My wife and I had halibut with corn salad, cioppino, an alalone appetizer and bread pudding for dessert. Those were all great, my wife’s favorite meal she’s had. Our server, Gabby and her helper Nick were incredible. The best we have ever met. Thank you.

The server got our order wrong so one of guests had to wait quite a while for dinner to be served. It was awkward. It was not handled well. Our party was disappointed. No compensation offered by manager or waitress. We felt it most unusual.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Top of the Market in San Diego, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we noticed how beautiful and relaxing the setting was. The panoramic views of the water created a peaceful, romantic atmosphere that made for a perfect evening. The service was impeccable—truly some of the best we’ve experienced. Our waiter, Jonas, was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, especially when it came to navigating around my food intolerances. His care and attention made us feel genuinely taken care of. A special shoutout goes to Suzanne, the assistant manager, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. She even coordinated with the chef to prepare a special off-menu dish so we could try their signature scallops—and wow, what a treat! These scallops were some of the freshest we’ve ever tasted. We learned that the restaurant only purchases the last catch, which means they don’t need to use preservatives—and you can truly taste the difference. This thoughtful gesture felt like we had a personalized appetizer, which added such a delightful and elevated touch to our meal. Overall, the combination of breathtaking views, a relaxing atmosphere, exceptional service, and incredible food made for an unforgettable dining experience. We highly recommend Top of the Market to anyone looking for a special night out in San Diego. It's a true gem!

We come here every few years, whenever we are in San Diego, and have never been disappointed. The food and the service were excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. The fish was high quality and well prepared. We had a great table and we loved being able to watch the sun set over the harbor.

The food and environment is outstanding. And what is impressive is that the staff is of high integrity. I overpaid tips and the staff kindly indicated the problem and let me correct.

Great service. We were 20 minutes early for our reservation on a Monday night and they were able to accommodate us then already!

We love Top of the Market and have been many times. As we expected the food was excellent and while the prices are high we expected that and this is a place we go to splurge a bit. There were a couple of disappointments on this visit, however. We were seated in a small alcove which contained four tables. There were three in our party. When we were seated two of the other tables were already occupied and shortly after we were seated the fourth table was seated. That was a table for six but the staff squeezed in an extra chair and table setup. The alcove quickly become quite noisy. I believe this alcove is too small for four large tables. Also, while the service was attentive and friendly there were times things seemed to take a long time. A specific example - we ordered a dessert and two after-dinner drinks. The dessert arrived after a short wait but the drinks took a very long time. I don't know why it took the bar to prepare two pretty simple drinks.
