Perfect wine list and amazing for with lots of depth to their menu selections.
Old owners, new owners, same great variety in its menu, a hidden gem on the Indianapolis restaurant scene.
Food and service was amazing. Everything we tried was perfect.
This was my second visit and the pork belly definitely on point. Could use some bread or something on the table, some dishes are very rich and could use bread. Servers very knowledgeable and friendly. A lot of new construction in the area not a great view right now but maybe in the future. Portions could be bigger for the prices. Overall great little place.
So Tinker was a favorite of ours since they had first opened. Using clean foods, private farms and lovely selection of wines too, the complex yet tasty menu and welcoming venue was fun!
However this experience didn’t start out well. This reservation was for a progressive birthday dinner for our very close friends and a party of 6....Side note, my husband and I did have dinner two weeks before our reservation to be sure the table we asked for was on our reservation. The road is loud and I didn’t want to be next to the sidewalk. So ...We arrived 10 minutes early, we drive an hour from Lafayette...They seated us opposite of where I had reserved, seating the 6 of us next to the road and sidewalk. That was upsetting. The overhead fan was on full speed, our hair and menus were blowing away. I had asked the Maître d’ when being seated to turn it off . She said she would but I waited meanwhile the guest of honor had to put her jacket on. Then I asked our server to turn it off, she said she would wait for the Maître d’ to do it, still didn’t happen. Then after the third time I was done and upset. My husband had to go to the hostess to ask a 4th time. Finally it’s off. My fear also was rain, sitting next to the outer part of the patio I was not good with it raining And it rained of course and became colder and windy. Food was good, but comfort is always key in a long dinner, introducing my friends to Tinker was a let down.
Didn’t feel valued at all, especially after my husband and I made sure we came earlier for dinner to arrange our next outing and it was still a disappointing. We spend $$$ on these dinners, I didn’t feel like we had in the past times there. Staff wasn’t attentive, not like it had been before they reopened.
It was amazing!!!
Unique, tiny restaurant nestled in a cool downtown neighborhood. Love the vibe. The food is always delicious and surprising.
The food was good , the drinks were good, The wait staff were good. In the middle of our service our waitress informed us we were getting a different waiter. Great place.
This may be my new favorite restaurant. The flavors and creativity of food were incredible! The menu is fabulous, wine pairings were perfect, the staff was wonderfully helpful and accommodating. It was a fantastic dining and date experience!!
really liked the location/ambience. all the food was great but in my opinion the Korean chicken and waffles was the star. had two great cocktails. one made with wine and gin (can't remember name) and the other was a really good martini. Chef came around to tables which was nice.
Tinker Street is currently our favorite. The food and staff are awesome everytime
I love this restaurant. The menu is intriguing and always has vegan selections for us. Great wines but a bit high priced. Servers are involved and interested in us as customers. This is a must visit restaurant for us - usually at least once per month. Enjoy.
Went to Tinker Street for the first time over Memorial Day weekend and was very impressed!! The menu was very diverse and had lots of of options for everyone. We had three different small plates that were all yummy. The agnolotti could easily satisfy someone as a main course. Standouts for mains were the shrimp and grits and pork belly. We`ll definitely be back!!
The restaurant staff were kind and attentive. We went for a birthday dinner and they wished us happy birthday several times. The food was delicious and unique. The rockfish was especially good. We definitely plan to return for any special occasion.
Tinker Street Restaurant is located in an eclectic urban residential neighborhood, where older traditional and newer contemporary homes sit side by side. The restaurant’s ambiance has a trendy feel that fits right in with the neighborhood. The atmosphere is energetic, and the wait staff attentive and continually on the move. My wife and I dined over the Memorial Day weekend and the Indianapolis 500 race, so expect that the restaurant was filled with visitors (like us) as well as locals. We began with an Aperol spritz, a cocktail popular in Italy. I ordered the duck breast, cooked to the suggested medium rare, that was very good, and my wife ordered rockfish that she also enjoyed. There was a glitch with our wine order that initially vexed us, but the restaurant went above and beyond what we expected to our complete satisfaction. For dessert, we split an individual banana cream pie served with bruléed bananas that we enjoyed very much.
