Tiki Underground is the first tiki bar and restaurant in the Akron, Ohio area featuring high quality food and cocktails made with fresh ingredients. Picture yourself with a Mai Tai, edamame, and coconut shrimp; or a Painkiller and tropical habanero wings. Check out our menu to learn more about what you can enjoy when you spend a few hours with us. Northeast Ohio seems like the most unlikely place to open a tiki bar, yet when the weather is unpredictable and the night life options are limited, suddenly this seems like the perfect idea.

                                                                                                                                                                              Terrible service and terrible food....go somewhere else! Took 10 minutes to get menus once seated. Took another 15 minutes for a server to come take our drink orders. 20 minutes later...still no drinks...and we only ordered beer and water. Finally had to ask again for our drinks!! Food took another 25 minutes...and was awful!

                                                                                                                                                                              What a fun tiki-themed place! The night we were at Tiki Underground there was a really good surf band, the Kahuna Kings, complete with pretty go go girls...the Lava Ladies. Even though this is a newly opened place, the owners bring in a lot of inventive fun activities such as music, Tiki carvers and an upcoming tiki flea market to trade retro memorabilia. More importantly, the drinks here are first class: hand mixed by a real bartender from homemade ingredients and fresh fruit juices. No icky pre-bought mixes with corn syrup! And my feeling about drinks is, 'Why waste a huge amount of calories on something that is not delicious?'. We had the flaming scorpion bowl for four, which was spectacularly presented and very tasty. But you will find all of your Polynesian retro-favorites here...mai tais, zombies, hurricanes...and the list goes on. We were pleased with our food...burgers with grilled pineapple and teriyaki sauce, coconut shrimp, Tiki fries with yummy cheese and tangy garlic sauce, juicy chicken wings, and amply topped nachos. The servers are friendly and aim to please, and the owners do their best to greet all their guests personally and make sure everyone is happy. Also, there is a nice little patio for when the weather is nice. This cute little place, on the outskirts of Hudson, not far from the National Park, is a great place to go for a relaxing and fun time. Highly recommended!

                                                                                                                                                                              They certainly have the drinks down. They were authentic and well-made. And I totally see where they're going with the decor and theming. And they're getting there. But the food was really mediocre, just typical bar fare. And except for a couple small appetizers, none of the food fits the tiki/ Polynesian thing they're aiming for. And a side note, our server could not have been less enthused about us, the food, the drinks. Really, life in general seemed to have been bugging her. We like tiki places, so we're rooting for this one. That menu is the big stinker in the room.

                                                                                                                                                                              Perhaps it was just my mistake, but I was expecting a more trendy, gourmet Hawaiian restaurant. However, it's basically an old Mexican joint re-branded as Hawaiian. Basically bar food with a slight hawaiian twist. This may be totally fine if it's what you're expecting, but not for foodies!
