Tony's - St. Louis
Saturday: 5:00pm - 10:30pm (Business Casual)
The servers were attentive and accomodating, but not intrusive. All 6 meals were excellent, but the halibut was the hit of the night.
The food is excellent, but we had a 7:45 PM reservation and were not seated until 9 PM. By that time, I was on the phone trying to find another high-end restaurant that would still take us on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner. The wait was ridiculous. The manager explained that they allow 2 1/2 hours for each reservation and that people had finished but we’re not leaving their tables. Probably should be invited to l”retire to the bar” when they have other reservations waiting. Or perhaps Tony’s should adopt the two seatings practice of high-end restaurants in major international cities. Anyway, we will never go back on or Saturday night. For our excruciating wait, we were offered free dessert. Since we were going to get one for dessert for the birthday dinner anyway, that was minuscule. Back to the great food – – a special white asparagus appetizer with blue cheese, pasta with duck and mushrooms, veal chop — all delish. Pate appetizer disappointing texture and taste.
Awesome experience and great food! Great fine dining
St. Louis dining does not get better than this. Every meal is prepared with care and tastes incredible. The Service is by far the best I have received at any restaurant, even outside of STL. Our waiter Carlos does whatever he can to make the special occasions, truly special. I would recommend Tony's to any and everyone.
Best Restaurant in town! I haven’t been in a Italian restaurant with this quality of service and food before. The owner takes time to come to your table to say hello and good bye. Menu was with lot of options and all of them very good. Service was outstanding. It worth every penny!
We had a fantastic time, the service is FANTASTIC and they cook most dishes right at your table. VERY NICE!
Awesome service and amazing food. The staff is so attentive, our waiter was fantastic (sorry I forgot name.. he deserves shout out) and Vincent the owner makes an effort to greet every table when he is there. This is now our STL favorite restaurant.
This is a must stop if you are in St. Louis. The food, ambiance and service are first class and all of that is topped by the 87 year old owner, Vinnie, stopping by the table twice to ask us how everything is going. He has owned Tony's for 70 years and is the true example of how to run a business;stop by and say hello and thank your customers. I will definitely go back next time I am in the city
A review from me would not be fair; 40 years ago I worked there with Vince. This was, and is, a fantastic place; a great family, great people. Vince. Ken. Donny. Service is out of this world. Great menu. If you are visiting St. Louis, you have to "dine" with Vince at Tony's.
Thank you Vince for being the man I remember and enjoyed working with. Thank you Ken and Donny for remembering me. And thank you Bruce for taking care of my Big brother and me.
Tony’s never disappoints. Outstanding, friendly, attentive service. Spectacular food. Quiet for conversation with a feeling that no one will overhear.
Went here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. Took a while for us to get seated even with our reservation but it was well worth the wait and waiting in the bar was not a problem. The service is excellent and treated us great for our special occasion. Will recommend to friends and family.
The owner, the son of “Tony” cane by to visit with us a few times - great advice on the menu, and fun to learn some of the history of the restaurant. The food and wine were fabulous! It was “morels” season (I probably misspelled the name of the delicious mushroom) and the recommendation to try the dish did not disappoint! The scallops appetizer was delicious, as was the halibut special.
Tony's had the MOST delicious food, presented in a beautiful manner. The wine list was also excellent. If I ever return to St Louis, this restaurant will be on my list to revisit.
We had swordfish and veal chop with fettuccine with morels to start and they were all perfect
The warm chocolate torte was superb
This is the best restaurant in the middle of the country
We were told by friends that this was a "must visit" location and we are very glad we went! Indeed, it was not to be missed. It was truly an "experience"! The food and service was outstanding......as was the price! It was certainly overpriced but that's to be expected when paying for an experience.
Wonderful as usual!! The morel mushroom pasta with outstanding. Bruce our waiter is the best along with Ken to greet u. Also a shout out to the valet staff, best in the city. Vince, keep up the great job
Tony's is a St. Louis institution and this visit reminded us why. Food, service and ambiance are excellent. Just hoping it can survive the significant changes taking place with an emphasis on casual dining. This is fine dining at its best with prices to match. But worth it for special occasions or times when you feel like just "going out nice". They seem to be holding it together despite the loss of the man who had been running the room for the past 5 years, Vince Jr. His brother James just seems uncomfortable in this position and unfortunately Vince Sr. has lost his step in commanding the dining room. While this does not impact the enjoyment of the food and ambiance, for regulars it is a pretty big hole.
It was all that I expected. The service was great. The food was great!
