Second visit not as good as the first. Hostess had given away planned table sat us at front entrance.Both waitress and hostess gave the impression it was an inconvenience to serve. My enchiladas was cold, partners fajitas was good. House Margaritas were good

Disappointing. We have dined there in past years and thought the food was good. This year it was mushy and tasteless. The furniture is falling apart. Our waitress, Jo (?)was excellent.

Each time we come To Kauai we a point to eat at tortilla republic as much as we can; we simply love their food and the many options along with their extensive bar. Last time we were here it was two of us, now with our daughter we’re massing along the tradition and it’s still as enjoyable as before. Custom made guacamole goes perfectly with their corn chips and they amazing salsa...it’s got a kick but not so much as to not be able to taste the flavors...I would argue it enhances it. Love this place 👨‍👩‍👧

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Tortilla Republic while vacationing in the Poipu area. We had a wonderful table on the patio, excellent service from Brooke and it was also Taco Tuesday! Our food was delicious, the margaritas were freshly made & tasty, and it was a nice change up from all the seafood we had been enjoying. Highly recommended but make sure you have a reservation before you go!

We were so looking forward to our date night and my husband who rarely organizes everything planned this night for us. In all fairness he would’ve kicked his mole plate dry. However, I could not eat my fish tacos they were so bad - cold, tough and chewy. Service was appalling. Never was asked about why my plate wasn’t touched, never had my drink refilled. We felt like a complete after thought.

The food was not good. We would not go back ever again. The stuffed poblano had about 90% onions, and not much else. The salad with fish on top had cut up fish on it (in Hawaii where there is fresh fish, a fish fillet is appropriate especially for the price) Multiple things have been taken off of the menu Service was poor and rushed

Love tortilla republic, fell in love 3 years ago when the restaurant had the top and bottom to it, food and quality is what it’s always been( chips and salas is amazing with just the right amount of acid and the custom guacamole rounds out any meal. Their happy hour is not your average and has lots of premium items.

Server was more interested in the cat roaming around than serving customers. She forgot my beer, and blamed the bar. Then, she forgot my salad, and blamed the kitchen (it never did show up), and then she got my order wrong. With so many great places to eat nearby, I’d skip this spot due to the okay food and terrible service.

The service was wonderful. Hostess sate is right away with our reservations. Jo, our server was friendly and helpful. She did not blink an eye when one member of our party disliked the food and asked for something else. Maybe because we are from Texas and California we are spoiled with good Mexican food. The ambiance was wonderful and we we celebrating a birthday and they were very nice with churros.

We used to love this place but it has gone way downhill since it moved to the lower level. All I can say is that the food was gross and way over priced. I'm happy to pay good money for a good meal, but seriously this food was barely edible.

Service was very poor. Had to request that our waiter bring glasses for beer several times, had to ask waiter to bring other drinks several times. Noticed that waiter was more interested in talking with colleagues than looking after customers. Individual serving water was more interested in looking after table than waiter. Food was marginal for the price.

We’ve been coming to Tortilla Republic every time we visit Kauai—and the difference between our experience this year and last year was shocking. The menu has changed, and not for the better. We were curious why it had changed—and asked our waitress, she told us there was a new head chef and he completely “revamped” the menu. The food was unremarkable, which when you compare it to how delicious it used to be—makes it even worse. The portions were smaller (which truthfully would have been fine—we don’t need a massive portion of food) but the prices all stayed the same. The worst part, however, was the fact that all of us had the worst heartburn afterwards. Unfortunately, I doubt we will be making our yearly trek back to Tortilla Republic again.

The shrimp fajitas were delicious and although the portion looked small when it arrived, it was plenty of food. The flour tortillas were fresh and tasted homemade. The skinni margarita tasted anything but and was also delicious! We will definitely be back the next time we are on Kauai!!

Our server was good and the bus boy was attentive. The Tuesday's tacos were very tasty, but my wife and I had to get 3 orders to get enough to eat. And, our appetites aren't what they used to be.

Went based on a guidebook recommendation. Admittedly, we don't drink tequila and that's their main competency, but the food was not worth the visit. I had the spicy grilled shrimp tacos, and they were pathetic. My wife had the veggie quesadillas and could only manage one bite. Service was good, and our waitress noticed my wife's lack of interest in her food and graciously comped her part. Fun, lively atmosphere. Go there for a drink, but if you're looking for good Mexican, look elsewhere.

Limited menu. Chicken fajitas were good but dry. No Mexican rice with our meals. No queso available. Chile verde was amazing, tender and fantastic flavor. Tried several margaritas which were ok but too acidic - a little weak. Finally ordered straight tequila to sip.

Really good Mexicanfood. So many great gluten free offerings. Had an amazing glass of sangria (shot of tequila instead of brandy). Our server was very busy, so others picked up the slack for her.

I rarely write reviews but I feel the need to let others know how atrocious this restaurant is and why to steer clear. We've visited Kauai several times and have grown accustomed to pricey, less than exciting food (there are some gems!). But this experience was ridiculous. The service was below average. The food had little flavor and the taco meat was especially dry. We ordered the guacamole made to order but it was nothing like we ordered. I wish we had left the restaurant after 10 minutes of no one checking in to our table.

Came here last minute when we all got hungry one night. Had a really good margarita. The food was so so but satisfying. The waiter didn’t check on us much so I never got the 2nd margarita I was wanting but overall I would probably come again.
