Situated in the heart of Somerset House WC2R, located off the Strand, Tom's Kitchen Somerset House Brasserie opened its doors on the 1st September 2010. In partnership with Compass Group UK & Ireland, Tom Aikens' new restaurant (replacing The Admiralty Restaurant) will feature the same familiar and comforting dishes as Tom's Kitchen Chelsea serving lunch (Mon-Fri)and dinner (Mon-Sat), and brunch on weekends and bank holidays only. Featuring everything from the best breakfast in London (as voted for by Time Out) and classic British fish and chips to one of Tom Aikens' more signature dishes, the 7 hour braised shoulder of lamb - all of which are long-standing favorites with locals and regulars.

Please note that Tom's Kitchen Terrace does not take any reservations for parties of less than 10 people. If you would like to make a reservation of 10 or above please email

    Great food, the fillet steak was great, but even better teamed with the truffle chips! Good wine list too.

    Front of house staff was awful and didn't seem like he wanted to be there but Wait staff were good. I've been a fan of Tom's Kitchen for a long time but this was a disastrous visit. We won't be back to this venue.

    The service was mixed, one person good the otheer rubbish. The food was fab, the view from the window table was great. We'll go again although a tad expensive, so not your everyday eaterie.

    While the staff were all very pleasant, we felt that the service was quite slow and that the food, although good, was overpriced.

    A great recommendation from a friend - came for lunch with my daughter. Great menu - we started with the charcuterie platter and had a fabulous bottle of Malbec. LOVED the presentation of the bill!

    Great service, good was so good! Although I do feel this is slightly overpriced, however, we did have a really lovely evening.

    relaxed, and good service, fun cocktails, no rush to get you through your lunch, liked the way food was served and plenty of water available wine list good and reasonable food was good, had to send something back as not cooked as requested but this was sorted very quickly a great venue definitely recommend for a nice lunch in town.

    Everything was just about right, but we were rather surprised not to be offered a lunch menu, just the brunch. However we saw items we liked on the brunch menu and ordered without comment. Service was very good, but this time we did get "hovered" over a bit. Last time, a Sunday, the waiter was at the end of the room not staring at us, but immediately with us when we signalled. He was entertaining and informative when required. This is ideal, and it's worth extra training if necessary to attain this perfection of service!! All in all, a very happy occasion for relatives to meet up, made even more comfortable by the lovely staff of Somerset House in the adjacent lounge. Toilets never seem to function fully or properly, but that is not I would think, the main concern of Tom's. They are the only area in which Somerset House lets them down.