I ordered tomato soup, fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, and an almond tart.
It tastes like any other fettuccine Alfredo that you can get from Olive Garden or Italian restaurant it was very underwhelming. Plus it made me feel sick right after. The soup was good, but nothing quiet hit the spot. The service was great, but without good food there isn’t really much of a restaurant. I have no idea why this place gets so much recognition, it’s just boujie and has original modern art on the walls.
Excellent food and service! Tony’s never disappoints!!
Wonderful as always. One of our most favorite restaurants in the world. Old school ambiance, old school service, exquisite cuisine. From the time Ken greets you at the front, and escorts you to your table, you are in for a wonderful dining experience. This evening we shared the seared scallop appetizer with a beure blanc sauce. Yum. The lobster albenello is always my favorite, and did not disappoint. Great wine list as well. Our "go to " spot in St. Louis for a romantic evening. No visit is complete without a visit by Mr. Bommarito himself.
This is "old school" done well.
Tony's is a venerable institution in St. Louis (according to Vincent, the gentlemen who stopped by our table, Tony's has been in business for 90 years). Immecable service. Ambience will seem slightly dated to some; comfortably quaint to others. Everything we ordered was prepped perfectly. Note that this is not a place where you'll find a lot of vegetarian / vegan options (there are a few) and the menu palate is like going back to 1975. No complaints about that - this is "upscale comfort food" brilliantly executed. Just don't go expecting nouvelle cuisine. Wine list is fairly short for a high-end restaurant - perhaps 60-ish choices - and leans to very expensive bottles. But, there are a number of very good choices in the $45-80 range. After two courses we were stuffed and didn't have dessert, but the choices were tempting.
Tony's is still one of the best in St. Louis. We arrived early but our table was ready in less than a few minutes. Our table captain was Alan and he was terrific. I had not been to Tony's for many years and my wife had never been there, Service and food were just great. She opted for the signature Lobster Avallino(?sp). It was excellent. I had the fish special, Grilled Halibut. A beautiful piece of fish prepared perfectly. Will not wait so many years to go back. Thank you Tony's for a wonderful evening.
Classic old school restaurant where service still matters. From the moment we walked into Tony's, everyone was super attentive to our needs. From the table side preparation of our salads to the main entry, nothing was missed. Even Tony himself came around and introduced himself, thanked us for coming and wanted to make sure everything was outstanding. Do not miss this gem!
Excellent food and great service very enjoyable evening with good friends...
went to Tony's for anniversary 44th was the same place as when I went there for my 25th
Delicious Food great Service and free parking, Vincent came to my table and was charming.
Best value in food in St.Louis, pretty much the same food as 1999 but that's a good thing!
Professional and friendly staff complimented the wonderful menu and exceptional service. We appreciated the cordial visit of Mr. Bommarito, and his genuine concern for our dining experience.
Vince Bommarito's "Tony's" has been a decades long "GEM" of St. Louis! I have been going since a young teenager and now I entertain clients, friends and my wife for special occasions! Once again last week a table for 8 was perfect, food magical in taste and quality! Vince came out and greeted us personally! A perfect dining experience. Thanks for making it special.
We have dined at Tony's many times and have never been disappointed by either the food or the service. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is always excellent!! Vince Sr., Vince Jr., and James Bommarito, along with the entire staff makes you feel so welcomed from the time you arrive until your evening is finished!
As always, it was top notch in every way. From the time you get there to the time you leave it is first class.
Great!!! Actually better than great!!! Everyone should have this experience.
25th Anniversary. They made our experience very special.
The restaurant was tastefully done. Tables were spaced out for privacy. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious! The wine list was not overwhelming with fine selections of Italian, French and American wines. A great vale overall!
Has maintained it's quality for many years. Everyone should experience dinner at Tony's!
Always superb service and incredible food. Wanted to order everything and really enjoyed the scampi. Dinner was perfect.
Great experience, service, food, drink and ambiance.
Anniversary with family! Was an enjoyable evening!
My daughter turned 21 and I wanted to treat her with the very best. So, I chose Tony's. She will never forget Tony's and Mr. Bommarito.
Absolutely perfect evening! Everyone wished I'd happy anniversary and took care of us all night... wonderful way to celebrate!
The linguine with Lobster & Shrimp was perfect, the Sea Scallops were outstanding and the Lemon Ricotta Torte was delicious. The service was excellent as it always is. It was a great Anniversary dinner. My wife enjoyed her dinner as much as I enjoyed mine. We were both amazed by the size of the Creme Bruele, it was huge and fantastic.
