Really good food and cute for a date night !! Our server was great !
We were so excited to try this place! The food was incredible! Absolutely delicious. We were disappointed with the service. The wine that we ordered wasn't on the menu and it was still brought to the table. After showing some confusion, it was explained that the wine list wasn't updated. But it was still not the wine we ordered if we ordered from the menu. The confusion was disappointing. We drank it anyways. After our bill was paid, we still have some drinks to finish and were told that there was a group waiting for our table and we were being asked to leave. Pretty disappointing when we were there to celebrate a birthday but we left. It just left a sour taste in our mouth. The food was delicious though! You could tell it was home made!
Amazing calamari and great pasta dishes. Lobster ravioli was incredible, and the vodka sauce was perfect. Couldn’t ask for a better place for eating out with friends! The dining room was cute and quaint, great ambiance.
It was like being at Nona's house for dinner. Old style decor adds to the ambiance and great food with large portions made it complete. Will definitely be going back!
Food was delicious and really fairly priced. It is super cozy inside!
Excellent Italian food in a great intimate restaurant. I go annually after PAX East with out of town friends and also occasionally with coworkers from mid-Massachusetts. It's a fantastic atmosphere, great service, great food!
Wonderful hole-in-the-wall where the food was fantastic, the ambiance was vintage and the service was terrific!
Loved it! Probably the best red sauce new Italian restaurant in the area.
Lovely place, old skool Italian ambiance, great service. Portions good quality but far too large- maybe buy as sharing plates
Great food and great service!
Food was good. Service attentive but not pushy. Nice ambiance although the tables were closer together than I'm used to seeing...
i love when a place does not try to be everything for everybody, do one thing really good, simple Red sauce Italian, done really well. small Menu, everybody know everything on the Menu, Old School North End. we will be back!
I can’t speak highly enough about Tony and Elaine’s! They were so accommodating to our large party and the food/service was wonderful. I will definitely be going back!
Everything from food to service to atmosphere was outstanding. Four of us went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and had the best meals.
Amazing meal made better by the service. Ask the server for their favorite dish and you won’t be disappointed!
The server was uninterested in us and the food was overpriced and on par with something from a jar from the grocery store.
We sat downstairs. House salad just super fresh with delicious house dressing. The meatballs were terrific. My wife’s eggplant Parmesan was very good and the portion size was huge. Overall excellent dinner out.
Food exceeded our expectations. And service was great. Meatballs were better than my own!
Good experience. Good food!
Only complaint was the rock music playing.....would just have preferred something a little more subtle.
Great experience all around. We showed up 30 minutes later than our reservation because I took a wrong turn driving into Boston. Due to our late arrival, we only had 30 minutes before we had to depart as we had plans to attend a Celtics game afterwards. The staff was very accommodating and understanding. The service was efficient, staff very friendly and the food was great. Look forward to the next visit, but next time with more time to enjoy the ambience.
Entree was great and tasty and a very good portion - the appetizer of meatballs were rather cold - the bread would also have better warmed
Date night before C’s
We had exceptional service during our dinner. The waitress was knowledgeable , explained the menu and any questions (had gluten allergy guest) and concerns. One thing that is just a pet peeve of mine is plastic table cloths, just not my thing. Restaurant and bathrooms were clean , would definitely come back.
I've been to most restaurants in the north end after having lived here for multiple years and i was really pleasantly surprised by this place. Excellent food in a friendly and laid back atmosphere.
Ambiance was so well done and the background music was eclectic and unique. My fellow diner and I loved all that we ordered. Only minor issue is that there weren’t more gluten free options and my friend has an allergy. Other than that, we were very pleased with everything we ordered (caprese with dreamy, creamy burrata, rigatoni ala vodka and bolognese with gluten free penne)
i found your waitress very friendly and warm toward us . enjoyed it will go again only problem was for hp plus parking
Loved this restaurant amazing food and really nice employees.
Tony and Elaine’s was fantastic. Perfect for classic Italian-American food, vintage vibes and music to fit. Our server was amazing. Im terrible at understanding wine but he allowed me to taste and I found the perfect one for me (which is typically not a match!). The red sauce was delicious and one of the best I’ve had in the North End (we live in the neighborhood and have tried many). My boyfriend and I were celebrating our 4 year anniversary on our first dinner there and they provided champagne and note which was incredibly sweet. It was memorable and I will certainly be back. It’s a great spot for a date or a casual dinner with friends.
Came here before the Celtics game. Split the meatballs and mozzarella sticks and then he had the orecchiette and I had the bolognese. Everything was excellent. The bread left something to be desired, it was cold and would have been better room temp or warm. Service was solid. Also really enjoyed the super Tuscan by the glass - much better than your average by the glass wine!
House salad was a large amount easily shareable by 2 or 3, fresh crisp and delicious dressing. Appetizer calamari with spicy green peppers was tangy and dipping sauce was delicious and also a copious serving. Wine was good value; we had the Tuscan red , 2 glasses each. Service was stellar and very accommodating. The veal oarmagiana entree was also large. And more than enough for 2, but was a little overcooked and coating had hardened a bit, probably we contributed some by asking server to hold the entree till we had finished earlier courses.
Although the food was ok, unfortunately we felt very rushed. I don’t mind that the food came out quickly. Our meal was tasty. But our server was distracted, unfriendly and trying to clear the table and drop the check before we were done with our meal. We had wanted to enjoy what was left of our bottle of wine. The server didn’t ask how things were or ask about dessert. (They did the same thing to the table next to us as well...) The server came for payment before I even had a chance to look at the bill. It’s a shame since we were looking forward to a nice relaxing experience. Not at all the case.
I had some friends visiting from RI for a Celtics game and decided to check our this spot since it was fairly close to TD. I was a little put off by how quick the waitress was to push us out the door. She didn’t even ask if we wanted desert, just took our plates and gave us the check. Overall the food was decent, and I enjoyed the small restaurant vibe.
Limited menu, but what they do offer is delicious. Tables very close together, which doesn’t allow for a lot of privacy, but that is also common for any North end restaurants.
Great food, quick service and cute decorations!
New Italian with throwback feel. Limited but good menu. Will definitely go back.
Great place for pre garden events!
We had a great time, great service and amazing food.
My only issue was food came out fast, and I like my meals to have more time to socialize.
But I’m dying to go back.
Place is very nice. And the service is excellent. The pasta with meatballs tasted like it came out of a can. Dull, soggy, overcooked. The house salad was iceberg lettuce with 2 croutons like you’d get in a super market salad bar. The ‘home made” dressing was worse than bottled French. Sorry. I really wanted to like the place. Server was great.
Tony & Elaine's was everything I hoped it would be. The ambience is perfect- checkered tablecloths, Ferrari posters, bottles of chianti everywhere. It feels like you walked into your Italian relative's home. The food was so delicious and fairly priced (loved the homemade mozzarella sticks and bolognese). They even brought out a plate of cannolis with a candle for a birthday in our group. They have both upstairs and downstairs dining areas, so we had no problem fitting our group of 7. The server was efficient and nice, even with our large, slightly rambunctious group. Highly recommend!
