Aikawa and the team behind Ramen Tatsu-Ya, Kemuri Tatsu-Ya and dipdipdip Tatsu-Ya.

Recently named one of the 40 best bars in Austin by Statesman critic Matthew Odam, Tiki
Tatsu-Ya is disguised by a fake travel company on the outside, but stepping in, you’re
immediately transported to another world. The riotous colors, sound effects and over-the-top
tropical cocktails in custom mugs and glasses feel like an island vacation or 21+ Disneyland.
Shareable drinks come with fire shows, and even the food far surpasses typical bar fare with
mouthwatering dishes like Spam Musubi, Crab Lagoon, Kalua Pork and the Pu Pu Platter, which
shouldn’t be missed. Reservations are recommended.

Went here for birthday celebrations. Love the ambience; it is a little dark in there for all of us in our 40’s to read the menu, but that’s what flashlights are for on smart phones! The food was delicious, and the drinks are fresh and so fun. The table was a little small for 8 of us and it was hard to pass food and shareable drinks around it. All-in-all it was a fun experience that I recommend to others.

Server acted inconvenienced at best that he had to wait on our table. Every 3 word conversation was curt. Didn’t ask how anything was. Came back every 15 minutes to ask “anything else?”. After we paid and tipped he said “that was easy”, and then walked away. Not expecting 5 star service at a place like this, but yikes, such an uncomfortable dinner.

Visited for the first time and had a wonderful experience. Got a seat at the bar to see all the magic they put into all the drinks! Gage puts so much into each drink & makes them strong, for sure! Hope to visit again in the near future.

Had a great experience with Brian up at the bar! The drinks were so fun and tasted delicious. The taro tots were my favorite and super crispy.

Fun and unique place to bring a group of friends. Shared cocktails are a must try because the are an experience in themselves. I wasn’t wowed by the food but I was also there to enjoy the experience more than for the quality of the food. They offer sushi rolls, wings but it’s a limited menu. Go for the setting and the experience!

The atmosphere of Tiki Tatsu-ya is a 10 out of 5 scale in their downstairs Cave area. It is stunning, delightful, magical, trippy, campy, and gorgeous. I would love to meet the person who designed this South Sea mystic booze bubble, because their imagination is magnificent and they crushed it! The lighting is also a masterpiece in itself. The drinks are phenomenal and honestly for these days, very fairly priced considering the punch and flavor they deliver. I loved it! Go on a date with someone you want to get cozy with. Go with dear friends who love a bit of chilled out spectacle. Go if you just want to step out of the banal world and slip into a moment of a fun fantasy. And, for a bar, their food is creative and pretty good. Things like papaya tempura hit the spot with a tropical drink or two. You can make a reservation online through Open Table and you really should: people line up for Tiki Tatsu-ya, as they should!
