaritas, guacamole. The not we good: The food was bland overall, and the totrtillas were downright bad. This seems to me to be a restaurant that survives on solo visits from tourists.
We always enjoy Tortilla Republic. The food and drink are good, the atmosphere is lively.
Tortilla Republic has excellent authentic Mexican food. Great menu choices, delicious food.
Loved the guacamole and fajitas!
Slow service and steak was hard to chew through, but at least the guacamole was delicious
Flavorful food, good travelzoo coupon, service needs improvement
Great food, especially the guacamole made table side! Great vegan dinners also.
The staff was fantastic! There were eight of us and our waitress was on the ball! One order didn't come out as requested so she immediately fixed it! Also, they were out of the ganache chocolate cake and in turn brought out the Churro's on the house for all of us to share! Simply a wonderful experience! Will definitely return!
TOrtilla Republic serves excellent Mexican cuisine in a lovely atmosphere.
I know good Mexican food and this place was not it. Service was excellent and super friendly. The food, on the other hand, was poor. Salsa tasted canned and the vegetables for my fajitas were undercooked. For the cost, I would not recommend it for the food.
The service was excellent. Not exactly my type of food, I guess. Locations great. Everything was salty. Ask for less salt especially in the Guacamole served table side.
We were seated in a drafty area and asked to move but they only had one table for 2. The food tasted terrible and neither one of us liked it. It was in no way Mexican. I asked for extra cheese and found none. The waitress never returned to fill our water and we had to ask for someone else to do it.
Love this place! Guac and carnitas were amazing!
Best enchiladas me and my family have ever had. The food is amazing quality, made fresh and the service was amazing, server came right to the table as soon as we got there and took care of us until we left. We even made modifications to the meal and they were extremely helpful about it and met all of our needs! My mother got the scallops and said they were the best scallops she has ever had In her life! Best dinning experience in Kaua’i so far!!