Wonderful culinary surprises like the carrot risotto. Great vibe and friendly staff
Phenomenal, food,staff, everything!
Food was average for what we paid for. Duck and whitefish were overcooked and too salty. Felt like the kitchen was having an off night. Tables were close together and we kept being bumped by other customers. We heard good things about this restaurant and it honestly did not live up to the hype. Definitely a lot better options in Indy to try and eat upscale food. Wont be back.
Best restaurant in Indianapolis! Staff is inviting. Food is creative and amazing. Simple elegance that is one of a kind. Thank you!
Wonderful evening celebrating my friend's 40th bday - chicken & waffles were fresh, hot, and just the right spiciness and the hand-ground sirloin burger with homemade chips were perfect for sharing. The doughnuts were heavenly! I always feel welcome and at home at TS! Thank you, Team Tinker Street.
I thought most of the dishes were under seasoned. Finishing salt is a beautiful thing. Service was attentive. Hostess was warm and welcoming. Tables outside were way too close. I was bumped the entire meal by people passing by. That was my biggest complaint.
Always. Great meal. Unique & fun dishes along with impeccable service. Took a friend for the 1st time and made a new fan!
Very pleasant staff. Seated on time. Pacing was good. Food excellent. Too loud as it filled up. Would definitely go back
Such an unexpected, unique dining experience! The food is unlike any other restaurant fare. Delicious, clean and locally sourced. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Our server was the best we have ever experienced. We have eaten here three times and every time was exceptional.
Staff was friendly. Menu looked good. Best option was the salad. Mushroom bruschetta was soggy. Main meals overly “heat” spiced. Desserts were pretty but did not taste good. $11 drink was about the size of 3 shot glasses...if that.
It was the best food I’ve had in a long time. Every single thing we ordered was amazing. It seemed like We had about 5 people checking our water and making sure we were ok. Our waitress was amazing as well. She offered great suggestions & service. I can’t wait to go back!
We were staying on 16th St for the night and I asked my sister for a recommendation as she is familiar with downtown restaurants. She said she thought we would enjoy Tinker Street so I was thrilled that I was able to make a reservation for our party of 4 online. Got an email confirmation and also a phone call. We were seated in the covered outdoor area and it was a bit cool but the gas heaters made us comfortable. We enjoyed the tater tots and caviar appetizers - yummy sauce! The shrimp and grits were also tasty and I was happy to find a Muscadet on the wine menu! I would return for more of the innovative menu selections and the attentive service.
Our new favorite spot!
This was our second time to dine at Tinker Street and very much enjoyed it. We are happy that we can get reservations as we were going to the Symphony after dinner. Keep up the good work! It is a fun place to have dinner!
Tinker street is by far and away my favorite place to eat out. All of the entrees have been pleasant to divine especially the shrinp and grit, skate etc. I decided to try the paella this time around. The gnocchi was relatively tastless though the small morsels of chicken were ok. Back to the standard protocol next time. All other diners in a party of five(first timers) were extremely happy with rockfish and steak trotter, and risotto.
The staff/service was incredible. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Outstanding food and service. Waitress really knew the menu. Loved it!
The Tuesday special is an unbeatable value for some the best food you will ever have!
Amazing food! A wonderful place to celebrate events... we went for graduation dinner.
Always a perfect choice & the oysters never cease to amaze!
Solid food with great options for everyone. The service we had was top notch.
Overall, disappointing. Food was okay, truly nothing blew me away.
Excellent food and service. Seating a little tight. But overall excellent and highly recommended
Great choice. Unique rotating menu with good quality food options
Service was prompt and excellent. Great advice on wine, wait staff was prompt and helpful. I would highly recommend. Fantastic experience
