The dinner menu changes seasonally to capture the flavors of fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options are abundant–and clearly marked on the menu. Tinker Street, which serves guests 21 and older, has array of wine offerings be it red, white, sparking and everything in between.
Our favorite dinner spot in Indy! Love the champagne greeting & the food:)
In town for a conference and wanted to get out of downtown and into a neighborhood. We made the perfect choice with Tinker Street. The staff was warm and knowledgeable about the menu. The wine list has something for everyone, from a nice glass to a splurge bottle. Our dinners were exceptional. The Valentine gnocchi/paella plate was creative and delicious and the shrimp and grits perfect. We picked the fried Brussels sprouts at the suggestion of our server and he was right.
Everything was fantastic! Food, service, environment all great. We had the scallions and the pork belly. Tinker Street is one of the best restaurants in Indy!!!
This is the third or fourth time I've been there. Every time is a treat! I've even brought friends there who IMMENSELY enjoyed the unique twists they put on things. What a special place.
The staff was very attentive without being intrusive. Just the right balance. It was clearly a comfortable, well- balanced service.
The food was excellent. We had very nicely presented crab cakes as a starter. They were very tasty and just the right size for a starter.
I had the shrimp and grits which is their signature entree. Great taste with just the right spiciness.
My wife had the baked raclette and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Brandon Kellner's touch is evident. Well done!
Not up to the usual (admittedly high) standards - went early and maybe the kitchen hadn’t gotten into a groove? Burnt out from a hectic Valentines? Everything (except the raw oysters ;-) seemed a little over done. Brussels sprouts were mostly leaves...beef bourguignon was dry (made ahead and then sauced?) and skate wing almost blackened...still tasty but the vegetables it came with kind of charred.
Been to Tinker quite a bit and it’s still a neighborhood favorite, but it kinda seems to be slipping...too bad if so...will give it another shot sometime soon and report back.
What a great meal! Service, ambiance, and food was 100% from start to finish. Josh gave us superb service....attentive, informative, friendly, and thorough. This place is a must for anyone who wants an excellent experience.
Everything was excellent, from the greeting we received to the service and wonderful food! Highly recommend!
The food is absolutely incredible. Service is always great. Can’t wait to dine there again
Tinker Street never disappoints. The menu is always creative and the food is absolutely delicious. The service is 5 star.
We loved every minute and every bite! The bubbly beginning is such a nice little touch. The grapefruit salad was SO good and different from any other salad we've had. I had the shrimp and grits, SO MUCH FLAVOR...wow! My husband had the beef bourguignon and he loved it as well. And then, omgosh...we don't normally do dessert, but we went here as our early Valentine's Day dinner and splurged a little. We had the ricotta doughnuts...nom nom nom :-) It was just a delightful experience all the way around. Yummy and fun, what more can you ask for?!
My wife and I had dinner on Saturday evening, 2/9. She had the scallops and I had the shrimp and grits. Both were excellent. We also had the soup and brussel sprouts. Yummy. Good stuff...
Tinker Street is always a treat. Great food, perfect portions, creative dishes served by knowledgeable staff. It's even better now that we can make reservations.
I absolutely loved the atmosphere of Tinker Street. The setup is amazing. The servers were awesome, attentive, patient (my party unintentionally ended up staying past closing conversing and enjoying the time). I ordered the Shrimp & Grits which immediately took me back to my southern mom’s homemade grits—perfection!
Tinker Street never fails to delight. The food is always innovative, tasty and better than one has the right to expect. Perhaps the best thing about Tinker is the staff, including Reina, Chloe, Kale, Cris, Kyle, Rico and especially their Head Server, Ashlee. She is knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and flawless in her presentation. I would follow Ashlee even if she left Tinker and went to McDonald's, as Ashlee's presence would make it worthwhile to eat Big Macs.
This was my first time dining at Tinker Street and was pleased that they accepted reservations and have on site parking.
There were plenty of wait staff to have every need met and questions answered. They were all well trained and knowledgeable. I would think it would be difficult for staff because there were ingredients that I had never heard of before.
We started with an appetizer-a very generous portion of specialty Brussels Sprouts- totally amazing! For my main course, I chose the cauliflower steak. Really unique and a delightful mix of flavors, even for a non-vegetarian.
Very good food. Skate was a little overcooked, as was pork belly. I had asked waiter to take time delivering main course. We had wine and a appetizer as sort of pate, which was excellent. Overall it was a good experience.
