Tony's, a St. Louis landmark and nationally acclaimed restaurant, has featured award-winning food, service, and ambiance for more than 40 years. Recognized year after year with the AAA Four-Diamond Award and the Forbes (formerly Mobil) Four-Star Award, among others, executive chef Vincent P. Bommarito creates a signature menu. From lobster albanello to a veal loin chop with truffle sauce, from filet mignon of swordfish to a luxurious tasting menu, all dishes are finished tableside. Tony's complements each meal with a medal-winning wine collection and decadent house-made desserts. Servers, many with Tony's for decades, anticipate guests' needs to create an extraordinary dining experience. Every guest is treated to the gracious hospitality one would receive walking into the Bommarito family's home. Generations of families celebrate special events at Tony's; business and leisure travelers make sure to include dinner at Tony's in their visit.

The food was amazing. We had the duck confit fettuccini and seared scallops for starters. The scallops were perfectly cooked. The duck fettuccini was delicious. Main courses were the veal Milanese and halibut special on spinach with capers. Both were just excellent. The highlight of the night was the lemon ricotta cheesecake. It was light, just the right amount of sweetness and oh so lemony.

Food was world class. Server and staff was outstanding. Vince was present and very friendly. Facility could use a sprucing up. Host was less than cordial...unfortunately.

First time here. VERY nice. All staff made us feel special and important. It’s not something we would ever do for ourselves strictly because of the cost but it was a gift to us. A perfect gift for sure

Great dinner. Only negative was that they did not receive our Open Table reservation. They sat us after a 15 minute wait. We appreciate that they sat us instead of turning us away. Fantastic dinner. We tried the tasting menu and it was amazing.

Food and service were excellent. The tables are too close without separation for an intimate, romantic setting. Tony’s salad and bread were average to mediocre. The complimentary birthday dessert was not very good and considering the amount spent, we should have had a dessert from the menu.

This was my first visit to Tony’s, a restaurant I had heard about all my life. We were the first guests of the evening and were warmly greeted by a group of employees. The decor felt retro - circa 1970’s and in need of an update, in my opinion. Service was impeccable - friendly rather than snooty, as I had expected; attentive, but not distractive. We shared the mushroom pasta dish, which was excellent. I had the veal trio, which was prepared perfectly, with 3 different sauces. My friend had the salmon which she enjoyed. Even the bread was memorable. Yes, it was pricey, but it was as much of an experience, as it was a meal.

Tony's is still great. The menu doesn't change much year to year, and the room might need a little updating, but it's still reliable for a pleasant, special evening.

The food and service was great. The dress code has gone drastically casual over the year. Value? Uhhh, it's expensive. The decor is definitely outdated. We did have fun though and our servers were a joy!

Tony’s has been a tradition as our go to fine dinning experience in St Louis for many years. The modern elegant dinning room with high end classic touches is simply beautiful. The attentive French table service is done with glaur and at a high level that is seldom seen in any city today. The food is top rate classic gourmet using the finest ingredients often locally sourced from specialty boutique farms. The charming owner makes a point of welcoming guests as a welcome friends and makes sure every detail is perfect. A treasure that I highly recommend.

Had a memorable New Years eve dinner here. Bruce was a spectacular waiter. Very professional. Pacing on the meal was good. Never felt rushed. $35 corkage fee but they allow you to bring your own wine. Everything cooked perfectly. Lobster, veal, filet with Foi Gras all perfect.

Make sure you ask for anything special off the menu as they have some extra specials or will put something together for you.

Will go again when we visit St. Louis again.

My wife's family has a long history of going to Tonys albeit its been a couple years, they are a native Saint Louis family. I on the other hand come from Chicago and naturally have been exposed to superb Italian food. While I found the environment to be upscale, I was very surprised to find people wearing things like jeans and plain shirts. That attire in a family restaurant is completely acceptable, an establishment with this reputation, not appropriate. The service was great but a 2.5hour experience for a couple is a pretty long and found the gaps to be agitating. My appetizer was wonderful but my main course was fair at best. I dont complain much about price but $40 for dry breaded veal is a bit much. It's not that I would not go back to Tonys, but it would be at the request of someone else. **I did VERY MUCH appreciate the acknowledgement of our Anniversary, that was a really nice touch so bravo on service!

As has been the case for every meal we have had the delight of enjoying at Tony's for over 50 years, this was no exception - gracious welcome by the maitre d' followed by courteous and efficient waiters/servers delivering fabulous cuisine and a "good pour" of wine (we order by the glass since I like reds and Judy likes white). Missed seeing Vince who we are told still comes in for a while almost daily - that's why it remains the incredible gem it has been for decades.

We have been going to Tony's for years especially on special occasions. I always get my absolute favorite dish, the Lobster Albanello, an exquisite dish with the best sauce in the world. So it pains me, terribly, to say this, but this time the sauce was not like it used to be, it was flavorless, bland, not that rich sauce I have eaten so many times. I don't know why it is different or what is missing, but the disappointment I felt was really discouraging. I hope the chef will take this information and get back to the original sauce.

We had 7:15 reservations and arrived at 7:20. We were told that it would be “a while” and to head over to Anthony’s down the hall for a drink. At 7:50 my wife was returning from the restroom when the woman at the front told her to “go get your family and come now”. So she came and got us at the bar and when we came up to the front a man rudely said they were not ready and it would be a while. I said we were just told to come up and he argued that they were not ready to seat us and they had been in business 70 years and knew what they were doing. He was very rude and not at all apologetic for being 45 minutes late. After five more minutes we were seated and had a delicious meal but all of us agreed we would not be back for a long time. It sort of ruined the whole evening for us. Prices are very high so expect at least to be treated well. Maybe they were so late because we made our reservations on open table because they seated a group with 7:30 reservations before us. There are lots of other great options in St. Louis. Tony’s is past its prime.

While this is nowhere close to my first review of Tony's, this iconic St. Louis restaurant is still one of the best in our city. No one else provides the level of service as they do with attentive waiters and owners who make each guest feel welcome.

I always order the same items and each time I am reminded how perfectly they prepare them. The smoked salmon with mascarpone makes a perfect appetizer for me. My wife and I split the Tony's salad, which is simple, but somehow is better than similar salads served elsewhere. It must be the superior ingredients. I had the sliced sirloin with peppercorn sauce and it was expertly prepared and seasoned. The meat was clearly prime. My wife had the snapper, which was a special for the night and she too was thrilled with her entree. The arancini is a specialty side dish available at Tony's that I highly recommend. This fried rice ball is filled with an Italian meat that is flavorful and different than side dishes found in other restaurants.

We finished with the caramel ice cream pie, which is like none other. It is like a lemon meringue pie with home made vanilla ice cream substituted for the lemon and then it is covered in a thick, rich caramel sauce. The meringue is three inches high and my favorite part.

Tony's used to be the most expensive restaurant in St. Louis by far. People still think that is the case, but it is not. While you should expect to spend $200 per couple with drinks and tip, there are more than 10 other area restaurants where this is the case and none is at the level of Tony's when combining food, service and atmosphere.

As always all you can say is Tony’s is off the chart The food is an excellent today as it was 30 years ago on our first visit. All remains superb. Having the patriarch of the family still visiting guest tables is still a special touch. If you have not been there lately or have never been there you must try it. It certainly is not inexpensive but worth every cent.
