The service and food is usually better, but not sure what happened tonight. We were celebrating our anniversary and I was unimpressed. I have been here a few times and craved (pregnancy craving) the short rib. It was not as good today. The food came out cold (although it was pretty empty inside), and I had to send it back. The waitress was not the most attentive and again there were not many patrons. There was zero acknowledgment of our anniversary. I was disappointed.

The salad, bronzino and duck were all delicious. And the server was top notch - attentive bit not hovering. I'll definitely be back.

Had an evening reservation for two . Walked into the dimly lit rooftop greeted by Baltimore skyline. Our waitress, Andrea, was very knowledgeable and we ordered most of her recommendations. We started with cocktails that were expertly made. Our shrimp appetizer was yummy sitting on a bed of polenta . For our main we enjoyed the short rib that fell off the bone with carrots that were perfectly cooked on top of freshly whipped mash. For the other dish we chose the duck breast which was the best preparation of duck I’ve eaten. (Order it medium and thank me later) The sauce accompanying the duck really knocked the dish out of the park. Went for another round of cocktails and ordered the ricotta appetizer to go . Also I must mention the proportion size which was a pleasant surprise. Great experience!

For a Tuesday we were surprised to see how crowded and loud it was. The wait staff did a good job of checking in and getting things to us in a timely manner. We had the Maryland gumbo which was very good. I started with a vodka martini which was not that great. Otherwise great meal. It was cloudy and rainy so views not quite as good as we’d hoped for. Would recommend

Our group of 6 had a great experience at Topside..food and drinks were very good. Sue was our server and she was excellent!! Lovely views of Mt. Vernon.

The menu offered a variety of options for any pallet. I order the chicken entree; the chicken breast was flavored well and it melted in my mouth. The service was great. However, I visited not only for the food, but also for the roof top dining. The roof top experience was not as expected. My party of four was seated in a booth with a very limited view. We could not see beyond the filthy windows. We asked to be moved to an empty table with a better view (the high top table) and were told that they were reserved for parties of six…very disappointing. If you want the roof top experience while dining, make sure you have a party of 2 or 6.

The foid and service is a bit hit and miss. Menu has nice variety of typical bistro type food and bar appetizers/to share boards. Well made martini and original cocktails. But watermelon gazpacho was bland, tasted like watered down plain old gazpacho. And meats and cheeses on charcuterie boards were not very tasty or interesting. Seems like they need a to step it up a bit more to be first rate. Also, views are spectacular-270 degrees of Baltimore.

This was my 2nd time dining at this restaurant and I was very excited, but unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The dish I ordered was no where close to what I had earlier this year. The size was around 30 - 35% smaller and was not well prepared at all. Thei view and cocktails were still amazing though.