I came in with a girlfriend around Christmas time for the first time and had an exceptional esperience with service. Although this time around My husband and I were there on a date night, on a reservation. We got seated for the most part, right away, but watched a 8 top table come in after us and waited until they got their drinks and food ordered before we could even get our drink order put in, didn’t quite understand why we had to wait so long to get drinks or get our order put in. Our waitress was very good otherwise. The food too was very good and had a nice presentation. We did however sit closer the window which was very cold even with the blankets. Otherwise we absolutely had a very enjoyable time and hope to come back in the future.
Everything was good. However, it was a cold night. The Hostess took our coats and my husband noticed where she hung them. They did not tell us anything about moving the coats. It was a bit confusing in finding our coats. Luckily, I found my coat on a hook as soon as I exited the bathroom and my husband's coat was underneath mine. Renae, said they have a system. Yes they do, but we were not given any coat check tickets for them taking our coats. It is small, but on a cold night, everyone was wearing a coat.
The next time we go in the winter time, we will keep our coats unless they have a Coat Check Tag to give us.
I might add that there were 3 hostesses at the hostess stand when we arrived at 5:30.
Also, Renae, was very apologetic after we had our coats. She even went outside on that cold night to apologize again. We will go back again - the food was AWESOME.
Great little place with a interesting and fun menu. Really enjoyed my time there, only small complaint was the dining areas is a enclosed porch in the winter, which was perfectly heated, but it was very tight quarters and made it difficult getting up and moving around. Otherwise it was great
Food was great!!!
Tinker Street, there are not enough adjectives to describe the experience and flavor that this cozy restaurant employs. As you arrive, you are welcomed with a delightful tasting of champagne to begin a spectacular dining experience. Of course I reviewed the menu extensively before arriving, my only question was a wine pairing. Our server was thoughtful about choosing a wine that would pair well with mine and my friends entrees. They kept the wine chilled and never let our glasses go empty. For my main course I chose shrimp and grits. The best chefs season every item individually, and at Tinker Street the flavor sensation is phenomenal. Tinkers special touch on shrimp and grits was the perfect amount of spice that has you craving the next bite. The thick cut ham adds to this rich comfort foods savory flavor. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Mushroom Bruschetta - Truffle Golden Syrup- Nuff said
Ruby Grapefruit Salad- Perfectly tossed, with a gentle dressing that allows the fresh ingredients to shine
Apple Dutch Baby - I had a lot of wine by this point.. However the generous salted caramel drizzled over this crispy dutch baby with a mound of fluffy whip cream creates a luscious dessert
❤️ the food was amazing. The service was exceptional. Would I go back? Absolutely
Overated. Staff was amazing but food and ambiance did not justify the price.
Delicious meal that was well worth the price! Service was excellent. Ambience was sublime. I will be back!
Went for birthday. Service was fantastic. Our waiter knew the menu very well. We went with his recommendations - Raclette appetizer, Shrimp and Grits/Pork Belly entrees. All were delicious. Would return.
Brussels sprouts were amazing !!
Absolutely awesome food, wine and service. Never disappointed and highly recommended.
Feel at home at TS which serves outstanding food and the team is genuinely happy to see you.
We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The service was impeccable and the food delicious, especially the S’more Pot de Creme! We will definitely return for dinner again soon.
Totally enjoyed our experience at Tinker Street. We had a reservation, and there was no wait. Service was great and staff's knowledge of the food was excellent. We will definitely return to Tinker Street in the future.
Delicious food and outstanding service, love Tinker Street and love that we can now make reservations!
Pork belly as an add-on to the entree was disappointing.
Good food. Helpful service.
First visit.Terrific experience. Will definitely return.
It was fantastic as always.
As always, a great meal. We’re especially happy that Tinker now serves cocktails.
Wonderful service. Value to food was a 4 of 5. The tables are tightly packed in and ceilings created much noise. Not somewhere to go to talk due to close proximity of other clients and constant movement around tables by wait staff.
Well decorated and cool little restaurant. We enjoyed our food a lot, my girlfriend especially liked her shrimp and grits. The 3-course meal for $33 (on Tuesdays) was a solid value. I thought the service was great, although the staff were a little too enthusiastic when it came to refilling our water glasses. The sparkling wine toast is a really nice touch. Would go back!
Seated within 5 min of reservation. Thought we were to be in the outside enclosure, but table opened up inside, which was our preference. We were still talking about the meal the following day. Though I love Classic Rock, I would have expected a little different sound.
