We love Tokio Pub but we dont go as much as we would like to because we are a family of 5 and don't get enough food for the money. My husband and I may go on a date night or special occasion which is sad because my kids love the food as well. Ex. They love hot rocks and for the amount you pay to only get a few thin slices of meat or fish we typically buy 3 or 4 and that adds up.
Charges for cobid??? Why.. 4%..and changed items we used to get. Not great at all
Good was great, the hostess ended up being our waitress and she did good considering.
I miss the old menu. I would probably not come back till they fix it.
I made reservation for outside seating but they really did not reserve table,
I asked them that we can wait and text me when tabke gets free,
They never texted,
We ended up dining at a different restaurant.
Perfect place to sit out and eat!
Great service and good food!
Our server was fantastic!
Celebrated my bro’s bday there. Pauly was the best server, so amiable, funny & attentive! He accommodated our dietary restrictions so well, even allowing us to order from Shaw’s next door. The Shaw’s manager came out to explain some of the food portions & again to help make sure the orders came out properly & we had everything we needed. We would definitely come back again!
Excellent very basic menu. I recommend the hot rocks and the Peach sangria. Great for sharing food. I brought my mom who is still nervous about sushi so letting her try a few different things worked out well.
The Hot Rock was a fun way to cook a steak! The sushi and pot stickers were good too.
Food was good. Unfortunately, the service was not as good as previous visits. I
Great place, our server was friendly and knew his stuff. Clean place, liked how our temp was taken before entering and all staff were wearing masks.
Service was spectacular and top-notch. Food was ok... Nothing special.
It was unfortunate the tacos were not available, but the food we ordered was still great!
I was pretty surprised at how minimal the menu was, and my steamed wow bow buns were room temperature at best. I don’t know definitely not a usual lettuce entertain you experience that’s for sure we literally left there trying to figure out where we were actually going to go now eat.
So nice to be back at Tokio Pub!! Service and food was outstanding!
Very good local restaurant that we repeatedly go to for a good time
Thank you for great service before the lock out. Hope you all stay healthy and see you as soon as you open back up
We went in for Northwest Suburbs restaurant week and really enjoyed the food! The sushi was great, beautifully plated. We also enjoyed the crunchy salad and miso soup. The restaurant itself is small, so I feel like it could get loud on weekends. Overall, nice place and a great location
Consistently good food!
Was good and fun take to Japanese culture, just wish was a more authentic vibe!
Caroline was exceptional! We truly appreciated her service!
We have been her many times and she was the best by far! Especially considering we were celebrating an anniversary for our aunt and uncle who are very picky. She was awesome and very understanding.
Best service by far when previously we were disappointed.
Coconut cake was outstanding!
Thank you very much for great service!
Happy hour was good. Solid restaurant
Red curry chicken was too salty, probably to cover the lack of taste and the Sauvignon Blanc wine I had ordered was not good at all.
Service was OK but I was not impressed by the décor. Screaming babies made the experience even less agreeable.
Frankly I expected a bit more menu item options. Very limited choices. I am not planning on another visit.
Even though during the booking I mentioned Birthday celebration, there was nothing done from the restaurant....like a cake slice or ice cream. Was a bit disappointed.
Food was very good. Service was lacking. Restaurant was small but the same person was waiting tables, making drinks and seating customers. Everything took way longer than expected
Awesome. Will be back.
I have visited Tokio on a couple of occasions. The last visit on last Saturday, wasn't that good. Service was just ok, but the food was not good at all. The sushi had large chunks of cucumber, and small portions of fish. (Spicy tuna). The fish and the shrimp tacos were bland and the pork belly in the ramen was tough and chewy, tasted old. So for those reasons, I'll pass from now on, on this place.
We spent $70 basically ordering off the happi hour menu. Can't imagine how much it would have been full price. Sat by the door, cold draft everytime people came in. They have some nice presentation factors, the hot rock to cook meat. The tots were weird for the menu, and they were cold. Cucumber was way too much for the salmon crunch roll. Our waiter was great. The ambiance is nice (other than the draft) and music was ecclectic. Went for food, so we will not return. Disappointing.
This place is always pushing the boundaries of multi cultural mixed infusion . It’s always an experience when you go . It’s not your normal Asian cuisine at all , it’s takes it to a whole new level . Take for example the hot rock and you cook your own meat or fish on it . What an experience and always amazing
Told us they were booked and couldn’t take us.
Great meal! Service was awesome. Thanks Paulie and BenG
I visited during restaurant week. I don't recommend it. I typically enjoy the food and ambiance here. However, this was a generally unsatisfying visit. Below average service on a very busy night. Food that looked and tasted like less care had been shown. It seemed like it sat under a heat lamp too long. Every course was missing a utensil or a plate or soy sauce or chopsticks or something. And the wait for a server to fix the issues were long. I did not feel like a valued customer.
Now, I have been here several times previously. And I would recommend the restaurant. Just not during restaurant week.
Family date night ! My kids love sushi and they love this place.
We went during Chicago restaurant week, and did the special dinner menu. The flavors were fantastic and the portions were generous. Would definitely go back again.
Sushi was fantastic and the drinks were great. Highly recommend the Maki Combo dinner and the Zen Garden drink. Delicious!
This has been our Favorite “Go to” restaurant for 8yrs. It has been slowly going downhill.
Our last visit was probably the worst visit to date. Almost everything arrived before our sons chicken fingers. I say almost everything because a roll was dropped on the floor. We sat in the bar area, I ordered a Bar only drink special wine and was given the wine off the regular menu. The taste of the food was not what we were used to. Something has changed, we couldn’t put our finger on it, but something is different.
Great food and music
